Sorry to bother Darren, but any news on the UK/Irish Cinemas?

 

I have posted the uk cinema chains that will get this, but for me to post exactly which ones in each region of the uk will take forever, lol, and the exact cinemas still have to be confirmed...

 

I hope to have irish cinema chain info. this week though

A couple of us phoned Sony Pictures SA two weeks ago and according to them it is coming to South Africa. The woman did say February, but there is still no information available, so I'm not sure if it will show February.

I can give you the number, then you can give it a try. That woman will curse me if I keep on phoning them. It could also be good if different people phone them, that way they will see that there is an interest in the movie. Here is the number: 011 274 5000.

Hi again. I spoke to a guy at Sony SA. He worked with Celine when she came here, we spoke a bit about her, how wonderful she is and so on. Anyway, he says the movie is about 3 hours long

and will be showing here. He couldnt give the exact dates, but will let me know. He asked for my phone no. and said he will phone when he gets more info. They are not sure if it will go to Ster-Kinekor

or Nu Metro. He said he has seen the movie, obviously cause he works for Sony, he says it is BRILLIANT!! The DVD that is coming out is EXACTLY the same as the movie. I gave him my email, so he will let me know when he finds out more. I almost dropped dead when he asked for my number. I said, "really, would you do that, would you really let me know"? I just checked out www.celinedionmovie.com.au and then proceeded to visit www.eventcinemas.com.au and www.villagecinemas.com.au... you know, just out of curiosity. And I have to admit that I was shocked to see on EC's website that the sessions are every half-hour! Does this mean I'm planning a four-hour flight from Cyprus to the UK to go watch a half-hour film at a Vue cinema? Seriously, half an hour. Thirty minutes! I was expecting it to be, I don't know, say... an hour long, at least! But half an hour? Then again, you need at least a five-minute-gap between sessions (to get every one out and get other attendees in, you know), so that probably makes it 25 minutes? Anyone care to join me in panicking here?!? *breathe, breathe* I need to clean something.

Also I got the uk press release, which is basically the press release on the hot ticket website, with a few slight wording changes for the uk...

 

Ticket prices may differ depending on the individual cinema chain, and all tickets are available at cinema's only for the uk.

Do you mean you can only buy tickets in the UK at the cinema or do you mean the US too? I wasn't planning on ordering mine online but I was thinking about it just to get them reserved. Not that I see a huge rush of people here in little Huntington WV flocking to the theater and buying all the tickets each day I don't want to be negative but I'm betting in my hometown here my friend and I that are going on the 20th will be the only ones in the theater for the showing.

ok well like I said just because there is little to zero fan base for Celine in WV period I don't see these tickets selling out say like Harry Potter or Twilight movies, I'm just going to go down a couple hours early or maybe the day before and see if I can snap up a couple tickets. I may see if my friend wants to order them online in advance but if not I'll just go down early and get them. I'll probably call the cinema here in the next few days and see if they are even selling tickets in advance.

Thank you so much for posting that Darren, makes me so excited.

 

I saw the film listed on the 'Strand' Cinema website, which there is one of in Belfast and Derry. I rang and spoke to a very helpful lady who said that although it was listed on the website, it did not guarantee it would show there. She explained that they only take in one or two new movies a week, but if it did not show there she would imagine it would show in the bigger local cinemas. She said to ring her back on Mon 15th, but hopefully I will know before then!

I think CDIP is "Celine Dion Informatie Punt" (The Dutch fan site)
