Shaun Posted December 2, 2009 at 05:26 PM Posted December 2, 2009 at 05:26 PM Absolutely no doubt about it. Should've been released for the Christmas market. They can say what they want about Mother's Day sales etc but THE biggest selling opportunity for them was to release it prior to Christmas and it looks like they've missed the boat on that one. celinemaniac07 Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:18 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:18 AM (edited) Hey everyone...I have BIG offical news..after so long of waiting for something official..here it is! I have just come across some official news regarding the Taking Chances Film/DVD. USATODAY.COM just posted this article...please read below. By Marco R. della Cava, USA TODAY Call it the trailer of two Celines.A chart-topping diva and a globe-trotting mom both star in the new concert film Celine: Through the Eyes of the World, scheduled for limited theatrical release next spring by the Hot Ticket, Sony Pictures' alternative-content division. The trailer, which was viewed by USA TODAY, will begin showing in theaters early next year. "I know there are some impressive numbers out there," Dion says, rattling off key stats of her 2008-2009 Taking Chances world tour, which played to 3 million people in 93 cities spanning 25 countries. "But for me, the most special parts were having my mother on the road and allowing my son (Rene-Charles) to see the world." The documentary's many cameras followed the Canadian siren onstage and backstage across multiple continents. One moment she's belting out a song to 250,000 people in Quebec City, the next she's softly dueting with a girl in a South African township. Over here, Dion is getting mobbed by fans; over there, she's saying a prayer with her husband, Rene, inside their private jet. And always, whether squarely in frame or just out, there's her 8-year-old son. "Rene-Charles was already being home-schooled when we lived in Las Vegas (during Dion's five-year concert residency at Caesars Palace), so we thought, 'Let's just continue that and let him have the experience of his life,' " says Dion, now comfortably ensconced in the family's rented home in Jupiter Island, Fla., while their new residence is being built. "He loved it. But now that we're back, I see we made the right choice. Rene-Charles has friends, loves sports, he has roots. We'd never take him away now," she says. In that sense, Eyes of the World plays as one long Dion family vacation, African safaris and strolls through parks mixed in with grandly choreographed tunes to keep the pace lively. This blending of biography and discography is fast becoming a post-concert tour staple, says Rory Bruer, Sony's president of worldwide distribution. "For fans, this is a chance to both hear an artist in a theater setting with great sound, as well as take a look inside their lives," says Bruer, whose company is also behind next April's release of Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D. "It isn't like seeing the person live, but it does add that huge element of intimacy." But Dion's movie won't linger. It will screen in major U.S. cities just "seven or eight times over a couple of weeks," Bruer says. Dion, too, is moving on. Next up: a summer album and a possible return to Las Vegas, school schedules permitting. "I can see performing in Vegas, but only when Rene-Charles has vacation," says Dion, whose big trips these days amount to the seven-minute drive to and from her son's school. "My biggest joy is seeing him have a life." This was just officially posted a few minutes ago. Edited December 3, 2009 at 08:31 AM by celinemaniac07
celinemaniac07 Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:26 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:26 AM (edited) I just wanted to comment on this for a moment. Its fantastic that they are releasing a Celine Dion concert film to select movie theaters. That part is fantastic and awesome. I am not happy its being handled this way though. That means the dvd wont be out for a long long time..maybe even a year or more. This pretty much confirms there will be no full concert of the show on dvd..just this documentary with bits and pieces of uncompleted songs and behind the scenes. One on hand its wonderful we get such a good documentary( I hope) On the other..a full concert would be wonderful as well. I am very shocked to read something offical about this tonight after so long of waiting. So many rumors for as long as i can remember..now we finally get something offical about whats going on with the Taking Chances DVD/film. Of course there is no mention of any dvd or any other than what the film is. Who knows if we will even get a dvd for a long long time. Its also going to be in very select theaters for 7 or 8 times....that doesnt sound great to me...great to have a celine film out..not great regarding any dvd release or full concert release Edited December 3, 2009 at 08:29 AM by celinemaniac07

celinemaniac07 Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:11 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:11 AM (edited) I totally agree...this is lame on so many levels. I have to stress I am very happy about a full blown celine film documentary..but no dvd with the full show after all this time only to wait so much longer for anything. A dvd is a long long long time away Edited December 3, 2009 at 09:14 AM by celinemaniac07
Bellamy Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:17 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:17 AM No one confirmed there's no full concert DVD anywhere. It's just guess from some people. They didn't show both DVDs of A New Day on big screen. It's still possible there's another disc for the full concert. They didn't show both DVDs of A New Day on big screen. It's still possible there's another disc for the full concert. I agree with you Bellamy but at the same time we know that this release on dvd will take months and months..maybe until christmas next year! haven't we been waiting long enough? Celine is no michael Jackson and I am afraid her movie will not attract so many visitors as the this is it movie. Celine has her own audience. The people in here like her singing and how she is in real life, her funny things, her familylife etcetera.. but there is also a huge crowd who likes Celine because of her enormous vocals! I like her both ways but the majority who filled the concerthalls and stadiums is just loving her enormous voice and songs! <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
stevo Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:45 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:45 AM And we have seen youtube clips of them recording the Taking Chances show in Boston and they recorded it in Montreal as well, I don't think they would waste all that time and effort- yes, they did with Blonde AND...but that was cos Rene thought she was ugly. I think this will be really cool. Never fear people. Aside- I watched the DVD of Westlife's 10 Yr Birthday concert which they played the day after Celine on 1 June 2008 in Croke Park, Dublin and they played a MHWGO instrumental- everyone was singing.
celinefanonline Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:46 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:46 AM (edited) so maybe they would release the full concert dvd first while they have the documentry in cinemas yeah Stevo i have that dvd too it's the intro of you raise me up ! it is a bit strange they use that but it's cool though!! Edited December 3, 2009 at 09:49 AM by celinefanonline Courage don't you dare fail me now!
Bellamy Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:49 AM Posted December 3, 2009 at 09:49 AM Unless SONY MUSIC is crazy, they won't waste their money only to release the movie in selected Theaters in the US. It would be kind of promotion for the DVD just like A New Day DVD worked. Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

Kian Posted December 3, 2009 at 03:40 PM Posted December 3, 2009 at 03:40 PM Well, this only means we can kiss goodbye any hope of dvd being released before Christmas next year. I very much doubt they would release concert separately before the movie hits theaters. And since there's no way this movie will ever be released in cinema in my country, all I can say is . I am so disappointed right now . I just hope we'll get complete concert as bonus dvd once this comes out.

nano Posted December 3, 2009 at 06:50 PM Posted December 3, 2009 at 06:50 PM (edited) 'Celine Dion Entertains The World In The Hot Ticket's Presentation Of "Celine: Through The Eyes Of The World" Celine Dion, the international superstar and best-selling female artist of all time, has toured around the world and back again, and now, Sony Pictures Releasing’s special programming division, The Hot Ticket, will let audiences follow her everywhere. For a limited engagement beginning spring 2010 in wide release, Celine: Through the Eyes of the World will bring Celine Dion’s 2008-2009 Taking Chances World Tour to theaters. This special motion picture event gives Dion fans who attended the extremely popular tour – which placed Dion second only to Madonna in ticket sales in 2008 – another chance to experience the magical event, this time from a vantage point unparalleled by any ticket. Join Celine as she travels to five continents and 25 countries, putting on show-stopping performances of some of her biggest hits. However, this world tour is different as Celine is traveling with her husband, her 8-year-old son, her mother, and her extended family. Intercutting concert performances with behind the scenes footage, audiences will get the chance to really know Celine, her family, and her co-performers as well as those fans that she meets and performs for around the world. Inspirational, moving, honest and surprisingly funny, Celine: Through the Eyes of the World captures Dion’s deft balance between the demands of an elaborate and extensive year-long worldwide tour and Dion’s top priority – caring for and enjoying time with her family. Commenting on the announcement, Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures Releasing, said, “Celine Dion is a beloved performer all around the world and this spring, The Hot Ticket will offer fans a front row seat as she performs on stage her most recognized hits. Through this special film, audiences will also see Celine as they have never seen before as she travels and interacts with her family and creative collaborators while touring extraordinary and exotic locations around the globe. We believe Celine: Through the Eyes of the World offers a unique perspective on Celine, her life, and her inspiring dedication to creating a stage experience like no other.” Celine added, "This was an amazing world tour, but there's a lot more than just concert footage on this film. I let the cameras follow me everywhere. There are a lot of ups and downs, and it's very personal...and it's definitely the most intimate journey that I've ever shared with my fans." Having sold more than 200 million albums around the world, Celine Dion is one of the most immediately recognized, widely respected and successful performers in pop music history. Stephane Laporte, director of the film, added, “After touring the world with Celine, I can say confidently that there is no performer anywhere like her. She is a consummate entertainer – not only was she committed to giving the fans who came to the shows the best performances she could, but she was just as committed to this film, to make it entertaining and give some insight into what it's like to be on the road for a year with one's family. mirage Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:19 PM Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:19 PM Celine… Through the Eyes off the World - details of film Here the precise details which we can bring on the project of documentary to appear as of on May 9, 2010 in certain dark rooms of North America. The leaders of Sony Pictures in Hollywood, impressed by the documentary one on the slides of its world tour Taking Chances, realized by the Productions J, whose title is Celine… through the eyes off the world, decided to present it in the cinemas in North America as of next on May 9, during the end of the week of the Mother's Day. Yesterday, Rene Angélil, celebrates it manager of Celine Dion, assure us the news, very proud to see recognizing the talent of on our premises in production. “To draw the attention of the Americans, that you would not be good, but excel, that is not needed you kinds of the ordinary one. However, the work of the Productions J, directed by Julie Snyder and the team of Stephan Laporte in this file, is quite simply brilliant. Four months ago when I saw the docu-reality of this born tower, I knew there that one had a true jewel between the hands.” It thus did not waste time and immediately went to present it to leaders of Sony Pictures in Hollywood, which were delighted. “A team of New York asked to see it and it was also the same conclusion. For them, it was best the docureality ever realized in an artist. Thanks to this documentary, the American public and even of on our premises will be able to note at which point Céline is a star recognized in the whole world, but also a woman with human dimension”. Three cameras of the Productions J followed it during all this 15 month tower born, from February 2008 to April 2009, which led it everywhere in the world. One of the most lucrative rounds, paying more than 200 M$, which required the presentation of 135 spectacles. A titanic task. Stephan Laporte, who made the assembly, had in hands 25.000 hours of film. “Stephan has an exceptional talent. It knows human being and this documentary watch Céline life size”, indicates Rene Angélil proudly. The cameras followed them everywhere, even in its doctor to Australia when its state forced it to cancel spectacles. “One sees it singing, certainly, but also one sees it suffering, one sees it being mother. The camera was constantly on us. The documentary one remakes the road of the round with us and shows especially the slides and our family life; moments ago of emotion in Africa, in China, in Seoul, in Japan. The documentary one was presented in special session to the United States and people were very touched and confirmed it in a survey.” Céline Dion wanted to make the round the world tour in company of her two men, but to also benefit from magic moments with her mother. The documentary one is taken also of the magic between the two women. “There is so much love in this documentary-there. For the productions J, it is a formidable main door in the United States.” Also let us note the work of the realizer Jean Lamoureux, who collected four shows with at least 15 cameras for this documentary which lasts 1:52. It will be English subtitle, because Céline and Rene speak French between them. Other cities in the world will be able to have access also there. Big firsts will take place in three big cities, of which Montreal and Los Angeles. The documentary one will be projected in the rooms during 15 days at a rate of 7 to 8 projections per week Source: Canoe.ca - the Newspaper of Montreal - USA Today 25.000 hours of film!?!? i would pay much money to see all of it hahaha...my only hope is that it wont be all love love love miracle thing dvd
Belle Céline Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:34 PM Posted December 3, 2009 at 08:34 PM So what does this mean? “There is so much love in this documentary-there. For the productions J, it is a formidable main door in the United States.” That they know the US would be a good place to screen this? Then why won't they release it all over the US? Instead of just a few cities? “There’s nothing I love more than the romance of a night in the theater.”http://i39.tinypic.com/ws0due.png
