Sorry to bother Darren, but any news on the UK/Irish Cinemas?

I have posted the uk cinema chains that will get this, but for me to post exactly which ones in each region of the uk will take forever, lol, and the exact cinemas still have to be confirmed...

I hope to have irish cinema chain info. this week though

A couple of us phoned Sony Pictures SA two weeks ago and according to them it is coming to South Africa. The woman did say February, but there is still no information available, so I'm not sure if it will show February.

Someone here said that Celine was not that big in Germany.

Well, not more or less than italy, spain, the netherlands or denmark for example. But i think there is no market for this movie here in germany. The DVD will be again, like the vegas one a success but not in cinemas :thumbsup2:

If they want it to be a succes like Michael Jackson's This Is It - they would have promoted the movie way before and much better.

I think the movie is most of all , a gift to us, the loyal and true fans. By reading this forum etcetera, we know that it is coming to the theaters, and maybe it is just meaned for that reason - a gift to us fans.

Celine's movie won't ever get the same promotion "This Is It" got, unless she dies. I'm sorry to say that, but that's - sadly - how things go.

But she did 6 concerts here and 4 of them sold between 20.000 and 35.000 tickets (i dont care about a 1/2 or 3/4 full arena, the number are the same) . Berlin was almost sold out, all that without big promo! Taking Chances debuted at 5, Im Alive was played the whole summer 2002, ANDHC was also succesfull. But as i said, i have no facts, i dont know the chart positions of other countries....

I just ask myself again why is she so big in Poland?? I like the fact but i dont know why. They def. should show the docu there!

But in fact, the german media and in general many people dont care about her. Maybe thats diffrent in other european (not english speaking) countries.

I think in Poland people really see who Celine is, and admire her voice. I think they really love to listen to great voices. Not the standard R_B crap that is dominating the charts. But a honest true performer and amazing vocalist.

I totally agree bout the first part:

20,000 ~ Munich and Frankfurt

17,000 ~ Berlin

13,000 ~ Cologne and Hamburg

+ around 10,000,000 albums sold... that is for sure more than the Nethelands or Poland...

I mean My Heart Will Go On sold 2,3 Mio. copies in Germany alone... I think the people over here have a very good opinion concering Céline Dion, but she is not often in the press... German media rather prefers shocking stories à la Spears....

Hey folks,

just called Sony Germany today. There a little news from NYC but my contact told me the film will be released in Germany on April 26th in theatres. Which cinemas and cities aren't out yet but at least the rest of the world can keep its hopes up to see the movie.
Since we talk about Sony nothing is set in stone yet.

He also mentioned this DVD/CD package, which was already mentioned but hand't any infos about that. Sorry to give you only this little info

and if it does I hope in the Northern part of Holland too! not only in Amsterdam! But if it does show in Amsterdam, I will be there!

I also think if Celine had done 2 or 3 concerts, she would still fill the Amsterdam Arena, night after night!

One city for sure is Las Vegas cuz today i went to c Legion n they r selling the tickets in advance so i bought 2 ... Each cost me $16.00 cuz its in Imax....

I went ahead and emailed my local movie theatre near the southside of Chicago and here was their response:

"We will have the Celine Dion feature showing from February 17th through

March 2nd. At this moment in time, we are unsure of the times or

pricing. These tickets are not on sale yet, but when they are, you are

able to purchase them through cinemark.com or by coming in to the

theater and purchasing them at the box office or automated kiosk."

So it seems that some theatres are extending to show "Celine: Through the Eyes of the World" into March 2010!
