Her socials just posted about the anniversary of this album and got the year wrong. They said it was released in 2001. Imbeciles.

I'm not surprised, to redeem themselves they should release the extended version of The Greatest Reward (4:05) on streaming platforms lol... and why not the full 2002 CBS Special while they're at it?

I have a question if someone has it :

what are the differences between the ANDHC Ric Wake Radio Remix and the Humberto Gatica Album Mix Edit (the one we have on the album) ? They both have quite the same length so it's not remix vs album version as I thought at first. I didn't knew there were 2 radio remix of this song.

 

The Christian B Mix is already available on Youtube and it's a little bit smoothier and soft in the arrangements :

Humberto Gatica Album Mix Edit is the regular balad version from the album, but shortened... the ending is a little weird in my opinion

I own this promo CD !

The Humberto Gatica Album Mix Edit is a shortened version (4'19 vs. 5'42) of the Album Version (track 16), whereas the Ric Wake Radio Remix is the Single Version (4'24) of the song (track 5 on the album).

The third one, the Christian B Mix, is close to the Single Version with a softer production.

Fun fact : the tempo is different depending the versions. The album version is slower (60bmp) than the other ones (92bpm)

Yes the Humberto edit is basically a radio edit of the ballad version.

I agree, the radio edit seems odd, the ending seems crop too much. They should have edit it the same way as Vegas opening :

- first verse, chorus and then the entire ending

It would have seem more coherent.

Every so often I'm reminded that the album as already finished but Celine loved "Ten Days" so much that she recorded it and convinced Rene & co. to put it on the album. I think it fits

I think they just added a cover of Tomber (Ten Days) because it was a big hit in French speaking countries and it was rather strategy to elevate the album more than “Celine loved it so much”. It's certainly possible, I am retelling (how I remember) Celine's version in the interviews I saw. They were always a bit too calculating with their decisions, I think... If they focused purely on the artistic merit of her albums/tracklist, we probably would've gotten better albums

Ugh nothing comes close to the cringe of “Rain, Tax.” I love “Ten Days” though. I love laid back Celine.

 

Over time, this album became one of my least favorites. Definitely a product of its time, regarding sound. There are a few songs I listen to frequently, but I otherwise grew out of it over the years.

In my opinion, ANDHC isn’t so dated… the “Taking Chances” and “Loved Me Back To Life” were already dated before they even released.

 

Surprisingly so, “Courage” album with its flaws in production and vocals in some parts is a far superior album to anything since ANDHC and OH, in English ofc.

It’s true that those songs, in terms of instrumentation, may sound a bit outdated today — but I think that’s exactly part of their charm. I feel the arrangements were created with real instruments, not computer-produced beats, and that gives them a warmth and authenticity that is often missing nowadays. Personally, that era is my favorite from Céline. I think about it all the time. I can’t even express how much I wish she would return to that period.

In my opinion, it was her finest moment. The Las Vegas residency was simply spectacular. To this day, I haven't seen any artist do anything quite like it. Every time I watch the documentary or recordings from A New Day..., I feel something truly special. Maybe it’s because that’s when I became a fan — even though I was very young, since I’m only 18 now — but just thinking about those concert nights, the presence of our beloved René Angélil, and the pure magic Céline brought to the stage… it still moves me deeply.

I’ve followed the other residencies she’s done at Caesars, but honestly, none has touched me as much as A New Day.... I truly wish she could do something like that again. Now that our queen is facing SPS, maybe she could highlight the dancers more, like she used to, and bring back that kind of unique experience.

I regret not being able to live through that time as many of you did, due to my age, but I’ve read that after each show, you used to upload your bootlegs to the forum during the night... to me, that’s just magical.

I live in Spain, but A New Day... impacted me so deeply that, God willing, once I finish my university studies, my dream is to move to Las Vegas. I don’t know if I’ll make it happen, but the dream is there — and I’m working very hard to achieve it.

 

That’s also why I believe this forum is truly a wonderful place. In Spain, there aren’t many fans, but logging in at night and chatting about Céline after a long day is one of my favorite moments. This forum feels like a temple dedicated to our goddess!

 

 

P.S.: Even though my profile says I was born in 2000, I was actually born in 2006. The forum gives me a technical error when I try to update it.

I think TC holds up very well, actually. For me, Courage had some incredible songs and a lot of heart, but the album was too long -- and unfortunately her vocals/pronunciation took me out of the experience at times (which retrospectively was a sign something was wrong).

To me, the bonus tracks on Courage were the very best songs on the album. These should have been singles with proper music videos and promotion, especially The hard way, Heart of glass and Boundries.

In my case, I think the same, TC holds up very well, but what you mentioned, in my case, didn't take me away from the experience when listening to the album.

I think the same, although if you listen to them carefully, all the songs have a lot of potential to be singles.
