Could you or someone else please describe what kind of "change" Sen. Obama will bring that will benefit the U.S.? J 1. enegry independence (renewable energies)2. sign the Cyoto protocol3. end the war in Iraq and focus on Afghanistan4. abolish Guantánamo5. working with the UN/reinforce it6. tax cuts for the middle class7. new economic philosophy (more regulation of the financial markets)8. actually caring about our (your allies) opinions9. reform bureaucracy10. generational change in politics, first black president11. bring America together (he has been way less negative than McCain)12. universal health care13. more taxes for the wealthy ("they can afford it" John McCain)14. more stem cell research15. more gun control these are the main points. America would go in a fundamentally new direction, which is good, when 80% say your country is heading in the wrong direction. SarahJB5 Posted October 29, 2008 at 05:17 AM Posted October 29, 2008 at 05:17 AM Want to help Obama get elected? Your way to get the Vote OUT: http://www.cnnbcvideo.com/index.html?nid=v...1355109-A0a8ubx (so this doesn't happen) Funny, but this would NEVER happen because the president is NOT decided by the popular vote (because that would make too much damm sense!), they win based on the number of electoral votes they receive. (Each state has its own number of electoral votes, if the candidate wins the state, they get all electoral votes for that state...did I lose anyone? LOL) As in 2000, Al Gore got more popular votes than Bush, but Bush won with more electoral votes...yeah, tell me that isn't messed up. So to say every vote matters, isn't necessarily true...however I WILL vote for Obama next Tuesday (just before heading to Chi town to see Celine!!!). I know all that, but McCain could win in one of these states with one vote and pass the 270 threshold of electoral votes needed to become president with this state.SO GO VOTE (If you can) Edited October 29, 2008 at 09:18 PM by manilou Quote http://s03.flagcounter.com/count/idbH/bg=FFFFFF/txt=000000/border=CCCCCC/columns=6/maxflags=248/viewers=3/labels=0/.jpg
