Mariah Carey to perform on Canadian Idol finale

 

Powerhouse diva Mariah Carey will headline the star-studded, two-hour Canadian Idol season finale on Wednesday, Sept. 10, CTV announced this morning.

 

The most successful female artist of all time will perform on the results episode, to be aired at 7 p.m. in Winnipeg.

 

The line-up of performers also includes five-time Grammy winner John Legend, Juno-nominated Hedley fronted by Idol alumnus Jacob Hoggard, and last year's Canadian Idol champ Brian Melo.

Dhena, I can't believe you don't like "Bringing on the heartbreak". Although "Charmbracelet" is my least favorite Mariah CD, "Bringing on the heartbreak" is one of my fave MC songs! LOVE IT!

sorry Ray... not that i hate it. imho the only songs that are worth listening to in CB are Through the Rain, I Only Wanted and My Saving Grace. Bringin' on the Heartbreak isn't a bad song, but could've been a lot better if she didn't whispered the lyrics.

 

the first time i heard of The One, it cought my attention, but then i noticed, why whisper a bass heavy song? Lullaby, You Had Your Chance, Clown, Irresistible, Through the Rain Remix sounds very similar. Yours is ok, but she sounds weird especially in her adlibs. You Got Me is a mess. Boy is one of her worst songs ever. so all in all, Charmbracelet is her worst cd for me. Glitter is a lot better than this piece of crap.

Actually ''My All'' is my least favorite song from the album. But that doesn't mean I don't like it. But this album is just so good that my least favorite song from it is like one of Mariah's best. I like everything about it. It's def her most personal, most emotional album with the best lyrics and production.

My second close is her debut album.

I don't know. It has been jumping a lot during the last 2-3 weeks. I guess radio like the song but it's not even on Top100 iTunes UK.

Now that she has the support of the UK radio she must go to promote there cause I can't understand how you can have the #8 most played song in the UK and at the same time to be out of iTunes Top100.

What has the world come to... UK radio is playing Mariah more than USA radio.

Yeah right. So now the label is paying the airplay. Of course you would say that. It's not even funny. Can't you accept when one of her songs is being played ? Why didn't the label payed for Bye Bye? IDJ don't have money to pay the music videos for their hottest artist right now (Rihanna) and you are talking about paying the airplay of a Mariah song that is flopping in the USA. I mean come on.

If I'm not wrong TCH as well jumped some week ago and of course she has no single in UK, so no big deal! 23 positions sounds pretty good to me. + The album costs 5$ only on 1 or 2 stores. TCH may jumped but Celine had a tour in the biggest citys in the UK. And paying for radio and TV promotion doesn't mean paying the airplay.

She was never big in the UK. What is different this time ? Don't you think that it would have been better to organise some TV appearances for Mariah in the UK instead of ''paying the airplay''. Whatever you say you won't make me think that IDJ pays the airplay.

 

 

A little update:

 

IBLYLT is #1 on MMTV (it's a Bulgarian Music Television) this week. (Another sign that this song is just good for the european audience)

 

#12 at France's SkyRock top 20 countdown (it started at #20). I guess they are paying the airplay in France as well.

 

The audience impressions this week dropped with more than 2M in the USA so now it's around 31M.
