I guess the show wasn't sold out because of the postponing. Maybe it has been sold out originally but many people couldn't change their plans/flights/hotels when it got postponed and simply returned their tickets...

WOW...WOW...WOW, way to go you guys. Such wonderful photos & videos. Celine AJ: this is the first time I've seen a review from a sound check, thanks. I recently decided not to invest the $2000. for my partner and I to attend the one in Paris on May 27th and now I'm wondering if I made the right choice (but my kids need an education and I have to set my priorities). I figured Celine would come over and talk to the group who paid for the experience, and that was very nice. And good for you for your patience and determination in getting a nice pic with her; you two look great together!! Cheers to you all and to all Happy Celine Times!

I saw you on Sunday night! You rocked girl, too bad I was at the back that night. Saturday night everyone was standing up in the front. I was second row. I wanted to come down there and join ya on Sunday because you were really into it, and that's how my sister and I were on Saturday. I loved hyping up the crowd and Celine. We were lucky to have two nice guys behind us on saturday who let us stand up the entire night. BTW how nice is Celine Dion?? She always acknowledges the people in the crowd, smiles, blows kisses waves, pulls funny faces. She was too awesome and really connected with everyone who was into the show. Great pics!

Congratulations to those of you who met her!!! I walked past the hotel she was staying in, last week, but I didn't see her, and I didn't stay around... Anyway I'm glad you got to meet her, that's awesome!

I took a few pics on Sunday night but they turned out soooo bad. Makes me kind of wish I'd taken pics on Saturday when we had better seats, but oh well. I'll just print the ones from newspaper articles or something and stick them on my wall I guess LOL.

Hi all,

 

I have found out the situation with the Sydney concerts.

 

The first show on the Saturday had the Arena operating at full capacity of 21,000 people.

 

Promoters added a second concert with the Arena in "inimate mode" only which seats 10,500 people hence the big curtains running around the top level.

 

They do it so well that you would not even know if you didn't know the Arena well.

 

The second concert was in intimate mode as promoters wanted to keep ticket prices at the original prices and did not want to discount to fill 21,000 seats as there is only so much demand at prices of $300-$400.

 

As such 31,000 people saw her in Sydney which is still great. (Melbourne had about 15,000 and Brissy 12,000 - both at capacity)

 

Celine was paid $1M USD per concert in Australia.

It was my first mainstream 'pop' show....if you haven't already had a look at my past music photo's - I'd only done Rock/Heavy Metal genre artists - first song access, used to being given 3 - so it was a learning curve

I'm used to high energy from Rock shows...but they usually have flat lighting - so my settings were alot different compared to normal

ISO 1000 - f5.4 - with a shutter speed ranging from 100-400

 

The stage setup was amazing...I often found I overexposed even with the higher settings

 

My only challenge was the time restraints...1 song doesn't leave you long to nail a number of shots
