She is a good swimmer She loves going to Capri. She has been doing this for years. I think from 1997 at least 1 time per year.

The blond girl is her friend Josephine. There aren't too many celebrities who after 18 years of superstardom are still best friends with their childhood best friend. It says a lot about Mariah's true character, actually.

Some of her albums have been recorded in Capri as well. Charmbracelet and some songs from Rainbow, TEOM and I believe E=MC2. So she might be there recording some songs for the re-release... or I'm wondering if she is planning some promotion in Europe for IBLULT since the song started nice in the UK.

Italian Press: Mariah in Capri

Mariah Carey is back to Capri and the island is going crazy. The American singer, who has not been to Capri for a while, entered the tourist harbor yesterday on board Amz. She and her new husband Nick Cannon rented a mega yacht. Her room has a private studio and a Jacuzzi for an incredible honeymoon in the Mediterranean. Among the many facilities of her floating hotel, there is a huge soft sofa, two dining rooms, a six meter tender to reach the shore, etc. Mariah didn't deceive anyone's expectations, her visit to Capri is that of an American star.

 

In her last video she shows the world the beauty of Capri and many fans are waiting to salute her on the island. By now she has only showed up on the bridge of the yacht with her husband, who has her name tattooed on his back.

 

Last time Mariah came to Capri she was a guest on Roberto Cavalli's yacht. She is expected to stay until next Saturday.

it's quite simply. after Daydream, her voice began to deteriorate, and doing RnB is an effective concealer to hide the flaws of her voice. RnB doesn't require huge vocal performances as it focuses more on its beat. same thing applies also to Whitney Houston. her voice began to deteriorate after The Bodyguard (try to check out Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher's Wife OST and listen to the changes in Whit's voice). she returned in 1998 with My Love is Your Love which is her most RnB influenced album to date. since then, we hardly hear her sing her old ballads.

 

about celine, well what can i say? she takes the cake in this battle. she's the only artist who deserves the title THE VOICE imho.

Nikola, her record engineers are the most talented engineers any music artist could ever wish for. can u imagine mariah hitting her unbelievable notes in I Wish You Well? there's no way she can sing it live.

 

btw, her high notes in Anytime You Need a Friend, Never Forget You and O Holy Night are some of her best vocal performances, so Mine Again is actually nothing compared to these 3. believe me

It doesn't matter if she can sing it live now or if it's the studio magic or whatever. I'm just saying that her newer songs are more difficult than her older ones. They may not be as good as her old work but they are more difficult.

that's simply because during the early 90's, her voice wasn't processed as her newer releases. she didn't rely on studio magics during her vocal peak so the result is her songs are naturally done and less polished.

 

i wonder how her record engineers can keep their "secrets" this long.
