Nikosn17 Posted August 29, 2008 at 08:13 PM Posted August 29, 2008 at 08:13 PM NEW MARIAH ALBUM: Mariah's "Love Songs" Album Out in Jan. 2009 From Keith Caulfield's Ask Billboard this week: Hi Keith,I have a few questions for you. Is Sony Music ever going to release a box set for Mariah Carey? Are they going to release a collection of all her videos on DVD when she was on their label? The reason I am asking is that two of my favorite B-side songs she released on CD single are "Slipping Away" and "Do You Think of Me" and (neither) are available on any mainstream Carey album. Thanks for reading!Jeff Savage, Salisbury, Md. I reached out to Sony Legacy (the company's catalog division) and, at least in terms of what's on their upcoming release schedule, there isn't a Mariah Carey box set coming soon. However, there is a "Love Songs" compilation album from the diva scheduled for release on Jan. 20, 2009. (Just in time for Valentine's Day!) We're sure the set will feature many of Carey's best known hits, since many of them deal with relationships and love. The "Love Songs" series has been around a number of years now and usually carry a list price of $11.98. Perhaps some of Carey's lesser-known gems (and b-sides) might make this album? Sure, it's doubtful, but you never know. And, since the album will be released Sony, it will likely only include her work that she did while on Columbia Records through 2000, before she left the label. Source: Billboard | Chris Quote
Black Kitten Posted August 30, 2008 at 12:49 AM Posted August 30, 2008 at 12:49 AM sounds great. looks like most of my favorite artists are releasing a greatest hits this holiday and early 2009. madonna, michael jackson, mariah carey and celine dion. except for the remixes, i do believe i already completed all of her songs (even the b-sides, thanx to eBay). i recently bought the canadian version of MB which has DYTOM as bonus track, instead of EFA. it's pretty easy to complete mariah's songs, unlike celine's. Ray Posted August 30, 2008 at 09:41 PM Posted August 30, 2008 at 09:41 PM Maybe "I'm that chick" won't be such a bad choice as a single. It's already in some charts and maybe "Touch my body" did so well, because of the lyrics, so now "I'm that chick" might do the same trick. Personally I love "Touch my body", "Bye Bye", "I'll be loving u long time" and "I'm that chick". Although I do think that "Migrate" would be the best song to promote as a single, followed by "I stay in love". (Maybe no chance as a single, but my favorite song of the album is "For the record"). Good thing about so many singles (whether they become hits or not): we get a lot of videoclips, official remixes and tv-performances! So you won't hear me complain. I've also heard that Mariah is working on a NEW single and one of her co-writes said that her fans are in for a treat. So maybe this means that we can look forward to a totally new song! I guess you are talking about the re-release. She said that she was wondering between Side Effects and I Stay In Love... I don't know why they choosed ''I'm That Chick''. But actually this may not be the real single cause it'll be send only to 1 format (UAC). Just like ''Fly Like A Bird'' and ''My Saving Grace''. No one consider these as actual singles. I guess we'll know the answer after her performance at Fashion Rocks. Quote

With an old skool backing and wonderfully rich vocals (but not overdone) this is Mariah at her very best. Summer may have faded quicker than your non-existent tan, but Ms Carey will ensure that she brings sunshine direct to your iPod with this superb single. Released on September 1. • From Digital Spy:Mariah Carey: 'I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time'Released on Monday, September 1, 2008By Nick Levine, Music Editor http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/7042/90627318jz9.gif The third single from her E=MC² album sticks rigidly to the formula that made Mariah a superstar again after the Glitter fiasco: midtempo R&B beats, cooing choruses and a vocal performance that's surprisingly restrained from a woman with eight octaves at her disposal and noone to tell her what to do. Yet, in spite of its predictability, 'I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time' still makes for a satisfying listen, sounding classy, effortless and as summery as a glass of rosé in the garden after a work. Plus, as with most things Mariah does these days, there's an intriguing hint of strangeness lurking just beneath the surface - who else would name a song about eternal devotion after a line from Full Metal Jacket? Nikosn17 Posted September 5, 2008 at 01:05 PM Posted September 5, 2008 at 01:05 PM no new single? nope. ''I'm That Chick'' has been sent only to UAC radio and it bassicly has 200k AI more than when it wasn't sent to radio (1,7M today). I think it's not the 4th single. During TEOM and CB era they did the same thing with ''Fly Like A Bird'' and ''My Saving Grace''. They sent them only to UAC radio but no one really consider these as singles. There is now a rumor that she'll perform something with Rihanna at Fashion Rocks but I don't know. It's such a mess. Quote
