HORRIBLE choice. this song is the cheeze. sure it's catchy for a celine song, but in the same unradio-friendly way as Rain-tax or other such songs :x

i bought 2 copies today in hmv (n.ireland) only a few left....there was loads of britney left.....

also noticed that the mix is the full club mix clocking in at over 6 minutes.i thought it was gonna be the edit that had been previously heard on the forum here.nice to get the full mix(even if most dont seem to care for it).

i dont mind the mix but would love a freemasons mix(we can dream!!)

I think its time to share my thoughts with you....

 

I think the release of Eyes On Me in the UK is only a test!

they release the Song there, if the song becomes a HIT they will release it in the rest or Europe. If not they give Alone a chance.

It sounds very good to do a "test", try it in one country to look how it will be, how it charts etc. BUT its stupid as hell because its time for the second single (Worldwide). They waste time....

 

This is how i think about Eyes on Me in the UK.

maybe we should all bombard sony UK to take the EOM performance from "An Audience With..." and service it to outlets as the music video. anyone got their e-mail? I got the single today!! And I do love the cover!

 

BUT when I heard the begining of the remix I thought OK... but frankly this is the worst remix EVER!!!! They speeded up the vocals, and slowed down the music! From an uptempo song!!!! !!! It reminds me of a MHWGO mix... but EOM doesn't take off! A real shame! A good remix could have saved this song!!!

 

the graphics of the cd-rom are cool... nothing spectacular... and nothing new of course in the video...

mine finally arrived today nad its nice to have but i think its a bit pointless and is it just me or does the cover look like a photocopy? nyway if this is a 'test' they shud have picked a different country, i think it'll take the small miracle of sony releasing the right song for celine to have a hit here again. saying that though this is a younger fresher vibe and the little press ive seen seems to be saying what is she doing? what age is she? so i guess she can never win over here!

sorry but this isn't all sony's fault. It's Celine and Rene's too.

 

They should have filmed the 2nd video just after they filmed Taking Chances (for whatever song that may be WORLDWIDE).

 

I don't quite understand why this song is only released in the UK either. Why pick the uk? was it to make up for the fact that the physical cd was abandoned?

 

It's not all bad atm, the dvd's selling, the album's selling and the tour's selling. Celine needs to focus more energy on singles, she needs a new hit. They have to pick the right song. It seems that Rene can't do that anymore! (Have You Ever Been In Love, Goodbye's The Saddest Word, Beautiful Boy!). The songs on the album are fantastic and they know how to pick good songs and make a good album. But they both need guidance when it comes to singles.

Maybe Sony told Ire23 that Celine is at no.1 and he wants to surprise us on Sunday lol, I doubt that is true though,

The midweeks that come out on Tuesday are usually a fairly accurate reflection of how the chart will end up on Sunday. Of course positions will change here and there but not majorly. This single will do well to make it inside the Top 100 because my sources show the single currently at #110.

 

An absolute disgrace but what can they expect. No video - no airplay - no promotion - no appearances from Celine = FLOP.

 

Defend it all you want but the fact is this will be Celine's worst charting single in the UK ever, and we all screamed out for a physical single after Taking Chances was cancelled and still she cant chart very well. I honestly wonder what Sony, and Celine, have to do now. What's the next move to market the album? Singles don't work, Celine cant be on TV every week doing a TV special, she cant be in the UK all the time.

 

So now we are left with a single outside the Top 100 and it'll do well to sell over 2000 copies by the looks of things, and the album is sliding quickly down the charts too. Is this now the end of "Taking Chances"?

 

Will Sony UK bother with a third single?
