Jen hasn't posted on this thread for a while. Without meaning to sound sarcastic I'd be genuinely interested to hear her take on the past few days' events. :) Edited by amyja89

Colin Powell endorses Obama.

Another blow for McCain.

Yep! :)

And for anyone who doesn't know this already: Colin Powell was a former Secretary of State for George Bush, Sr.

 Collin Powell was in the Bush Administration for W bush but resigned shortly after invading Iraq

He must not want to be part of a curropt History and thinks we had enough so he endorsed Obama!

I just hope Obama's supporters come thru for him and we can finally have some Change

I didn't know that already because it's not true. He was Secretary of State for George Bush, Jr.

Listening to the 3 debates and many Obama speeches, I am still unsure of what "change" Sen. Obama will bring. Could you or someone else please describe what kind of "change" Sen. Obama will bring that will benefit the U.S.?

1. enegry independence (renewable energies)

2. sign the Cyoto protocol

3. end the war in Iraq and focus on Afghanistan

4. abolish Guantánamo

5. working with the UN/reinforce it

6. tax cuts for the middle class

7. new economic philosophy (more regulation of the financial markets)

8. actually caring about our (your allies) opinions

9. reform bureaucracy

10. generational change in politics, first black president

11. bring America together (he has been way less negative than McCain)

12. universal health care

13. more taxes for the wealthy ("they can afford it" John McCain)

14. more stem cell research

15. more gun control

these are the main points. America would go in a fundamentally new direction, which is good, when 80% say your country is heading in the wrong direction.

Want to help Obama get elected?

Your way to get the Vote OUT:

http://www.cnnbcvideo.com/index.html?nid=v...1355109-A0a8ubx (so this doesn't happen)

Funny, but this would NEVER happen because the president is NOT decided by the popular vote (because that would make too much damm sense!), they win based on the number of electoral votes they receive. (Each state has its own number of electoral votes, if the candidate wins the state, they get all electoral votes for that state...did I lose anyone? LOL) As in 2000, Al Gore got more popular votes than Bush, but Bush won with more electoral votes...yeah, tell me that isn't messed up. So to say every vote matters, isn't necessarily true...however I WILL vote for Obama next Tuesday (just before heading to Chi town to see Celine!!!).

I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!

Sophia and Anthony arrived on December 28, 2010

I know all that, but McCain could win in one of these states with one vote and pass the 270 threshold of electoral votes needed to become president with this state.

SO GO VOTE ;) (If you can)
