i grew up listening to Celine.. my mom has been a fan since unison came out.. i remember hearing beauty and the beast when i was like 7 and i loved her then. I am 23 now (not sure if can say I'm "Young") but i became a huge fan in 1998 when titanic came out.. i was obsessed with the movie and MHWGO and i got made fun of constantly.. i first saw Celine on her LTAL tour when she stopped in Denver, my mom got tickets for my birthday and i wasn't even excited until the show started and she sang "Let's Talk About Love". That night changed my life and since then I can say Celine is my idol. I have friends who make fun of me because they say she is old.. then i say she is only 41 and they are like.. oh? haha. I wish Celine had more of a following but i guess that makes those of us who follow her even more special. I will be a fan from now until she is gone. I'd rather be a Celine fan that be a fan of some slut who is in and out of rehab. My first trip to Las Vegas was specifically to see A New Day. Vegas was my first time flying and traveling really. Oh Celine... i love you

I 've always liked Céline's music a lot.

When I was little I listened to her songs on the radio. In '99 My heart will go on was played over and over again. I didn't know the words but I always blaaablaaa'd allong with the music. My mother had a couple of cd's I listened a lot to...

Then, almost 2 years ago my mother told me she wanted to go Céline's concert. I was like, okay, who is that. So, I searched for Céline Dion on youtube and found all those old songs. I was like OMG is THIS Céline.

After I've been to her concert last year, I am a big fan, actually I can call myself totally obsessed with Céline.

I can't describe what her music means to me. Céline has become my idol.

She gives me strenght and keeps me going.

 

This summer I'm going on vacation to Las Vegas. My parents had planned to go there 2 years ago, but because my father had only one week off then, we went to Cyprus.

Now I feel a bit sad because, when I finally go to Las Vegas, Céline isn't there anymore!

If we had gone there 2 years ago, we definitely would have seen her show...

Well, anyway, at least I'm going to Las Vegas.

 

Now, I'm 16, nearly 17 and I'm pretty sure je t'aimerai Céline tout ma vie.

i'm a youngish fan as well! lol i'm 19 years old, but i've been a HUGE fan since i was 16..i grew up listening to her music though.. i remember the first song i heard of hers was Beauty and the Beast when i was 3 or 4..i completely fell in LOVE with her voice. i absolutely adored The Power of Love, and i can still picture myself at 6 years old swinging on my swingset in my yard singing along to it! i also listened to the Falling Into You album alot bc my mom had it. then when Titanic came out when i was 8, pretty much my whole 2nd grade class loved her lol. but once she announced her "retirement" i was the only one who was legit sad about it. haha so i guess my obsession/celiniacism was really meant to be! i wasnt into her that much in middle school [of course i still listened to her] i even bought myself the A New Day Has Come CD. however, i became a superfan in 10th grade when i danced to Seduces Me for competition. and that's when it all began.. forget it, i idolize that woman now!

 

anyway, i was never really given a hard time that much for liking Celine. my friends all like her [of course not as much as me!] and we dance & sing along to her and make silly vids [still do!] generally, people respect my love for Celine, but i do get an occasional joke or 2 when people find out how much i adore her, like "she's old!" or "she still makes music/is still around?" or "WHY??" or they call her a has-been :/ some people wonder why i like her so much, and dont understand how come i dont like "popular" music..which i do! i like all kinds of music, and i really love some popular songs, but celine has a place in my soul forever. sometimes i do feel like a minority when it comes to Celine, but i really don't care. i havent met anyone in person who is a big celine fan, but the people ive met on here and on facebook has been amazing so far and i hope to meet all of you soon!

 

but i do have to wonder- with over 200 million albums sold, how can people say that celine sucks or doesnt make good music anymore? hello, ALOT of people had to buy her albums, and i'm sure that in every household, you'd find at least one celine CD there or at least one song of hers on their mp3s! there's nothing wrong with that! people think its embarrassing to like Celine. wth! lol thats the one thing that makes me made the most when it comes to talking negatively about celine, "she's not cool, she's old now, she sucks." blah blah blah..some of these celine bashers need to grow up and just admit that Celine is awesome! i say it loud & i say it proud: I LOVE CELINE DION. <3

I am 15 years old I love Celine Dion, and a lot of people think I'm weird (to say the least) because of it. When I saw her perform in 2002 on her "A New Day Has Come" special I was captivated, and have loved her ever since. As I was reading some of the posts here a noticed that there were a lot of young guys and girls who like Celine, and I was wondering if anyone of them are made fun of for liking her. I hate it when someone says that she "sucks". How do you deal with it when or if you're riddiculed for liking her?

I'd much rather listen to a woman with a gob-smackingly brilliant voice attack an emotional ballad and have my heart strings tugged, than listen to some talentless hip-hop artist's pitch-corrected, auto-toned vocals over a sleazy, generic, recycled R&B beat.

 

I'm also a huge Mariah Carey fan but, as you've probably just guessed, I'm not very appreciative of her recent material. Just because they're by her I can actually enjoy her more recent albums, and she can still pull off a good ballad or pop tune, but I much prefer her 90s music. Her voice is also disappointingly weak these days.

Same here, I don't care if people might call me gay or weird.. I hate when people put stereotypes on music, and I remember in class, someone said a boy listening to Beyonce? as if it were a bad thing and he's like its "girly pop".. And I asked a friend for her opinion on whether its wrong for a boy to listen to Beyonce, I was just curious as to what she thought and she said no, you can listen to whatever you want and Im like exactly.. haha really 5 yrs old? i dont think i knew celine existed back then. I'm 22 and I simply LOVE her. i guess i started loving her when i was learning french (i was about 9 yrs old) and our teacher used to play some of celine's french songs at the end of each lesson. when i heard her voice i was really mesmerised and i wanted to hear more of her songs. i remember asking my teacher to give me some of her songs even if they were ugly ones. it's funny i told her that i just want to listen to her beautiful voice.

 

from that time, i started following her career!!!! and i love her MUCH MORE!!!!! apart from being a great dinger, she's certainly a great woman too.
