"Eyes On Me" to be second single in UK!

I don't understand why many of you complain about Celine and Rene's role in the promotion of this album. I know they can do more and they do to! BUT... Wouldn't you be pissed off if you are a singer releasing an album and your record company doesn't even bother putting up posters in record stores????? Or pushing the album in some way or another??? I know I would be, and I would probably take a back seat too in the promotion!!! I'm sure Celine and René are also pissed to see this. You'd be surprised how much control the record company has in terms or what is released and when...

 

By the way, I think many of you will be surprised by how well EOM will do on airplay!! I don't care much about Chart position. I think it's more important that the general public says "WOW, that's Celine Dion!!" than hearing another typical ballad à la Alone...

If memory serves me correctly it was on the B list for one week and the C list for 3 weeks but either way it didn't set the airwaves on fire. I hope Sony UK sending the song to Radio 2 is just the beginning and it was also be sent to local commercial radio.

 

But besides, time to start requesting UK folks!!!!

The harsh reality is that Rene and Celine seem content for Celine to be remembered for her success in the 90's and now the Vegas years. What they seem to fail to realise is the fact Celine hasn't had a Top 40 hit in the US this millenium is affecting her, and the constant struggle to get airplay around the world is also affecting her. If people weren't interested in Celine before, Celine and Rene used to MAKE them interested, now it seems they simply dont care. Moreover the only people who are going to remember the Vegas years in years to come are the people who live and work in Las Vegas! There are mothers all over the globe that work and bring up children at the same time, most in much more difficult circumstances than Celine.

 

My point is, if Celine wants just to be Mum she needs to make that decision and stick to it because this half hearted attempt at keeping her career going is going to affect her longterm legacy - people will no longer remember the 90's success - they will start to remember the constantly flopping chart singles, that's the harsh reality of the media these days.

 

Celine and Rene have become too big for Sony. I remember back in the 90's Sony UK called Celine off of her honeymoon to come to the UK to promote "Think Twice" as it had a shot at being number 1. The plan worked! Could you imagine Celine getting a phone call from Sony UK now asking her to shoot a video for "Eyes On Me" she would just go out and do it? She and Rene would probably decide they couldn't be bothered.

 

And that's what I mean, either she wants this or she doesn't. I think it's great that she's touring next year and still releasing albums, but if she doesn't want to do all the promotional work that goes with it (albums need to sell for a year, not just release week!) then she should just stop with that side of things.

Instead of complaining most of the time we should all go to amazon.uk and support Celine by ordering EOM single cause whether you like the song or not we're finally getting a physical single in the U.K. and we should help as much as we can, otherwise this could be last physical single from TC. I don't know about you but I like having a real single in my hands rather then download digital ones. So, stop complaining and order a copy and then write positive review . I just ordered two copies :yahoo: .

I am not surprised with the spelling mistake

 

If memory serves me right, Sony India did the same mistake with ATW VCD in 2000 and they recalled the entire consignment from the market. Then they released the DVD but didn't rectify it in the DVD release,too

If something like that can happen from the parent music company, it's no surprise if others are catching up with it

There are many other songs that is a better choice than Alone, I like that song but come on, is another cover, let's put some fresh song...At least AWTBI is the second single in Japan, it's a ballad, yes, but is a new song
