I Love You Posted August 24, 2011 at 01:20 AM Posted August 24, 2011 at 01:20 AM I love Barbra Streisand, I have a few of her records in my room. Quote
Davey84 Posted August 25, 2011 at 07:11 PM Posted August 25, 2011 at 07:11 PM I was surprised to see How Do You Keep The Music Playing on the album aswell.... (did she know Céline is singing it in her new show???) I was hoping Céline would record it for the next album... but I guess that won't happen now Barbra's version is nice, but needless to say I love Céline's version more Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
Alex_Incognito Posted August 25, 2011 at 08:58 PM Posted August 25, 2011 at 08:58 PM Barbra recorded it YEARS before Celine, originally back in 1984 for her "Emotion" album. However, she decided to scrap it because she hated the arrangement. (It's from an American movie titled "Best Friends") Fast forward to 2003, Barbra totally re-recorded the track for her "The Movie Album." Originally she was going to use the same vocal from 1984, but decided that probably wasn't a good idea. The track on the bonus disc of "What Matters Most" is the 2003 version. So fast forward to 2011, and Celine singing this at the premiere of her show. I was floored.I'm thrilled to have my 2 favorite singers singing this fantastic song. zuv Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:41 PM Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:41 PM (edited) Hey, i was considering buying some songs from Barbra, i'm not a fan (yet) because her songs sound too boring, too calm/soft for me. I was wondering if you guys had suggestions for me, for what to listen first. I loved her voice in Tell Him, it was high pitch and strong with nice belting notes like at 3:14 to 3:18 and 3:45 to 3:57 and .... Sometimes in the song i "confuse" her voice with Celine's Thats what i like, any suggestions? Edited November 30, 2011 at 04:52 PM by zuv Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:44 PM Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:44 PM If you don't like soft music, I suggest the following: - Guilty Pleasures (2005) - her most "recent" pop albums that had a hit dance single "Night of My Life". - Till I Loved You (1988) - her last pop albums of the 1980s with a few killer ballads. - Emotion (1984) - Barbra's intro and exit into the MTV days. A great 80's pop album! - Guilty (1980) - a huge pop success with Barry Gibb of the BeeGees. - ButterFly (1975) - 70's pop! An unusual album, but glorious! - Barbra Joan Streisand (1972) - Carol King style pop music of the 1970s - Stoney End (1971) - Barbra's INTRO into pop music. (Her first albums were standards from 1963 on) Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
JasonFromTheMoon Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:47 PM Posted November 30, 2011 at 04:47 PM If you don't want jazz then I can suggest you her adult contemporary/pop albums "Till I Loved You" and "Higher Ground" (the second one features "Tell Him").
