I'm glad you had such a great time and got to witness Barbra for yourself! There is no one quite like her!

I saw her for her 2 Brooklyn shows in late October of last year. For those shows she had her son, Il Volo, and Chris Botti as her special guests. Roz wasn't added till half way though the tour (I'm glad she wasn't there for the Brooklyn shows!) We also got "As If We Never Said Goodbye" and "Being Good Isn't Good Enough" in the first act,but didn't get "On A Clear Day" or "My Man" (2 of my faves).

The second act is, without a doubt, weaker than the first. And we all know it's because of the inclusion of the special guests. But I do feel the second act has some great stuff. "What'll I Do / My Funny Valentine" is gorgeous. "Lost Inside of You" is something Barbra never performed live until this tour, and it was really a highlight. For the "requests" section (which I'm sure is rigged) she did "No More Tears" and "Sam, You Made The Pants Too Long" the first show and "No More Tears" and "Guilty" the second.

"Make Our Garden Grow" was also one of the highlights for me. However, I don't know what the hell happened in London: the decision to include the Jersey boy was just stupid. It worked better with Il Volo...or it would be better with Barbra and the choir. That song was a shocker to have in the setlist because she recorded it back in 1988 and never released it. To hear her sing it was such a privilege.

I've seen Barbra live a total of 3 times and each time was more exciting than the last. She's a tour de force, and her voice on her tour this round is much better than they were in 2007. I really hope she does the film "Gypsy" soon. I've been a fan ever since I was in diapers, and she has yet to disappoint me.

Live performance of ''Woman In Love'' from the 1st June concert in London. It's amazing although her voice is kind of raspy in some parts and she's only singing a 50 seconds snippet.

Seriously, what's the point of singing a 50 seconds snippet of one of your biggest hit ? :glare:

Barbra really needs to learn how to make proper medleys.

Barbra created medleys! Well, not really, but she has many great ones. The point of this segment of the show is called "snippets" where she does a little bit of a "requested" song. She definitely doesn't want to be singing it, but all the notes are there.

I find it bizarre how she never wants to sing any of her most contemporary hits. It's such a shame...

Her 2006 tour she didn't sing any songs from her 2005 album "Guilty Pleasures" ("Guilty Too" in the UK). It does annoy fans, and she even complains about singing the same songs over and over again! lol

Barbra has her first concert ever in Amsterdam tonight! History is being made! I really wish I could have attended one of her European tours, but I am grateful to have seen her in the states. I'll have to 'settle' for Celine crooning to French hits in Paris this November!

The Barbra concert was brilliant. She sang some of my favorite songs like:

Woman In Love, Guilty, Enough Is Enough, Don't Rain On My Parade, Happy Days Are Here Again, Evergreen, The Way We Were, People...

Someone wanted to know if she was "aware of how lots of artists lipsynch these days". Barbra said she's very bad at lipsynching and said:

"You have to forgive me for singing live." LOL

I know Barbra's European tour is over now but her music director, Richard Jay Alexander (love him!) & his assistant Amy Shaughnessy documented some fun photos along the way from the entire tour. Some of you might like to look back on it :)

Richard is on Facebook and I subscribe to his page.

OH MY GOD!!

She has never performed this live before in her entire career.

And now she only does a 50 second snippet..lmao.

I would die to hear a live rendition during her prime.

She owns this classic:

Wow she sang that snippet from "Woman In Love" amazingly! Babs is the essential Diva of all times and is the proof that you don't need to sing harsh lyrics and be naked to be a true beatch lol :) I love her! Edited by JasonFromTheMoon

Barbra's 'Back To Brooklyn' show is being released on CD & DVD!!! :w00t:

I thought this would never happen seeing as it was such a short tour. Shame we won't have 'Woman In Love' as that was performed in Europe, but we will get 'Enough Is Enough' - on of my favourites!

No, I think this is by far the worst cover - they just took the same photo as the Deluxe Edition of her 'My Passion For Design' book, it's so pale and she looks terrible!

I wonder if she's started work on her duets album that she said she wanted to do. And I wonder who she'll get for it. I know she said she wanted Usher...for whatever reason. I'm surprised she knows who he is. She better record it soon, though. Her voice is going.

Her voice is still really good but she's sounding raspy on the higher notes. I worry for her duets album, if she has someone like Beyonce, she might get out-sung. She admits that she never practices or takes any kind of care for her voice. And with her age it's inevitable that she's not going to be able to maintain that powerhouse voice she used to have.

I agree. I think Timeless was the last tour that Barbra sounded crystal clear (although her albums in the early 00s sounded good).

I think the oldest & most powerful female voice in the world is Shirley Bassey. She's 76, and performs just as rarely as Barbra these days, yet her voice is still amazing. Her performance of Goldfinger at the Oscars earlier this year blew everyone away.

Oh I don't like duets albums... They sound a bit rubbish to me, but anyway, I'm still stuck on "Love is the Answer" (for me the best album since "A Love Like Ours" and better than "What Matters Most"), so no prob lol

Do you honestly believe her? I believe for many years she didn't, but she recently said that she had to get things back in shape.

Hmm..yeah I believe her. I don't know why she would lie. I didn't see the article where she said she had to get things back in shape but if she has started training her voice and doing warm up exercises I'm happy to hear that.

I actually hated Love is the Answer. I thought that was boring as all get out. I liked What Matters Most a bit more but it was still a little on the dull side. She needs to stop working with the Bergmans. They've done a few good songs for her but most of their writing is so drab and seems like it goes nowhere.
