I agree. I also loved IS when ANDHC was released, but as an adult I find her vocals on it to be way too bombastic and the live vocals were screechy.

I still live for that song lol. It’s other worldly.

I can't stand what she did to At Last. The arrangement is cheap and dated. While her vocals aren't bad, the delivery is a little heavy-handed for my taste… the original version of that song is so highly revered, you can't just go around singing it karaoke style and get away with it.

I DESPISE her version of At Last! I've never loved the song much anyway, but the Céline version is the absolute worst kind of schmaltzy pablum with zero soul or emotion whatsoever. HATE IT!!! Usually, with less favored tracks I'll still let them play as part of an album, but I find At Last so awful I skip it every time.

I think that At Last doesn’t fit this album at all. The songs and the production sound modern and fresh, and At Last just doesn’t belong on there.

Can't relate. I love it, and I hate the original. It's actually one of my favorite songs on A New Day Has Come.

Celine does a far superior job with the live performances of At Last...

But I agree the studio arrangement is so bad...

That was a great performance.

The Etta James version will always be #1 for me. I never looked at Celine's version as competition... just a fresh take on a classic.

I relistened to it just now, and at least 50% of my disdain comes from that AWFUL percussion. What’s that’s stopwatch noise about?! Every 5 seconds it beeps!!

And you’re spot on about the lack of soul. The only version I care for is when she performed it at that one-off private event with a real jazz band. Even still, I haven’t heard a cover version that holds a candle to Etta James’.

Maybe the album would be stronger then if 'At Last' was replaced by this song? I am not sure, the lyrics feel very bland. The melody is sweet though.

I've always liked All Because Of You - it's unassuming and just an all-around enjoyable track. I can understand why it was relegated to a b-side, but I think it would have fit in quite well as an album track (and yes, I'd absolutely have preferred it be there than At Last). Besides, they upgraded the other bonus track Coulda Woulda Shoulda to an album track for One Heart; this one is no less deserving... :)

These songs are even more special now. Celine still had her classic, fluid tone here.

Why would the album be "stronger" if a song replaced At Last? At last is a 10/10.

When was that?

Do we have more songs?

It was a rehearsal for a Jazz CD,? we heard that about that time, some kind of rumour

It’s fascinating how she sounds so wonderful here and sounded pretty rough on the Live in Vegas CD.
