To be fair, a 20th anniversary isn't quite as major as a 25th anniversary. I'm surprised they even did the HD stuff for the videos. If they do anything more (doubtful), these are a few of the options I could maybe see being done:

  • Upload official audio of the ballad version of "A New Day Has Come" to YouTube
  • Upload official audio of "All Because Of You" to YouTube
  • Upload official audio of the extended version of "The Greatest Reward" to YouTube
  • Upload various clips from the CBS special of the same name to YouTube
  • Upload vaulted footage of "A New Day Has Come (Radio Remix)," "Nature Boy," "At Last" and "Have You Ever Been In Love" from the Vegas residency, "A New Day..." [highly unlikely]

We'll see what happens.

The official audio of the ballad version is already uploaded, maybe not available in the US

I can’t get over the fact that some of these beautiful music videos are not available in Germany  These songs were released as singles here! They were played on the radio!

Falling into you, her biggest selling album was 25 and they did nothing but stupid shirt.

And its 2022… a HD video should not be a special celebration..

is it much work to transfrom an old video into HD? Or do you just have to run it through a computer program for a few minutes?

They probably have a sophisticated program or send it to an audio-visual company for a few days. I imagine it takes some hours of the program doing its magic, just a guess.

In that case they could easily turn every music video into HD quality relatively quickly. But with Celine, it's rather occasionally for an album anniversary

Well seen in that light, I guess we have a lot of “gifts” to look forward to in the future 😂

I guess we have to wait 10 years more till all the video are in HD. Since they are doing it only on anniversaries.

I wonder why they haven't remastered The Power Of Love, Think Twice, Where Does My Heart Beat Now. They already had they 25s and Unison had it's 30th too!

Did they not know about remastering before?

let's hope they remember the LTAL anniversaries

My only hope for future anniversary celebrations is they don't solely center on the big hits. For "Let's Talk About Love," I want to see more done with "Us," "Just A Little Bit Of Love," "Miles To Go (Before I Sleep)" and "Be The Man (On This Night)."

I hope they, for the love of Bon Dieu, release footage where she recorded songs that they didn't show in the official "The Sessions" version.

For example, I know they recorded "Just A Little Bit of Love" but didn't release the full session.

It's so sad that "I Surrender" was never released as an official single. However, the popularity worldwide of the song even though it was never a single, speaks for itself! The song is absolutely one of Celine's best and loved songs in her career!

Congratulations to Celine on the milestone 20th anniversary of "A New Day Has Come"!

thank you very much for this great write up! :wub2: The world was really hungry for more Céline in 2002!! The album was still such a success a year after its release. And that's also due to the fact that Céline promoted the hell out of it! You cannot help but wonder what would have happened if she didn't have the Vegas deal... I am sure her path on radio play etc. would have been much different!

As you said it's a shame I Surrender was never released as a single. I think it could have been huge too. And as pretty as GTSW is as a song, IMO it should have never been a single. I would have gone with:

1. A New Day Has Come

2. I'm Alive

3. I Surrender (to remind people she's still the ballad queen)

4. When The Wrong One Loves You Right (ft. Destiny's Child)

5. Sorry For Love (with awesome remixes)

6. Have You Ever Been In Love (a nice last single, that could have been a Céline classic)

Yep, ANDHC, IA and RIFOY would have been a great single trilogy. I surrender is great, but not single material.

I disagree. I think I Surrender would have been the perfect 3rd single.

I know a lot of fans love Right In Front of You, but I don't think that would have been the right choice.

Nah, it would have been lost between Kylie's and Britney's music. In 2002, MTV and Radio stations were dominated by Dance Pop music. So I think RIFOY would have been a great single in late summer 02.

Sorry For Love should have been the third single. It had the most potential to be a hit at that time.

But I still love Goodbye's and the music video! IMO The Goodbye's video is without a doubt the most beautiful music video she has ever recorded, and it is the video where she looks the best. Her look is impeccable.

I think i Surrender would have done better than Goodbyes, even though it wasn't the biggest hit.

It's never too late though, I don't get why Sony or Celine's team can't release "legacy" singles. They could have released I Surrender today and used old footage from ANDHC era to make a music video. Why not.

She could have done that when she revamped her Vegas show and started it with I Surrender. That would have been the perfect time

The music video for Goodbye's makes no sense at all. The song is about the love between a mother and her child, but the video only shows a perfect styled Celine on a bed or on a balcony LOL. A lyric video with pictures with her mother and mothers with their children from around the world would have been better.

Whaaat? LOL :D It makes perfect sense! It shows Celine (or the character that she plays) visiting her old childhood house, remembering the past, thinking of her mother and writing her a letter. It's truly beautiful and emotional  The moment when you hear her sing these lyrics and see her extinguishing the candle is heartbreaking. The video depicts the beautiful young and accompished lady that she has become thanks to her mom and how greatful she is for everything. Edited by ryba
