ByuSmurf Posted December 14, 2007 at 05:25 AM Posted December 14, 2007 at 05:25 AM (edited) You get a for remembering Billie Jean King - now do you recall the singer who wrote and dedicated a song to her and the significance of the name of the song? Oh yeah... her opponent was Bobby Riggs. I know Elton wrote Philadelphia Freedom for BJK because she once was on a team called that, but Bernie's lyrics don't really relate to her, so I don't really know what the significance is? BTW... Her bio on the History Channel was AWESOME!! Edited December 14, 2007 at 05:26 AM by ByuSmurf Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
celinedionsfan Posted December 14, 2007 at 04:39 PM Author Posted December 14, 2007 at 04:39 PM You are correct and that's the significance of the name of the song - that it was named for her tennis team and was dedicated to her and the team... This woman sang the the theme song for a movie she was in about a school in England. Many years later she re-prised her role and sang the song again for television movie which had the same title as the original with a II at the end.
