scorp82 Posted October 13, 2008 at 02:55 AM Posted October 13, 2008 at 02:55 AM (edited) The best for America it' s Obama Please I don't want another republican goverment. Make the love, not the war!! I honestly do not think the best for America is Obama. And mind you, I am a Democrat. I do not support the Republic ideology... I voted for Kerry in 2004 and I would have voted for Hillary had she become the Democratic nominee. As such, I do not like Bush's government. However, I will be voting for John McCain. For some reason, Obama does not convince me. I will say that he is a great, inspirational speaker. Yet I do not see any substance in his words. Obama has spoken about leaving Iraq soon... Yet he has also said that if necessary, we will go to Pakistan and kill Bin Laden and crush Al-Qaeda. Would that strategy not cause another long drawn war? And crushing Al-Qaeda entirely will not be simple... It is better said than done. Another war and occupation is the last thing we need right now. And if that happens, you better believe this country will have more and more problems. As much as I do not agree with an American occupation of Iraq, our troops cannot leave just yet. The Iraqi government must be able to create a more stable environment for the country first. If we were to leave Iraq now during these unstable moments, the country will certainly fall further to the dangers of insurgency and the real threat of the country becoming a breeding ground of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. Let's go back to the late 1970s when American and European forces arrived in Afghanistan to oust the invasion of Communist Russia. After the Russians were removed, the U.S. and European forces just left Afghanistan and did not help the country reach stability. As a result, Afghanistan became prime territory for the Taliban and terrorist organization. We are still dealing with Afghanistan 30 years later. So, we cannot afford for our next generations to continue dealing with Iraq 30 years from now. And I will say something else... I am not here to argue or criticize anyone. I am simply stating my point of view. We all can agree to disagree. Ultimately, we all don't have to agree in order to get along. Edited October 13, 2008 at 03:00 AM by scorp82 Quote
manilou Posted October 13, 2008 at 10:59 AM Posted October 13, 2008 at 10:59 AM According to polls Obama leads in the Electoral College: Obama: 359McCain: 169 Some states might vote democratic for the very first time. If i were american I'd of course vote for Obama. What scares me are these comments at McCain rallys, like I read about him and he's an Arab or people screaming Terrorist. All these negative ads have turned some people into stupid children or mobs and that's really scary. I hope Obama wins so these people see he's a good guy. I am simply stating my point of view. We all can agree to disagree. Ultimately, we all don't have to agree in order to get along. Do you honestly think that the invasion of the US Army in Iraq was a good thing for the Iraqis? And I mean honestly... Yes I know that Sadam wasn't the best friend of the USA and that he was a dictator and maybe also a bit a terrorist... But the people of Iraq hadn't it to bad back then... At least Sadam wasn't as bad as the deceased Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il from Northern Korea... Compared to North Korea people in Iraq had a decent live... At least before the USA invaded the country... They invaded Iraq on false grounds, until today, several years after the invasion they have still not found the weapons of mass destruction they claimed to find in Iraq. If you question an Iraqi he or she will tell that live was much better before the invasion by the USA... The best thing the USA can do at this point (and also the other army's present in Iraq) is leave the country as soon as possible and let the people there found their own country... The USA even removed North Korea from the terrorist list even though it's a more dangerous country than Iraq was back in those days... We'll have to wait after the elections but I certainly hope that Obama will win the elections and that he will change a lot... And yes, the withdrawal from Iraq is a very good thing... People (including Americans) are getting killed for no reason... Hope for the best but prepare for the worst... In this case is McCain unfortunately the worst thing that can happen to the USA... From Europe's point of view... (I know Americans will see it slightly different) Quote ...

Nmj Posted October 14, 2008 at 11:51 PM Author Posted October 14, 2008 at 11:51 PM (edited) Actually I did have a long conversation with him and I asked him if he thinks he is finally winning over all those disfunctional Clinton voters. He told me he hopes so and that he and Hillary have really grown to like each other (they always did) but even more now after this primary election believe it or not... I'm sure he knows about the broken up HC voters like Jen but I wanted to about other things. Since this would be my first election I could vote in. I cant stress enough just how NORMAL this man is... he is so approachable I'm so glad i met him makes my vote even more right for me! He stayed here 1 minute from my house for 4 Days!!! I forget to say I went looking FOR HIM but he HE CAME TO US...something I think McCain would never do. ON A SIDENOTE: Hillary was asked if she would ever consider ruuning for President in the future again and she replied saying almost close to a 0% chance she would run again. Wake up Jen... We need change!-Nmj Edited October 15, 2008 at 12:02 AM by Nmj Quote
