Sure it brought me right back to my seat at Caesars Palace but the song just didn't sound right with a mans voice. I wanted Célines voice, I needed Célines voice

I wish there were a higher-quality version of Celine's interpretation of this song . .she sings it with such feeling and sincerity, and she's probably thinking of Rene -- it's such a great song to describe their relationship even before they were together romantically: "You were content to let me shine . .that's your way; You always walked a step behind . . So I was the one with all the glory, while you were the one with all the strength .."

That's what I thought too! Although that song is so much related to Bette Midler, but I think, enough time passed and THAT would make a perfect coversong for her!

THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER

national anthem of the United States of America. According to Wikipedia the lyrics come from "Defence of Fort McHenry", a poem written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812. The poem was set to the tune of a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the "Anacreontic Society", a men's social club in London. "The Star-Spangled Banner" was recognized made the national anthem by a congressional resolution in 1931, which was signed by President Herbert Hoover. The song's difficult to sing, because of its wide range.

Performed by all major superstars such as

CENT MILLE CHANSONS

written by Michel Magne and Eddy Marnay, first released by Frida Boccara in 1968.

Frida Boccara:

Celine with Eddy Marnary (1987, "Station Du Soleil"):

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!

"Cent mille chansons"

Cent mille maisons

Gravées à ton nom

Parmi les moissons de la terre

Cent mille chansons rien qu'à nous

Cent mille horizons devant nous

Partagés de bonheur

Tout étalé de nos coeurs

Et des pays reconnus

Et des forêts éperdues

Et des chagrins défendus

Et tes yeux et mes yeux

Dans un océan d'amour

"A hundred thousand songs"

There will be a hundred thousand songs

When the the time of a hundred thousand seasons will come

A hundred thousand lovers

Similar to both of us

In the blue bed of the earth

A hundred thousand songs all for us

A hundred thousand horizons in front of us

Sharing happiness

Spreading it out from our hearts

And the intense castles

And the starry boats

And the forgotten stars

And your eyes and my eyes

In an ocean of love

There will be a hundred thousand songs

When the the time of a hundred thousand seasons will come

A hundred thousand homes

Engrabed in your name

Among the harvests of the earth

A hundred thousand songs all for us

A hundred thousand horizons in front of us

Sharing happiness

Spreading it out from our hearts

And the recognized countries

And the overwhelming forests

And the defended grief

And your eyes and my eyes

In an ocean of love

C'EST UN PETIT MONDE

French adaption of "It's a small world". According to Wikipedia: It's a popular musical boat ride located in the Fantasyland area at each of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide "Children of the World" was the working title of the attraction. Its tentative soundtrack featured the national anthems of the countries represented throughout the ride all playing all at once, which resulted in a cacophonous noise. Walt showed a scale model of the attraction to his staff songwriters Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman, saying "I need one song that can be easily translated into many languages and be played as a round." The Sherman Brothers then wrote "It's a small world (after all)" in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, which influenced the song's message of peace and brotherhood. When they first presented it to Walt, they played it as a slow ballad. Walt requested something more cheerful, so they sped up the tempo and sang in counterpoint. Walt was so delighted with the final result that he renamed the attraction "it's a small world" after the Sherman Brothers' song. It is argued that this song is the single most performed and most translated piece of music on Earth.

Celine performed a sample of this song in Euro Disney Paris, France in 1996:
