Timster Posted January 26, 2010 at 04:21 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 04:21 PM by the way there is such a big difference in ABM in that last notes. You just can hear it, wish they did not rerecord the last part, it does not make sense at all... What last notes are you talking about? I think they mean the last half of the high note, where it sounds a bit shaky. I understand them recording it live, but why didn't they autotune the last part - like every other note in the video? Belle Céline Posted January 26, 2010 at 04:54 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 04:54 PM Its showing in my town but the tickets aren't for sale yet!! AARGH!!! It's clearly labeled on the site that it's coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma but the theater site doesn't have it listed Same here. I would like to know a price for sure, Koolan said fifteen but I can't find a price on fandango. When I look for ticket its says it isn't showing in my state/city even though the hot ticket site said it was showing in two cities here. I think it is because that clip is suppose to go with the whole sick bit (whether or not it really was recorded while she was sick is another question). Maybe she did it on purpose for the movie... Remember Ashley said that the guy who saw the preview said that there is part where they show her getting back after she was sick and that she didn't have her voice back completely and then they show her hitting a big note. Or it is suppose to go with that bit where she tells Muhammad Ali that she is not feeling well. I guess we'll have to wait for the movie. By the way, that note is really not that bad. Except for the last bit (which is not that bad) its sounds better than some of her attempts in the 90's. I'll take raw anyday over autotuned... fred Posted January 26, 2010 at 05:10 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 05:10 PM I'll take raw anyday over autotuned...Hear hear! I too was a bit worried when hearing that note, and thought that well maybe just maybe she should tka in mind to approach it differently. And yes, raw over anything. Emotional imperfection over soulless perfection. One of her best performances ever to me is the LAEE performance where her voice cracks a bit. Wow, the emotion in that performance is out of this world. And the autotuned parts before this last part of the high note in ABM, are actually quite booring. I could hear, even though my ear aint trained to those things that there was something artificial about them... and that's the thing folks. The mind can be focused on technical perfections, obcessed with it almost, and hates when it isn't up to match. But the soul is blasé about that wordly focus and only sings while hearing actual emotion pouring through. And you can't fake that folks, neither the output nor input. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

I can listen to the CD if I want perfect. That is exactly why I absolutely hate the Las Vegas DVD. I'll take the Sur Les Plaines concert anyday over that. I love that concert because it is raw and real. I'm glad they kept the autotuning to a minimum for this movie (looks like it anyway). I remember another performance people bashed because she cracked the big note was ICHFIL in Las Vegas in 2007. In my opinion that was one of her best performances. I doubt they'll show a clip of her singing ABM on that night like they did on Star Academie, cos as you know it was lipped just like every other night. They made it sound worse by putting just the raw vocals from her mic and playback - people didn't realise the crack in her voice is also on the usual playback. They wouldn't have made her damage her vocal chords even more by doing it live under the playback just for the DVD for dramatic effect. Also, her body movements in the video are different to the Phoenix clip. The 'live' performance was obviously from the Boston or Montreal concert, as they didn't have all the flying camera views at any other concerts. And I don't think she made it sound bad on purpose either. The last time she fully hit the note was the first show - she's obviously not used to doing it live, so she was probably running out of breath which would easily explain the shaky ending. I still think it sounds amazing. Even the ending is good cos it's still in tune. We don't know whether this is from Boston or Montreal though, cos the other concert we get on DVD might have a better high note, as they wouldn't keep the same one for both DVDs! And yeah, I'll take raw vocals over autotuned anyday tool. What I meant was I'm surprised they didn't do anything to the nigh note to make it more perfect like they've done for other parts. Quote

I think that april could be a real possibility. If they are planning to show this movie in more country's with different languages, they have to make a lot of different subtitles. Scramasboy Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:31 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:31 AM Taking Chances and MHWGO were not autotuned, i'm almost sure of it. AMB highnote has some type of metalic sound but if it is autotuned its very slight, not like POL and such! And IDK how or if the last part of ABM sounds good! But in Tylers vid it doesn't sound so bad, I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlWoU5Z7-70&feature=sub Quote http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png
