I'm not sure I know those songs but I will certainly try to find them and the lyrics and translate them for you... Oh, thank you so much. I love that translation. That song is so beautiful. Those are songs from when she was younger. The first one was off of her La Voix Du Bon Dieu album and the second one is off of her first christmas album (?) Chante Noel, I"m pretty sure. I'll be looking forward to the translations. Quote http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg280/spoiledrottenbrat4063/Celine%20Dion/CELINESIGGY.jpg
celine4evauk Posted June 30, 2009 at 07:42 PM Posted June 30, 2009 at 07:42 PM I am so glad somebody has asked for another translation. I have some free time at the moment and am very happy to oblige! Mon reve de toujours Across a cloud-covered beachI was running, I was runningAnd all around me I could hear the cryOf the wind, the sea and the storms Against the waves, against my tearsI was running, I was runningAnd I knew that I would meet something magicalAnd there you were It’s my never-ending dreamAt the end of the most awful daysYou are there, you are thereAnd I see the world light upIt’s the dream I have,Today more than everYou are there, you are thereAnd my life will change with you In a strange and empty townI am alone, I am aloneShadows scare meI will lose myself to drown myselfBut you come and you save me It’s my never-ending dreamAt the end of the most awful daysYou are there, you are thereAnd I see the world light upIt’s the dream I have,Today more than everYou are there, you are thereAnd my life will change with you Thank You! What does the title translate into if I may ask? This is such a beautiful song. Thank you for translating it for me. Do you also have time to do the translation for Tire L'aiguille? and Quatre Pas D'ici? Thank you also. A Quatre Pas D'ici is the french version of the song The Land Of Make Believe by Bucks Fizz. minolli Posted August 25, 2009 at 04:15 AM Posted August 25, 2009 at 04:15 AM Can someone translate a song for me, please? Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi. I have seen it translated on a few fansites, but it didn't really make any sense. Oh, that's one of my absolute favorites! Here's my attempt at a translation: All the blues are written for you "I woke up this morning baby,The blues was pouring out of me”I said these words a hundred timesThese words that others have writtenWith all my voice, will all my soul“with all the soul that I can”The blues as I was taught “I woke up this morning baby”But that morning, I understood The sorrow in the cotton fieldsI was imagining my cocoonThe blows, the blood, the muddy weatherI was suffering while closing my eyes“His baby’s far away”I have forgiveness, I have prayersBut the blues aren’t phrases in the air “I woke up this morning, baby”But this morning you’re really coldYou understand deep in your coreAll the blues are written for you “Oh, oh I feel the blues in meNobody knows how I really feelNobody knows, nobody cares”The words burn you one by one, as ifAs if they finally belong to youThese blues were yours With all my voice, all my soul“with all the soul that I can”The blues I was never taught“I woke up this morning, the blues was pouring out of meNobody knows, nobody sees” To me, it seems that the song has to do with coming to a personal realization or understanding of the suffering of others through your own grief and troubles, but that's just what I get out of it... Natiwan Posted July 18, 2010 at 02:55 PM Posted July 18, 2010 at 02:55 PM It's really interesting to see how celine's songs give you the desire to understand the french language! I have a question if you have time to answer me : what are the differences between her english songs and her french ones in your idea? I don't know really well the english ones, but I think that in english the "performance" is very important but in french it is more about emotion, less technic, more nuances. Is there many people in here who like her french songs without understand what they mean? Sorry if I'm too long in this post, I'm curious about you people. PS : I'm very sorry about my poor english...I hope you understand what I mean... Quote I'm just a JJG "fan", I'm here by accident!

Without understanding them I liked the songs, but once I learned the words it was a whole new thing.. I find her French songs to be even more emotional than the English ones, and in a more poetic way. Quote

PS : I'm very sorry about my poor english...I hope you understand what I mean...I would love to understand and speak french fluently some day but as for right now I know a couple words in french just from listening to her songs and the translations from this thread helped me a lot. As for her french songs.. I know a lot of their meanings but not individual words and phrases. There is so much emotion behind the lyrics and I've heard that it is more about the lyric and not the performance. To me Céline always sings with passion but when she sings in french there's a different feeling. She really feels the song and captures the emotion that the words express. Quote

Haha, I see what you mean, but the lyrics to PQTME are simply amazing. The last verse always gets to me: Plus brillante plus belle pour une autre étincelleJe me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore. I'll make myself brighter, more beautiful, to rekindle the spark. I'll turn myself to gold, so that you love me still....... ^^This was the first French-language Celine song I learned; I wanted to understand what the song means. Boy, was it a smart choice! That said, I speak English and am semi-fluent in Italian, so French isn't exactly my speciality. But her songs are beyond linguistics! Quote Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/patjsully
