RLAAMJR. Posted January 16, 2008 at 01:48 PM Posted January 16, 2008 at 01:48 PM I think, it'll be difficult for Celine Dion to win this since she's competing with chinese singers and China has the biggest population. Quote

fabtasticfoo Posted January 16, 2008 at 06:05 PM Posted January 16, 2008 at 06:05 PM Nooooo! I have just two (utterly selfish) words: Vancouver 2010. That's been in the back of my mind since the bid selection in 2003. And I've been thinking, "would they ever ask a singer back to do the Olympics for the second time?" It seemed unlikely, but possible. A third time just seems totally out of the question. Oh well. Of course I wish Celine the best of luck. Performing in Beijing would be huge. Quote
rhaps Posted January 17, 2008 at 12:17 AM Posted January 17, 2008 at 12:17 AM you know i would love to see celine i the olympics again...but i don't want to be rude...but chinese were really nationalistics and supports there own....i guess it will a chinese artist who would sing...but who knows....celine may be chosen. grobandion Posted January 17, 2008 at 04:00 PM Posted January 17, 2008 at 04:00 PM I am not going to vote, and I think you shouldn't either. First of all, there's no reason for her to sing the official song of the games. It should be someone from China, or at least from Asia. Them I think it's not good for her to make ANOTHER theme song for Olympic games, enough is enough, and songs from these events are everything but cool; something she desperate needs to be. Quote

Dion, who earned the admiration of Chinese fans with "My Heart Will Go On," moved audiences with her performance of "The Power of the Dream," at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. PosterIn a video message to the Chinese public, Dion said that it was the power of the dream that enabled the Chinese people to realize their dream of the Olympics. And on April 14, during a concert at Beijing Worker's Stadium, she will perform a special song that she feels is the perfect fit for the Beijing Olympic slogan "One World One Dream." Kan Ke, deputy director of BOCOG's cultural activities department, expressed hope that the Beijing Olympic Games could have a musical piece that would appeal to people all over the world. During the press conference, former Chinese gymnast Sang Lan received the first ticket for the concert, with a special serial number of "20080808." miracle_girl Posted January 18, 2008 at 02:14 AM Posted January 18, 2008 at 02:14 AM Whoo hoo do you know how much good publicity that would be!!if she did get the chance of course!! which i hope she does!!at the moment celine is all about breaking records!!it would be a record if she was the first singer to sing two different olympic games!! Its not impossible!! "A world to believe in" would be a great choice!! Quote http://file041b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/02/21/19/3639616524a6958591691l.jpgCeline - May 8th @ The 02! Cant Wait!! <3

Bellamy Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:54 AM Author Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:54 AM I already told you. There's no poll. It's all depends on the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee. It would be a secret untill the opening ceremony. They won't tell which song would be the theme song. And there're tons of entries. SO don't get your hope too high. But it's cool she would sing a new song at the Beijing concert. I heard she would also sing another new song in Shanghai for Shanghai EXPO 2010. Prince Whiskers Posted January 18, 2008 at 06:08 AM Posted January 18, 2008 at 06:08 AM Just a few questions, Bellamy: 1. How many people are there in the selection committee?2. Are they all involved in music?3. Is campaigning allowed? Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg
