Alex_Incognito Posted November 5, 2008 at 11:02 AM Posted November 5, 2008 at 11:02 AM I am so proud of you, America!!!! It was AWESOME last night! I was in the Defense quarter of Paris watching the election coverage at an Official Obama rally last night. It was so intense, and the announcement of winning started a night of dancing and fun! Something I will never forget. America DOES want change! I am so pleased. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
Céline's Blues Posted November 5, 2008 at 11:40 AM Posted November 5, 2008 at 11:40 AM (edited) Barack came, Barack saw but the victory is yet to come! He will be president but he will be measured according to the toughest ever standards. He will have to prove himself big time, TRULY big time. I hereby believe him and Biden will deliver a magnificently efficient team very much, tho. Edited November 5, 2008 at 11:40 AM by Gavel gavel gavel Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Prince Whiskers Posted November 5, 2008 at 12:51 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 12:51 PM The Philippines was caught in the line of fire during the Second World War bec. it was a colony of the US at that time unlike neighboring countries Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia which were bypassed by the Japanese Imperial Army. When the war ended, we were left on our own to deal with the resulting devastation as the US poured all its resources to rebuild its former enemy Japan. To this day, native soldiers who fought side by side with the Americans are still fighting for their war benefits and not many of them are still alive. We were granted independence in 1945 but that came with a parity agreement giving Americans the right to exploit our natural resources for their benefit. I can talk about US support of the Marcos dictatorship and all that toxic waste (a cleanup effort at a cost of $3B is needed) left behind at a former naval base but... Say What? Posted November 5, 2008 at 02:29 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 02:29 PM The truth is Obama doesn't have as much support as you think he does. He has more support online but out in the real world more people support McCain. As far as polls showing him leading are concerned, you have to take a few things into account. One of them is the Bradley effect. People telling pollsters that they'll vote for Obama for fear if they don't they'll be deemed as racist. Though they do not intend on voting for him in the GE. The primaries proved this. People said one thing and voted another. Polls did not equal votes. It's always fun to go back and re-read stuff like that and have a good laugh. Yay for Barack!!!!!! Quote

Alex_Incognito Posted November 5, 2008 at 03:31 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 03:31 PM (edited) It sure is easy to mock people after the results, innit? I believe we've been mocking the rediculous things she's been saying for months now. Once rediculous, things normally remain rediculous. Someone 'making up facts' never is a good thing, especially to those that need to make up their mind, and many of her posts were not based on fact. Some were, yes. But not many. Lymon Posted November 5, 2008 at 08:53 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 08:53 PM It certainly seemed like a tight race, but in the end Obama won by a landside. I have to say I was actually quite suprised he won. I didn't think he would, I didn't think the young voters would actually get out there, but they did. And I refuse to share my political opinion Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
autumnskies00 Posted November 5, 2008 at 08:59 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 08:59 PM (edited) California passed prop 2 for farm animal rights. YAAAAY!!! but they also passed prop 8 against gay rights. Come on CA. how about equality for ALL living things. I believe there is going to be a protest for anyone who lives out there, if you're interested, there was news about it on perezhilton.com. I don't know how legit that is though. amyja89 Posted November 5, 2008 at 09:10 PM Posted November 5, 2008 at 09:10 PM BEST moment of the night... a British news channel had a reporter out in Time Square and he was interviewing people in the streets. He got to a guy, who looked directly into the camera and shouted "BUSH, PACK YO S***!". I laughed so hard I nearly choked on my breakfast! Quote

Nmj Posted November 6, 2008 at 01:21 AM Author Posted November 6, 2008 at 01:21 AM I'm so happy that this turned out the way it did ...We need change here and to rebuild our appreciation around the world. I did campaign with the Obama Campaign and I have to say John McCain is truly a great man... I saw that in his speech yesterday, His speech was SO REAL he wasnt faking...YEAH he was mad he isnt president i would be too but at the same time he talked straight to the us (The American People saying that Obama is now his President too and that he will try to make Obama proud as a citizen once Obama is sworn in. As an American I'm ready for change and rebuilding our Country i hope Obama will make us proud ( Im sure he will) but time will tell. Very Historic Days here in the United States Ive never seen people so full of energy in New York Times Square filled the streets for Obama....Chicago, California, Florida all takingit to the streets partying praying and Hoping for change while witnessing HISTORY as the first Black President elected to office. I'm also really happy that Obama has two young girls who can grow up in the white house!!! This is SOOOO Exciting only time will tell what our fait is now...But at least we know a man named George W. Bush will NOT be calling the shots anymore!!!-Nmj Quote

ashleylovesceline Posted November 6, 2008 at 07:50 AM Posted November 6, 2008 at 07:50 AM I try not to discuss politics, but since there's a topic dedicated to it... I voted for the first time ever. I never took part in elections or politics before, but something about Barak Obama made me care, made me believe my vote could make a difference this time. And I really felt like it has. I truly believe in him and what he plans to do. We need someone to lead us all in a new and better direction, and I have faith that we have elected the right person to do just that. I waited two hours in line, and then stayed up all night watching the results -- truly proud. No matter what your political stance, you have to admit it has been a while since a candidate has inspired so many young people like myself to get out there and vote. Quote

I thought McCain did an amazing speech after "losing". On the other hand... Sarah Palin sounded very bitter, saying Obama had more money and people behind him... I wonder if she really thinks she could have beaten him if she had the money... Sarah, wake up! The #1 reason for not voting McCain was because of her!!!
