hahhacredit card it- yeh i havnt heard a peep outta this single - its not gonna chart i dont think - plus its a reeeeally weird week to release a single - 1st week of january?? no one has money then, and no ones really listening to radio regularly over the festive period. Its just not a good week for music releases. It'll sneak out and bomb. But i hope that doesnt happen of course!

 

I think saying it wont chart is a bit extreme Tom. LOL. "Goodbye's The Saddest Word" charted on no airplay at all. At least Radio 2 are playing "Eyes On Me" plus Celine performed it on prime time TV on Saturday night.

 

Thinking back to the first number 1 of 2007, it was Leona Lewis with "A Moment Like This" and she only had to sell just over 20,000 copies to get to number 1. January is traditionally a slow month for record sales so my thinking is if all of Celine's regular CD buying fans buy "Eyes On Me" and then some of the casual buyers, then she has a real chance of a good chart placing. Even 5000 sales should see her inside the Top 10.

 

Yeah so lets assume casual buyers will be minimal since it hasn't had too much exposure so ALL FANS MUST GO AND BUY THE SINGLE and show her support because if we get a decent chart position we are more likely to get more money thrown at the next single or a bigger push of eyes on me and the album.

 

Exactly Colin. Sony UK simply wont bother with a 3rd single if "Eyes On Me" doesn't get a decent charting, the recent past shows that they'll likely abandon "Taking Chances" if "Eyes On Me" fails to make an impact. So yeah, strongly urge everyone to buy a copy, there will never be a better time to get Celine a high chart placing in the UK.

I think we can be fairly relaxed about there being a 3rd single since the tour will last for a year and is nowhere near started yet and there "should" and I mean "should" be sustained promotion and buzz around that so single releases are important to keep the album going and they are surely obliged to release at least 3 however we really need some single success.

 

Hopefully we will get Fade Away and/or This Time to follow

Well, I just pre-ordered my CD single on Amazon a few days ago. Here's to hoping that the single actually releases unlike the never-seen-the-light-of-day "Taking Chances" single from the U.K. LOL

I think also out the same day is Daughtry and Home which is likely to be big, and Britney Pieces of Me. So there is some competition plus both songs have a video and are getting better airplay.

Hi, I heard Eyes On Me on the radio (no idea what staion it was at my Grandma's house ) this morning, and in a pleasent surprise the radio presenter was actually nice about Celine and complimented her voice, something that does not seem to happen much in the UK.

New to posting here but I've been reading for longer than I can remember.

 

I've been working hard with the guys I work for to get something for other fans and we've managed to work with Celine's management to get a free video download with each single ordered via us.

 

I've done the same with Meat Loaf stuff in the past and it went down a treat. This is the first time I've been able to do with with Celine.

 

The single is out on Monday so I hope we're all getting a copy (or 10 lol)

Only to boost the sales and a chart position in the top 10?

 

No! I don't want to support a song that I don't like only because it is a song from my favourite artist. This would lead to more wrong decisions regarding single choices by Sony and choosing awful songs by Celine's camp! Therefore I prefer not to support this to show them that the choice they have made is wrong and that they choose a better song from the album to introduce to the cd buying public that has more potential.

 

To be a fan doesn't mean to agree with everything and to buy effortless releases!

I would even have bought the special ed of TC single if they had put the real video on it (they had shot it darn it) and once again a real remix, not one I could do myself just speeding up the pace on my wmp and thump my hand in my desk to the beat...

Nothing ages you, Celine Dion has shrewdly recognised, like a stint in Vegas. To that end, she's filled Taking Chances, the album that's supposed to mark her return to chart glory after a half-decade residence at Caesar's Palace, with contributions from a bevy of contemporary hitmakers: Linda Perry (Pink, Christina Aguilera), Ne-Yo (Rihanna, Beyoncé) and Terius 'The Dream' Nash, (Rihanna's 'Umbrella') have all dirtied their hands in a bid to renew Dion's musical relevance.

 

'Eyes On Me', the album's second single, finds Dion taking an ill-advised swerve towards Shakira territory in pursuit of that all-important comeback smash. As ever, the Canadian belter is on ripe old form, tearing into the hackneyed lyrics with real spirit. Sadly, with its souped-up Middle Eastern rhythms and tale of a teasing minx goading her boyfriend ("Temptation is all around... you better keep your eyes on me"), it feels at least a decade too young for this 39-year-old working mum.
