Bralo20 Posted June 22, 2012 at 08:26 AM Posted June 22, 2012 at 08:26 AM Looks like a comfy ride on the way home! Are you too tall for the lay-flat business seat? Or is there enough room? It was a very comfy ride home I'm quite happy with Brussels Airlines' new seats, even in economy (cattle) it was quite OK (at least in the exit seats), food was great, service awesome... I'm indeed to tall for the new seats, I'm above 2 meters tall and I have big feet (size 51) and I do have problems with the area where your feet are, but in the end it still was a comfy ride home... I'm used to United's old recliners in business and compared to that it's a big step up even though United's old recliners are very comfortable. I hope to fetch the new business class on United one day, maybe next year when I go to Vegas again, I have still a bunch of miles sitting with UA so I can easily upgrade my flights. Quote ...
riobeard11 Posted June 27, 2012 at 03:52 PM Posted June 27, 2012 at 03:52 PM (edited) ^ Ah yeah, I see that the area for the feet could be cramped with height/big feet. But, hey...it's still a reclining seat! Just returned from LA and Vegas - loved the Delta 763. It was very comfortable and plenty of leg room for me! The flights home were not so fortunate, they switched our 757 to an MD90 which I don't like...and we were placed in an exit row which was nice for leg room, but no reclining is annoying. The A319 for the flight into DCA was a bit old, but I was sitting just in front of the wing so I had fun watching the thrust reversers with a good view after landing. Unfortunately we came in from the south, so I didn't get to enjoy the river visual approach I really just don't like the way the MD90 (or MD88) fly. When they're stepping down and lowering speed it's so much more noticeable to me than when flying on other aircraft. I also don't like how it seems to feel like it takes forever to climb once off the ground. Is this just me? And finally - did everyone see this ANA 767's hard landing that creased the fuselage?? Happened just last week. Yikes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw-aUVa3a0U Edited June 27, 2012 at 03:56 PM by riobeard11 Quote

Bralo20 Posted July 5, 2012 at 04:34 PM Posted July 5, 2012 at 04:34 PM (edited) The final report of the Air France flight 447 crash on June 1, 2009 (flight AF447 flown with an Airbus A330-203) was released today, everyone interested in the matter can download the reports on the BEA website: French: http://www.bea.aero/docspa/2009/f-cp090601.../f-cp090601.pdfEnglish: http://www.bea.aero/docspa/2009/f-cp090601...cp090601.en.pdf More documents can be found on BEA's website: http://www.bea.aero/en/enquetes/flight.af....rt.final.en.php Summarized conclusion (need to verify this by reading the actual report but this is what the media is saying): - Faulty readings on the airspeed due frozen "pitot tubes"- Wrong reaction by the pilots on the stall warning (they issued "nose up" commands while they should have issued "nose down" commands together with increase in speed)- Lack op appropriate training of the crew- Questions with Airbus' Joystick command system (There isn't a feedback from left to right and reverse, when one pilot pulls the joystick the other doesn't notice it in his own joystick), Boeing (and others) connect both controls together (even in a fly by wire plane) to let the other pilot know what imput the other is making, the yoke on left/right will make the same movement as the opposite side.- Failing of command structure in the cockpit during the emergency- Failing to recognize the emergency by the crew (they thought they were in a high speed stall when it was actually the opposite and they were stalling by lack of speed)- ... BEA is the investigation agency of French from aviation accidents, they don't issue a "fault" verdict. BEA only says what caused the crash. Another investigation which is conducted by the French justice system will (if necessary) convict parties for the incident. AFAIK the French justice has issued preliminary manslaughter accusations against Air France and Airbus. During the next couple of weeks it will be known if those (and maybe other) parties will be going to a trial. Edited July 5, 2012 at 04:37 PM by Bralo20 Quote ...

I was just reading about this the other night - the transcript of the cockpit recordings is so sad to read when you hear that he was holding the stick back the entire time. Is this something Airbus will likely correct so that both sticks move? Quote

robert sadler Posted December 16, 2012 at 10:30 PM Author Posted December 16, 2012 at 10:30 PM I would say the delta pilot throttling up to early of his rolling departure and taking the corner a little to sharp and to fast the weight of the aircraft would of keeped the aicraft on the runway may be hence a lot of smoke, it would not of caused to much concern and he remained on the runway and continue his departure as normal, but i am only guessing and my possible view not like some flights we have had at birmingham, below UAE flight cuts the corner a little short at birmingham airport {UK}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aBw7nth5Os&NR=1&feature=endscreenearlier on this year also at Birmingham the pilot expidited at high speed and miss judged the turn. Not at Birmingham below but someone I would guess would of had to to do a big write report, you might of seen already or heard about it came across this a while back a rather expensive mistake by ground crew, watch carefully what happens see if you can see the biggest mistake i have ever seen, all i can say is ouch! anyway Merry Christmas and a happy new yearCELINE HAS AND ALWAYS WILL WIN THE HEARTS OF MILLIONS,CELINE RULES Quote CELINE HAS AND ALWAYS WILL WIN THE HEARTS OF MILLIONS,CELINE RULES
