Young People Who Like Celine

I have been a fan of Celine Dion since I was 12 years old. 14 years later, she is still my absolute favorite and I was delighted to see her in concert for the first time in December of 2008. Somehow her music seems to resonate with people regardless of how old they may be.

It's annoying but if I told people in my school I'm Celine fan they would probably think I'm a gay, while I'm not.

I know, I hate that stereotype, im not gay and luckily no one has called me gay because I listen to Celine... but surprisingly even though I'm the probably biggest Celine fan in my whole school as far as I know and that not many people listen to her, I was surprised that lots of students knew who she was and I didn't expect them too, but also lots of people know who she is because I talk about her so much Like the other day as I was leaving Spanish class while talking about Celine with my teacher one of my friends came in and he's like let me guess, you're talking about Celine? And I said yup, and he was like youre so obsessed Romic then he said Celine is one of the most famous singers in the world because she's known internationally and I was like she sure is! I love getting Celine conversations started, I dont know why its just fun lol..

Yeah, same thing here. I don't want people to be like... "wow, you like Celine Dion... you're so gay!".... so I don't tell many I'm a Celine fan.

 

My sister does that for me and all her friends think I'm gay because of it. *sigh*

Hi, i'm 15 years old, I have loved Celine for about two years now. no one has really teased me for being a fan! My old teacher used to call me celine, and sometimes my parents do to! my friends does not have a problem with me being a fan. And i'm not afraid to tell everyone how much i love her because i'm so proud to be a fan of her, she is the best thing that's ever happened to me and that will never change !

I too am guilt of being a Celine Dion fan!! I'm 17 and have been a huge fan for about four years and thankfully all of my friends and family support me in my "obsession" as they so kindly put it. Its fortunate that so many of us haven't been teased for being a Celine fan and hopefully it stays that way!!!!

I am 15 years old I love Celine Dion, and a lot of people think I'm weird (to say the least) because of it. When I saw her perform in 2002 on her "A New Day Has Come" special I was captivated, and have loved her ever since. As I was reading some of the posts here a noticed that there were a lot of young guys and girls who like Celine, and I was wondering if anyone of them are made fun of for liking her. I hate it when someone says that she "sucks". How do you deal with it when or if you're riddiculed for liking her?

 

Well,i was 16 when i fell in love with Celine,but don't worry about that.I had first problems in my home cuz my dad thought that i was obsessed and he got over it.In the same time,i had problems with some of my friends too,but at the end i realized that i should have been the way im from beginning and not hiding a lot,so be this way and don't let anybody to f..up with u.We like what we like and don't care for others .

The first time listened to Célines music was in 2006 and the first song was of course MHWGO, and i was on youtube and i searched on "Celine Dion" and so i heard all the hits you know TPOL,TT,BYLM.. And i became a fan there. And i listening to her music every day and i still do.

she has inspired me so much, i had a hard time and she helped me with her songs, she makes me happy when i hear her voice. I come from Denmark and i would love to come to her show i las vegas.

So I searched more music and when I heard Je ne vous oublie pas, I really became a fan of her. And like Anna, I still listening to her music every day.

Unfortunately, my friends don't like Céline and think she's boring But they don't know Céline the way we do (Haha I don't know if that's good English )

Céline cheers me up with her music when I'm feeling down but my best friends accept that I'm a fan of Céline (They have to, because I talk a lot about Céline )

But well, I ignore most of the people who talk bad about Céline

But I have a lot of 'Céline-friends' and they understand me when I'm excited about Céline

I have also a friend in my class who is a Céline fan but she is not a fan like us or someone of us. And i had also heard some songs in french and wow it's all i can say, i don't understand the language, but i like hers french songs. Ok im rather older (33) lol but ive been a fan of Celines since 1995 when i first saw her in concertand she blew me away and Think Twice was number one and The colour of my love album was number one for many weeks its kinda rubbed off on my six year od daughter as she loves Celine too i took her to see Through the eyes of the world with me and she said Celine was "awsome !"

I work for the University of Liverpool and we go around primary schools and today I was in a school asking what kids want to do when they grow up and one girl said a midwife or a singer like Celine Dion. I was so impressed I gave her extra house points haha

I'm amazed on how many "recent" fans there are...people who have became fans from 2005-present! That is awesome! I became a fan in 1997/1998 during the whole MHWGO/Titanic frenzy! LOL. I was 12 at the time. I was immediately drawn by the voice, then everything else followed.

 

Cheers to Celine's younger fan-base and that it may continue to grow on & on & on... Celine is a living legend and will have continued success for many years to come!

I agree, most of the people who don't like her, know only MHWGO, but Céline has so much more music then only MHWGO! A lot of people are very surprised when I tell them I'm a fan of Céline, because they don't know that there are so many young fans Céline is really a living legend (just like Lawna said) and she has a lot of young fans!

Im 16 and I LOVE Celine. I first heard her at my friends birthday party two years ago, when I was 14. Some of the kids were on youtube and one of them played MHWGO. That is the first Celine song I heard. After I heard that song I went home and looked up a few more of her songs. Now I know almost all of her songs by heart, I listen to her music every day. Alot of people do think Im weird. My family doesnt like her that much, and most of my friends dont either. My best friend didn't like her at all when I first started listening to her, but since I play Celines song so much around her, shes come to like her alot and knows most of her songs as well.

I've been listening to Celine's music on and off now since 2009 and there was a time where I stopped because I felt regret and embarassment, but I think I've found myself now. Lucky for me, students at my college don't tease me about it. However I know for a fact that if I revealed it during my secondary school days, I would have become the laughing stock! I think some people have only heard the Titanic theme, maybe if they heard Celine's other tracks they might understand how good she is. I recently got my friend into Celine's music, played him some tracks from the one heart album and his view's are kinda changed now, he's into screamo btw.

I'm 21, and can remember watching the video for "The Power of Love" in the morning while getting ready for school. My Mom was a big fan so she rubbed off on me. However, when she got the Falling Into You album, that's when I became the real fan So, I'd have to say I was probably 8 or 9 when I fell in love with her.

That's pretty much the same timeline/how it happened for me. Celine and Sarah McLachlan were always playing as I grew up, but Celine won.

In January 1998, right after Titanic came out in theatres, I fell in love with My Heart Will Go On (and I assume a lot of people became Celine fans because of that song). I went to the see the film, and when the ending credits began to roll, no one left from their seats, including myself. That song, for some reason resonated with people in a way no other song has seemed to do before, or since. Anyway, that is when my admiration for her became full-fledged. I already had her Falling into You album beforehand, but it was because of Titanic, and MHWGO that made me a fan. I was 8 years old then, and now I'm 20. Celine's been there every step of the way.
