But it doesn't mean he's forcing her to do things she doesn't want to do, or that she's miserable and they have a huge relationship crisis... Quote

Cuz I thought we were just having a discussion and expressing our opinions, until you started talking about magnets and fish... :mdr: LOL Oh, Jacqui, I'm just joking... You know I'm full of LOVE And I seriously didn't make it up #7 and #12... they're all taken from here:http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/keeper And Martin, are you saying that Jacqui worships Celine?!? She must have a Celine shrine that she bows to everytime the clock strikes 5:55? Kidding again... So, back to the topic: I don't have much to say, actually. What I feel is that both Celine and Rene see the potentials of making money from this tour and from all their ventures. And we're not talking little things. The Vegas deal was $100 million for 3 years, and between $25 million to $100 million for the two additional years. Then, there's this mega tour, booking stadiums and mega-arenas and potentially making hundreds of millions of dollars more. Then, there is the perfume line, the jewelry line... and it goes on and on. So, to hear that Celine will extend her World Tour into a second leg for 2009 does not surprise me at all. I would not be surprised if someday soon, there will be a lot of Celine Dion buildings, plazas, resorts, monuments popping up everywhere, like Trump. Because these are investments that will yield even more money. Money is a great magnet. I'm not sure if Celine is tired. She gets to travel the world, be honored, be glorified, sing for less than a couple of hours, make so much money, AND she has her family by her side. If I were her, I'd have a lot of energy and sleep very well... Edited July 17, 2008 at 01:49 PM by Love, Quote

I also never knew you would think my posts sound religious. I wasn't trying to! It's true that I don't like it when people say bad things about Celine, but the whole point of a forum is for everyone to express their opinions, so I kind of expected that we would disagree and criticize one another, from time to time! Hopefully that's not a problem. Anyway, that was funny about the keeper thing (now that I get it haha!) It's midnight here, so I'm gonna go sleep in my pond now...goodnight. Quote

If I were her, I'd have a lot of energy and sleep very well... [/color] I have no doubts that Celine sleeps well - but the issue is that I´m not sleeping that well anymore after loosing faith in my "strike a pose and hit the high notes as no one can"-diva Celine....I think I just have to let it go - honestly, besides the money, I think she is on the wrong trail artistically - and I am not forgiving this "Missing Chances"-concert-dissappointment... To me she always stood for glitter, perfection, delivering the cheesiest stuff so convincing that you almost believed it (as when she dedicates songs to all the children in the world and so on)... I loved her for the mix of goofyness, being over the top but at the same time being able to sing like no one else. It is honestly not that easy (don´t make fun of me ) - this is probably why I was posting such harsh comments sometimes - this concert really made me not wanting to listen to her music anymore, it was such a let down for me to see what "my ultimate number one diva" did when she delivered the same old playbacks, same speeches and centuries old arrangements on this dull stage. And it is unforgivable to close a concert with a playback version of MHWGO. Never say never, but I am done with her for now. Edited July 17, 2008 at 02:10 PM by MartinMunich Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted July 17, 2008 at 02:12 PM Posted July 17, 2008 at 02:12 PM Her previous world tours were not 100% live, so why hope/expect/beg/demand her NOW to do things differently? Now that music is no longer the end-all and be-all pursuit that it was to her in the past? Lipsynching will continue to be part and parcel of her shows, whether you like it or not. Of course, she is not asking me permission to do that anyways Doesn´t change the fact that I don´t like it and I think it is inappropriate for her. And, if she wants to do her playback stuff she should a least spend some effort on recording new versions and new arrangements and not dump these 12-year-old recordings on her audience who - i know i am repeating myself- payed a fortune to see her. I lost faith but not entirely....just hope i think....i lost hope haha. It took alot of getting used to her 'new voice' and new way of singing but im over it now and i think this tour was sooo much better sounding than anything ive heard of vegas and as has been said above all her tours have had play back....her drummer tried to expose her on the lets talk about love tour for lipping songs. So its pretty standard unfortunately and now thta shes older i think theres almost good reason too....shes doing so many shows a night she doesnt wanna wrek herself. (Although you could say she should do less shows and sing all the songs? haha) But over all i think its unfair to say that the stage was bland etc and the concert was a let down, for me i was just happy to see celine, i thought the rest was an added bonus! I think if the overall experience would have been better this miming thing wouldn´t be such a big issue to a lot of people. But the concert was rushed through, the sound was bad, the stage terrible and on top of that she is miming the opening and the closing of her concert (amongst others). All this things combined just gave the impression that they did not really care much, they did not really think much about something great and new - it is just the same 90s stuff, partly in playback over and over again. At least they bothered to put a tent on stage for her dress changes and not have her doing it behind the drums or so... Edited July 18, 2008 at 11:57 AM by MartinMunich Quote
