I wish I was posting to say I have heard from another radio and/or tv station (or Philips Arena), but I haven't.

I am NOT giving up....I will just send over some more emails!!

 

It is cold here today (in the 30's this morning) I HOPE the weather will NOT give us a problem in January. Even if it does, I will wait outside as long as it takes for Celine!

Aw I know nobody's posted in here in awhile! I missed you guys haha I haven't really heard anything back from anybody, and actually last night I sent out a few more emails. I came up with an idea, and I don't know if any of you guys would be interested, but it seems like it would be really cool!

 

I was talking to my friend last night, who is BEYOND obsessed with Hanson. haha I give her a lot of crap, but I KNOW I can't say anything because well I have my own artist (Celine Dion) to obsess over! But anyways, she is going to one of their concerts tonight and she was telling me this really cool thing that they do before every concert. They go on a one mile walk, barefooted, to raise money for kids in Africa that don't have pretty much anything. Apparently somebody started it one year, and now Hanson has become involved and holds a walk before every concert. So we continued to talk about it, and she was like you should start something for Celine! I was like I have nooo idea how to get something like this started, but the more I thought about it the more I really wanted to do it.

 

So I was thinking we could hold a walk sometime during the day or even morning, just a one mile walk, and raise money towards The Celine Dion Foundation or towards the charity that she gives to a great amount, the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Would any of you guys be interested in maybe doing this? It would be for an amazing cause and I think it would also be a ton of fun to get a bunch of Celine Fans together! Plus, we could maybe present the money to Celine, maybe talk around to the venue people or her bodyguards or somebody, I don't think it would be that hard to find somebody to give it to her, and who knows, maybe we could give it to her ourselves! We could also get the media involved, and I actually already went ahead and sent out a few emails and I've gotten a response back from a radio saying they passed it along to the promotions people and they will let me know! So if you guys are interested please let me know because it could be a lot of fun and a great thing to do! If it seems crazy haha then just tell me, I don't mind. But hey, if Hanson fans can do it, I think the Celine fans could DEFINITELY do it! Who knows, maybe Celine will show up and there will be tonsss of us with posters supporting her Foundation or a charity, and she will want to see what's going on! We would definitely have to get the locals involved, which is why I'm trying to get the media involved. But let me know if you guys are interested!

You know what?! I think it is a G - R - E - A - T idea!!!!!!!!!1 I was involved in raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation back in 1999. I had a contact at the office in Montreal.

 

Anyway, this would not only raise money for a charity that Celine is involved in, but would also create some media attention toward it too!! True it will be cold in January, but we could all bundle up, walk, get warm in the process, and raise money for Celine's Foundation and/or Cystic Fibrosis!!!

I think we will all be bundled up and probably wearing warm boots in January, but I am really excited about this idea (especially after watching Celine on Oprah today) Celine was so emotional with the stories and the children that were on the show. We all know how near and dear the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to Celine. I really want to do something special for Celine while she is in Atlanta. We can walk first, then work on the banners, or work on the banners and then walk. What does everyone think? During a commercial break of the show they showed a promo for Celine's Atlanta show !!!!!!!!! That is the first time I have seen it in MONTHS!! It is really getting close, and before we know it, it will be here!

haha Yes we can definitely wear shoes and bundle up together seeing as it is in January! But you said it, especially after watching Celine on Oprah today, I definitely want to make this happen! This was just a boost of motivation and I am so excited! I'm still trying to get some information back from the media, and I've heard a few responses! If you guys really want to do this, we can make it work! I think maybe make the banners first? That way we can make a sign for what we are walking for as well?! And then we can end our march at the venue? What do you guys think? I know it seems like a crazy idea and out there, but we can make it work!!! It's for an amazing cause!

Hey everyone!

 

Two months from tomorrow is "OUR" show!! I was told by my contact at Philips Arena to wait until it got closer to the show before we contact her again to see what will/will not be allowed at the show as far as welcoming Celine back. Well, I am going to try her again within the next couple of weeks. If you want her name and phone number, just send me a PM and I will pass it onto you. I hope we can welcome Celine back to Atlanta in a BIG way!! (banners, raising money for CF).

 

My get well card to Celine will be in the mail tomorrow. I know it is hard from her to postpone shows, and I hope she is getting some much needed rest!!!

 

I hope this finds each of you doing well. I miss the excitment for the Atlanta show, hope we can get it going again!!!!

It is COLD here in GA, the DJ on the radio said today that our temps tonight were gonig to feel like we were in Canada! lol

I tried researching (googling) and I found a banner I can make for like 30 bucks.. BUT>.. it wasn't very big. I dont mind even drawing out the words and stuff I just can't find banner like paper anywhere.. hmmmm

YES! It is certainly going to be COLD in January. I can see it now, we will all be bundled up in our heavy coats, hats, scarfs, gloves working on the banners!! BUT it will be FUN, and ALL worth it in the end!!! I will be more than happy to bring some hot chocolate!!

 

Chelsey, I have a sign store across the street from where I work. I have checked with them, and their banners are a good size, but not realllllllll long. I will go tomorrow and get the exact sizes that they have, and the cost. They could go ahead and print on it what we want them to say, and then we could write our own messages/sign our names, OR would everyone rather we all work on the message to Celine instead of having it printed on the banner ahead of time? If you have a Michaels near you, they would have tons of stuff to decorate the banners with. We need to start planning on exactly what we want the banner to read that we will hold up to welcome Celine, and the one we want to have placed in her dressing room. January 17th will be here before we know it!!

Hey guys! I hope everybody has a great holiday and make sure to eat a lotttt of foooooood I'm so excited that this concert keeps getting closer and closer! It is going to be freeeezing but like you guys said, SO worth it! We're going to have a blast! If you guys need any help with anything please let me know! YAY Katelyn, a plane ticket to Atlanta!!! CONGRATS!! Glad to hear that you will be here early to work on the banner with us (and freeze with us too!)

 

I priced out the banners today, they offer all kinds of sizes. These banners are the "vinyl" type, heavy duty. They can make them 24" inches wide, 33" wide, 48" wide, in fact I was told they could make them as big as we wanted. For example, if we wanted one with a white background, 33" wide, with (for example) WELCOME TO ATLANTA CELINE (in red) 33" x 4' would be close to $80.00. 33" wide and 5 feet long would be close to $100.00. The cheapest is $57.00 (which is 24" wide and 4 feet long). It all depends on if we want to get a heavy duty banner, or if we just want to get a long banner of paper and be creative ourselves. Any suggestions/ideas on which way to go? How big do you think we should go? Do we want the banner that we hold up when Celine arrives to read (example) WELCOME BACK CELINE...WE HAVE MISSED YOU!" The one to go in her dressing room (example) WE LOVE YOU - HAVE A GREAT SHOW!" I am really going to put on my "thinking cap" while I am off for the holidays.

 

Speaking of that...I wish each and everyone of you a wonderful, safe and very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I can't wait to meet you all!!

I can't imagine standing outside a long time in that kind of cold, so I probably won't be doing much participating in that...I will if it is in a hotel room or in a mall somewhere, but not outside. I get sick to easily, and I have another show after that to be well for, so I have to keep warm. Good luck on this project, though.

I agree, it is going to be COLD!! I wouldn't expect everyone to be spending a lot of time outside working on the banner. I am hoping that I can get an early check in at the hotel I am staying at Saturday night, if so, we can work on it there. Who knows, maybe Phillips Arena "people" will take pity on us, and let us come in there and work on it!! lol Never know...think POSITIVE!!

 

Is everyone UP for being outside starting around 4:30 to wait for Celine to arrive, holding up our finished banner!?!?!
