I think that's because it's very Coulda Woulda Shoulda when it could be a little more heavy. That's it. But I love EOM. As I said, it will only depends of the kind of video we'll have.

I've just heard from Sony, and its not 100% confirmed yet, but apparently there may not be a ''new'' video for eyes on me.

And if there is, it will not be out on time for the release of the single on the 7th of next month.

 

Thats all I have been told so far....

It seems to me that Celine has been/will be to busy to fit this in, and because its only gonna be released in the uk/ireland and not worldwide that its not a huge priority....

 

As I said this is not concrete yet, but I'm so pissed at the thought of this single bombing here because we may not get a good video with it!!!

 

I'll keep you guys updated as I get more info.

I can't even believe the single is set for a release on Jan 7th, that's way too early....way to fast after X-mas! They should send the single to radio stations on Jan 7th and release the single (physically) at the end of Jan.

I really don't care about EOM anymore. The song will be a flop in the UK with a crap physical single and without a video! This way they save lots of money that then will be invested in a great video for a better single release. Go Celine bring on "Fade Away", "Shadow Of Love" or "My Love" for the rest of Europe!

u know, i never thought about that but u r totally right cause till now i didnt see the video a lot on music channels. In my country, there is NRJ radio station (NRJ france tv, radio....) i hear all the time SONYBMG promotions about that Unfitney, JLO (both albums are a flop) and AK. but why not Celine?

It's changed days since "The Reason", videos have to be different and appealing and most people wouldn't find Celine standing in front of a mic in a studio very interesting regardless of what the song was like.

 

Maybe somewhere down the line it will click with someone that to have a hit record a bit of effort on everyones part is required.

 

I don't want to get away from the fact though that I still think "Eyes On Me" is an exceptional choice for a single, it could do very well, but I personally feel a video is a must.

Sony uk blamed it on time constraints and apologised for the disappointment!

 

I've pleaded with them to delay the release until they get a video as lets face it, this wouldnt happen with there other artists like leona or westlife.... so gotta see what they say or whats gonna happen next.

 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but at the min thats the only update I have.

You must be out of your mind to say that Celine has forgotten Canada. Celine will do 6 shows in Montreal, one free show in Quebec City for the 400th anniversary of Quebec City and many more shows in the rest of Canada. And René cancelled her show in Halifax because of nasty comments made by the media there (and he is right to cancel it!!!).

 

And D'Elles has been selling very well in Canada I must add.

 

And you say René is the one making all the decisions???? I have news for you. Any manager has to deal with the Record Company. Who will pay for the video you think? IT'S ALWAYS THE RECORD COMPANY THAT PAYS!!!! Don't you think it's fair to think that Sony won't pay for a video if the single is released only in one country (that we know of at this time). If Eyes on Me gets released in many countries, then I'm sure they will consider shooting a video. But since Celine's videos are not played that much (and therefore don't contribute much to album sales) maybe it's better to invest that money some other ways. Maybe invest more on the video of the single that will be released in more countries?? I would love a video for EOM but money issues are always the last decisive factor...

Agree, why to blame everytime Sony Music, when its up to Céline and René wether to decide what to do? They have the power, Céline has a 25 year career and she's the best selling female artist of all time. I think that's more than enough to decide how to promote an album, isn't it?

 

She could have the greatest songs on earth, suitable for her young fans and radio, she choses the ordinary and mediocre ones,

 

she can have the best producers, but she still keeps working with the same team since 15 years,

 

she could have the best dj's and remixers to do tons of great remixes, she choses just 1 unknown man to do just 1 poor remix (or she even doesn't care about remixes)

 

she can have 4 or 5 singles released for each album, she releases just 1 or 2 and they didn't even reach many basic countries,

 

she can have her singles on different versions of each single (CD1 and CD2, maxis, special and deleted tracks, maxis only for the remixes), she releases just 1 version, not to mention she doesn't have anymorevinyl format (which is becoming important again on USA and Europe)

 

And the list can continue with the errors they made since her comeback in 2002.

 

Now with Taking Chances she could have had the most talented producers like Timbaland, Ne-Yo etc who offered songs for her, and then she rejects them! That's absurd! I'm not telling that the other songs we know are bad, not at all!, but for God's sake, better put the songs that can be a hit and are good songs for the radio than others like New Dawn or A Song For You!

 

But if she doesn't want to do all that, nor has the interest on those aspects, nothing can do the label, Sony Music. And yes, Sony Music sucks, we can blame on it eternally, but its Céline the one who doesn't care anymore about releasing singles, videos, good remixes etc. She has never been involved cent per cent on any of her albums up to date. NEVER! She always had someone that decided instead of her. So why should she change now? She won't change her ways after 25 years of career.

 

And what's even more worrying: the most annoying thing about this is that both Céline and René seem to be soooo comfortable and content with the current situation with their label, Sony Music! It seems like SM makes everything perfect for them! Everything is good, great promo, great singles, great videos, there's any problem at all!

 

Will be there someone to open their eyes sometime??

 

Will be there someone that tells Céline how things are done today in music business and what is doing Madonna or Mariah Carey, for example? Will they learn someday?
