What do you say to this world tour so far?

Today, Celine has many songs she still sings live.........we hear em'. I knew for years she was lipping the power of love......and All By Myself on this tour is OBVIOUSLY lipped too!

 

Celine my piece of advice: You're great. Better than Mariah and Whitney combined. But be careful..........you could get caught embarrasingly so.

If someone has to explain to you each and every time the reasons why they say certain things and if you have to take all words upon yourself, personally - then, you might not be ready for the real world.

 

My use of your quote does not necessarily mean everything in my post was directed towards you. Yes, I used the name of your bird in vain twice (yes, those two were made just for you) and alluded to grade school - but they're comic reliefs in my clever remarks. Celine has different "live" tracks for her repertoire. If it is a good day for her, she will sing the track with the 1st verse up to the bridge, and then pick up after the high scream. If it's not her best day, she will sing only the beginning up to the bridge, and then lip the rest.

I think that'd be the worst way for her to be 'found out'- with the big note in ABM- imagine she was singing away then when the flames are on the screen and everyone is about to go wild cos they expect the big note, nothing comes out and Celine is 'singing' away with no sound...hehe. Personally I don't give a crap- it's the best show I've ever seen, I cried my eyes out, I met her, I talked to her, I got my pic and autograph- she sounds absolutely amazing- I don't care what she lips or doesn't cos she obvipusly still has the voice and that's enough for me- she takes time for her fans- she could have told me to piss off when iI stuck my head in through the window and talked to her but she didn't- she performed with every tiny bit of energy she had all 3 times I saw the show. We are so lucky to have this show, this album and everything- she runs about and dances and wears amazing dresses and shoes and just drives everyone wild- imagine she just stood there like she used to or there was no amazing stage or runways or dancers or costume changes.

 

I love the tour- I don't think (the centre stage show) could be any better- I really wouldn't want the setlist to change all taht much. I'd love Miles to go to be included as I love that song and it wasn't performed, and Us- a song she said was such a great stage song. But we've got the IA remix- the cool videos, the A M A Z I N G opeing video and IDAN- lipped yes but it's a flawless performnace (apart from when the sound man forgets to push 'on')

 

That's just my opinion of course but I really do believe some people always try to moan instead of just enjoying it and appreciating. Celien isn't cheating fans- she's working her body into the ground for her fans. Remember her saying backstage on the AND DVD 'oh my god, I'm so so tired tonight'? Imagine how she feels with this tour and travelling. Miming- they all do it- all of them. But Celine also sings better than anyone on earth and deserves all the accolades and sales she gets. I'm not a blind fool that loves every single thing she says or does or wears or whatever. But with regard to the tour- amazing.That's just the way it is my pretties.

I think it always depends on the overall experience - I believe it must have been mindblowing for you to meet her and talk to her and so on plus you saw the indoor show. So the package worked for you.

By the way - Celine is the one who uses lipsynching the most in her concerts, by far - Madonna does it in parts of her songs - but she is dancing like mad and in a different league as singer - but Kylie, Anastacia, Tina, Cher (except the verses in Believe), Barbra - they never ever use playback during a liveshow.

 

Anyhow - the outdoor show (well ... if you can call that a show) was the complete opposite. I think you saw the outdoor concert in Dublin as well, right?

 

The whole production of that was lame, carefully said - and that combined with the fact that she stands on this awfull stage and strikes poses after her playback songs like she could hardly believe herself how great she just was - that kinda p**es me off.

 

And that after all this fighting for her

I think everybody knows how it feels to admit you are a Celine Fan sometimes - people look at you like have not even made it yet. But that was fine, I always told everybody that the songs might be cheesy sometimes, and yes, she sings everything from childrens songs to dance pop to rock which might give some the impression that she has no taste and sings everything Rene tells her to sing - I was willing to fight that and said: You might be right, here and there, but you should see this woman live one time only - and you would remain silent for the rest of your life with your critics, because she is simply the best you can get on a stage.

 

And what did we see? A country fair stage (with a dressing tent on stage - this is one of the most unbelievable parts to me), a few coloured lights, bad sound, all her signature songs in playback... I don´t like to moan, I just want to say: That was simply a bad concert.

I believe the ABM note to be live.

Check the bootleg of Antwerp 14th, there, in the beginning, 'the' note is somewhat more silent, as if her microphone was a bit too far.

In my video from Arras, there is no such thing. 2 different sounds for the same note, therefore I think it is live.

i completely agree - and of all critical fans i think im deffinately one of the worst - the abuse ive got from all the forums in the past (seb knows!) hahaa. But with this i think its just been said by Stevo - I feel lucky to have had this tour and album - im worried shes gonna burn herself out and im surprised shes done all this this year.

 

Thank God Perez Hilton cant write about her any more coz he would be interested in this but he likes her so he probably wouldnt slam her. Altho everyone else would and thats just not what i want for celine. There are critical fans like me who sometimes get slammed by mad fans but i DO draw the line at wanting celine to get found out publically and embarassingly! Thats just awful. It will be enough for her hear about what her fans think from boards liek this. It'll get back to her, without her having to be publically humilliated.

I'm completely excited to see Celine later this year! So far there have definitely been things that impressed me and, naturally, things I was dissapointed in. I get a rushed feeling when I listen to the bootlegs. The rushed productions of certain songs really annoy me. The same repeated lipped tracks from A New Day really annoy me. Those versions absolutely SUCK the life out of those songs. God help me if she includes I Wish from Vegas on the American tour. I do think her costumes have been amazing and she's looked completely stunning! She's pulled off some really great performances, but I don't feel her heart is in it. I still can't help but think the tour was much too rushed. She comes off a 5 year engagement, takes 2 months off and then comes right back on tour? That's rushed anyway you look at it! I hate the setlist in the french speaking countries. She's doing too much older material! What's the point of releasing new material if you don't ever use it!

 

I have no doubt in my mind I'm going to love the show and wish it would last forever, because I love Celine, but when you look at it from the outside, the tour isn't as great as it should have been! She's burned out big time! I'm still REALLY looking forward to the DVD though!

 

P.S. My vote goes to lipped for the big note in ABM. The rest of the song is live, but she gets that blank look on her face when she sings that big note, which means to me that she's not singing the note.

You know, I wouldn't be critical and vocal in this thread if I didn't care for Celine. I do admire her, and I've been for over 11 years. Putting that into numbers, I've spent $5000.00 on Celine just in the last six months...

I Think the tour is amazing. I have seen Celine during the Falling into you tou, LTAL tour (2 times) and this tour in ANtwerpen May 14. She used playback during the previous tours but at that time it wasnt that obvius because ther was no you tube etc. Off course i want everything to be live, but she is still amazing and blows everyone away. I don't know about the note in All by myself. In ANtwerp it sounded different as said before. The rest off the song is definately live! I am happy i was at a french show because of the lipping of To love you more etcetera. I was happy to see Celine after all those years and she blow me away once again!

The proof is really not needed, because it's obvious when you listen to it. But, I want to be reasonable with what I say here, and I don't want to be accused of falsely claiming something. Some of you are going to dislike me for this, but I didn't even have to spend over 5 minutes to make this video for you. It didn't take a genius to figure it out... Here it is...

hehehe, you know what? the fact that we discuss here which part/song is live must be really really funny for (if anyone from let's say "Celine's staff" is reading this forum) someone reading this, who KNOWS IT.

that proves two things -

1. it assures Celine and Rene to continue doing such playback, because the audience simply cannot catch it, so who cares:D

2. if it WAS live(because we simply don't know for sure ;>) so if those notes/songs (i mean AMB) was live, then Celine is a real master , to sing the same notes in the same combination in the same parts of the song.

She did this in other dates too like Sydney and Korea and other shows before the show came to Europe (singing the "dooooooooon't wanna live" bit differently at a few shows, but it seems since Manchester the ending has always been the same which is kinda boring.

That is so true...

They were playing it extremely safe (and boring) - I think when they noticed that the TC-album is not working that well they decided to take several steps back and just made a cheap mix of Vegas and her old tours.

 

And - as much as I like her - what kind of concert is that if you are known as a fantastic singer but you do all your signature songs playback? This lipsynching crap soaks the life out of these beautiful songs...

 

The whole concept for this tour, the setlist, the arrangements, the old playbacks are major signs for being unbelievably uncreative....

 

Her husband needs to retire urgently and a new creative team has to be brought in...

Otherwise this tour is some sort of her swan song....

 

I have heared so many negative comments and critics about this tour - this usually never happens for an artist like Celine who is known for being amazing live - she usually even blows her haters away.

 

This time she messed up big time, I think.
