I watched her DVD from her 2006 Tour and I almost felt asleep while watching it.

I like some of her songs but her concerts aren't my cup of tea.

Thanks for asking. She was absolutely fantastic. Even better than she was in 2006. What a marvelous performer she is. It's amazing that at 70 she is still so fantastic.

There is talk of her extending her tour to perhaps include South America and Japan. Maybe London.

She's had quite a career. I think she still sounds absolutely amazing. I don't think she sounds the way she used to when she was younger, in the Funny Girl days though. I guess the voice changes with age. Nonetheless, she sounds great.

Oh, i hope she does come to London. I've always wanted to hear her live, in person. And to hear her sing Don't Rain On My Parade, i think i'd cry! That song means so much to me.

I've booked to see Barbra in London!

I thought after her last tour that she would never come to Europe again, so I am beyond happy, especially because the London show at the O2 is the day after my final exam! The tickets are so expensive though, ranging from £72 to £450! I spent £191 on my seat, it's quite far from the stage, but I'm just glad I'm not way up on the top level!

I'm glad you get to go, Tim! Barbra's so amazing live. No one can do to an audience what she does!

Try to record the audio! :) I won't be in Paris until a month after she performs, Oh well. I can't complain since I saw her in New York last fall.

^ I know. Never thought she would ever come to our country.

What a stressful situation this morning when ticket sale started.

Luckily we got through online after 26 minutes.

And we don't have to wait that long. It's already in June!

I GOT MY TICKET!!!! :spaz: :spaz: :spaz:

Will be sing Barbra in Cologne, on the exact same day I've seen Céline in Berlin 5 years ago!!

I'm so extremely happy that one big dream of mine of seeing Barbra live once in my lifetime will finally come true, and that not so far in the future!!

I think it's due to low ticket sales, but they will never come out and say it. It's awful that she cannot sell out Paris, but many people won't shell out 500 EUR.

I can't believe they would cancel a show when they are grossing £5 million for each night at the O2 in London! The tour as a whole is still going to make huge profits, I feel so sorry for those who have booked flights and hotels to see her in Paris! :( They could have promoted it a little better in France and I'm sure they would have better sales, but too late, they've replaced it with another Amsterdam show!

Her last European tour she dropped 3 or 4 dates due to low sales (Rome, Nice, and somewhere else). It devastates the poor fans in those countries. Her problem is that she needs a better tour manager that tells her like it is. I have to think it's a blow to the ego of someone who has a legion d'honneur that can't sell out a concert at Bercy.

Not sure how it is in France but in Israel her ticket prices are outragous.

She actually just added another date but a starting price of approx 800$ is ridiculous.

I guess she's at a stage in her career where she can charge what she wants and if a city doesn't want her, she'll go where they'll pay.

I'm only going if she'll sing 'Send In The Clowns'. But none of my friends would go with me and I do not see me alone there. I had the same experience with that French Canadian long neck, though my friends were blocks away, I sat there alone with the elderly. Fun is not the word.

Just come back from London where I saw Barbra last night at the O2 on the opening night of her European Tour! :w00t:

It was amazing! She sounded a lot better than I thought she would, some of those notes were just incredible! I was in awe from start to finish, she is such an amazing woman, and there was a real sense of excitement in the audience as no one was expecting her to ever be back here, and everyone knew this would probably be the last chance we get to see her in Europe. There were lots of celebrities at The O2, including Adele!

For me, the first half of the show was much more exciting than the second. The first half contained many of the songs I wanted to hear, including The Way We Were, and Don't Rain On My Parade. Her sister Roslyn Kind joined her for Smile, and she did a solo number too. There was a Q&A section where someone asked her to sing Woman In Love, and she did! This was the very first time she'd performed it live! Then she said that another request they often get is No More Tears (Enough Is Enough), so she did some of that too! That was my favourite part of the whole show, as it was 2 hit songs that I love but for some reason are never performed. It was 60 minutes of pure Barbra and everyone couldn't get enough of it.

The second half was a lot more boring for me. Chris Botti, the trumpet player, joined Barbra on stage for a couple of songs which was nice, then he did a couple of solo pieces including a duet with an equally-talented violinist. Then her son Jason Gould joined her and they sang a duet, and then he did 2 solo numbers while Barbra sat on the stage behind him. Don't get me wrong, he has a wonderful voice, but 2 solo performances was just way too much, especially as we'd already heard him sing a song on the intro video before Barbra welcomed him on stage. I just felt the second half lacked the exciting songs that everyone wanted to hear, it just seemed to be all about the special guests and not about Barbra. There were only four really memorable songs she did in-between the other performers: Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Evergreen, People and Here's To Life. Before we knew it, it was the finale, Make Our Garden Grow, where Barbra was joined on stage by all the special guests and a choir. As soon as that was over the orchestra started playing the instrumental to Somewhere, I was really hoping she would sing the whole song, but once she got to the top of the stairs she just sang the last line "Somehow, someday, somewheeeeere" then left the stage. Then, as an encore, she sang Some Other Time.

I think the US tour last year had the same problem with special guests, as they had Chris Botti, her son and sister, as well as the tenor group, Il Volo. I think because Il Volo were not part of this European Tour, the other performers were given more time on-stage. I'm not sure whether Barbra herself spent more or less time on stage compared to the US tour, but many people were disappointed that the focus wasn't on Barbra during the second half.

Despite everything I said, it was still an amazing night, and I feel extremely fortunate and privileged to have seen one of the greatest singers of all time live in concert. I thought I would never have this opportunity, and I probably won't have this chance ever again!
