If "I Wish" goes into the setlist then the whole concept of "taking chances" is a huge joke. Talk about NOT taking chances, talk about taking the EASY way out, and talk about being UNcreative. Seriously, what the heck is going on with this tour? She may as well have stayed in Las Vegas if she's going to perform that many songs from A New Day... in the same fashion. Even the choreography for "Rive Deep, Mountain High" is practically the same (from what I've seen on YouTube).

Yes indeed - big parts have just been taken over from Vegas.

The complete ending (including the lipsynched MHWGO, RDMH, LCMM - can anybody still hear this song? I can´t..), POL as the second song, the medley IACBTM/TLYM/BYLM,

everything of course with the same playback she is using for centuries.

 

If somebody would have told me before that concert that she would deliver such an extremely lame show I would have not believed a word - but I would say that out of all the many concerts I have seen this concert was one of the worst. It is funny - she gave me the best concert experience in my life back in 99 and the worst a couple of weeks ago with this tour that is lacking any concept, any artistical approach - as you said, totally uncreative and dull.

From what all of you have put on the forum with the videos and the images, I like it so far but I do feel that some of it was rushed a little bit and in some of the videos it didn't seem like she was all that into it. I still like her concert though. Whatever she does is surely going to please me!

What a shame! I remember the scandal now, I had forgotten about it. I hate reading that quote and then knowing about how often she does it nowadays though. She has lipped this last year and a half more than ever! I almost hope she gets nailed for it so it will make her stop!

I agree - because thats what her artistry is about in the end - singing live.

 

She is not a writer, not a showgirl, she is one of the best singers in the pop industry.

 

But if such a great singer is miming the two opening songs, three of her greatest hits and her biggest success which is the closing of her concert it leaves more than a bad aftertaste - I think it is embarrassing for her as an artist and a slap in the face of her fans.

We all adore Celine, we all love her voice but EVERYTHING in that video is something we should all be sorely disappointed in but honestly, no-one should be more disappointed than Celine herself. No-one would slam Celine for not singing "The Power Of Love" or equivalent songs every night, she's got one of the biggest back catalogues in music history, simply sing songs you can sing live. The funny thing is... there are still so many fans out there living in this fantasy world of believing that Celine is singing LIVE EVERY SINGLE NOTE - when they truly know that she's not.

It's most funny to see them at concerts when she finishes a lipped "high note" and ends the song... All of a sudden, they turn to a person next to them and brag, "Did you hear that!? Did YA hear that!? Wasn't that amazing or WHAT!?" :sofunny:

Telling somebody "you're not a good fan" just makes me laugh. What are we, in grade school?

I almost want to cry seeing how fantastic she was in her early days - when she was hitting those notes LIVE, that was real, that was true emotion, amazing - not just striking a pose to a playback and make a proud and exhausted face like she just won a boxing fight.

Like you said, she has an amazing back catalogue, no one would blame her for not doing these extreme vocal things in every song - she could either keep those songs more simple (which in my opinion would even do the songs a favour) or just do two or three over-the-top-belters, make those the real highlights of the concert instead of faking it. No one needs that.

The most embarrassing moment was "I drove all night" in Vienna when the playback did not work - that one part when she climbs on the piano - unbelievable - soooo bad.

I have heared rumours that Perez Hilton is interested in this playback thing - I can´t wait till this makes the headlines.

Maybe it starts some sort of healing process for her.....

This world tour was never in Celine's plans. I remember her saying that after Vegas, she wanted to be in much smaller venues and do "something light, something unplugged".

I paid 125pounds to see her in a front row in Birmingham and flew from Bangkok,Thailand just to see her but what I've got is she lipsyning in many of het hits that I expected her to nail them all LIVE! Those song such as It's all coming back to me now,To Love You More The Power Of Love and all of my dream were destoyed when she mimed the song like My Heart Will Go On,her signatured song.It hurt me so much when she did that cause all the trip and all the money that I spent is just to hear her glorious voice through those songs.I think I can just go to GAYPUB! and see dragquen!! who dress up and look just like her doing the same thing that she did,miming with her pre recording and spend all the money for that trip on the suite room of the 5 stars hotel in Pattaya,Thailand instead of flying all the way to UK,so dissapointing!!
