I think the most memorable part of the show was the AND Clip of Celine Trying, crying, and performing What a Wonderful World, the day her dad died. It brought tears to my eyes. What incredible strength she has to be able to do that in front of so many people.

 

 

The segment surrounding the death of Celine's father was about as emotional as it could possibly get. Celine was so brave to perform the night of her fathers death and was able to talk about it in a way which really made you feel for her. This was very much the real Celine talking, not the showbiz machine and rehearsed answers we sometimes see, and it showed. How it must've been to be in the audience in Vegas that night. We only saw a very brief clip of Celine performing "What A Wonderful World" from that night and she was breaking down as she sang the song, very very emotional. Brave girl.

 

Lemme tell you...I was at that show (November 30 , 2003 aka my 21st birthday lol), and the emotion you saw on that video doesn't even compare to how it was live. It was the most emotional, inspirational, and amazing night. The entire audiance spent the whole night in tears, it really felt like she let us in, it felt like we were all family mourning the loss of a loved one.

tried to download the clip but take s like 2 hours and im on broadband, plus it stops downloading after a while so i only manage to see half the clip :-(

 

Same here. I'll try to download tonight when it's not busy. I have high speed internet.

 

I have high speed too but the speed is so slow... I was downloading the 2nd part and it just stoped right after they showed the red head's video. So i didn't get to see what happens after including IDAN. Overall, it takes me hours (2-3) to download a single clip and that is with HIGH SPEED DSL!!!

Our server uplink constantly maxed out at 100mbps today. So if you experience slower speed than normal. Try it at a not so busy time.

Hello. I'm new here

My name is Taya and I'm 24 years old. I have been a fan of Céline's for over ten years...13 at least.

I met Céline at the end of June 2003.

 

I have a disability... (but I can walk normally but with a slight limp)so I went through the group "Sunshine Dreams For Kids." If you request your dream before you turn 20 it can be done at any time. I had requested in 2002. So I got the star treatment. Limo, first class, a week long stay at the Imperial Palace Hotel( right across from Caesars)

Box seats, meet and greet, merchandise, program, pictures etc.

 

I'm an artist so I drew a pic of a dragon and had written on it.

 

"Dear Celine,

I have been a fan of yours for over ten years, since about 1993. Your music has helped me through some really difficult times in my life. If it wasn't for you, I don't know where I would be now. Thank you."

 

Then I quoted Dante's La Vita Nuova:

 

"In that book which is my memory,

On the first page of the Chapter that is the day when I first met you,

Appear the words:

'Here begins a new life.'"

 

She had tears in her eyes by the end of it. She also autographed the cover of The Colour Of My Love CD Jacket, after I told her that The Colour Of My Love has always been very special to me... It was the very first album of hers I ever got.

I watched the show again with a friend who doesn't know Céline's music except for MHWGO. She was emotional throughout the program and was impressed with her voice and the strong connection Céline has with her fans. ....René was quoted in a french article that Céline's appearance on Oprah's program was the most important show in North America to launch TC

It's the truth. I was just saying today that I can't think of another artist who not only cares for but connects with their fans as much as Céline.

so far i watched ANDHC , BYLM , ALONE and TCH - i can't believe how strong and powerful she sounded on ALONE...as for TCH - eventho it's not my favourite song she absolutely nailed it - all the high notes and low ones were in tune and in place

 

i was a little scared when i realized she is doing the bridge on BYLM - it's been so long since the last time she sang that part - it was PERFECT - she nailed the youuuuuuuuuuu note

as for ANDHC - it was a mess...she couldn't hit the high notes so she just whispered them but who cares when the other songs sounded so good

 

i truely think there r songs that fit her voice and songs that she just should not sing live - OMG how powerful was she on alone?

Just saw the performance, not yet the interviews. I really liked A New Day Has Come and Because You Loved Me. Yes, they were short, yes they cut her off Grammy-Award-speech-you're-time's-over-style, but you hear and see that she's comfortable and familiar with those songs. Those are real good performances. IDAN as well, but I don't really care much about that song. MHWGO: yes live performance of the two most boring lines of the song. Woohoo, don't give her credit for that. Why did she do it actually again?! Then you get her new songs, Taking Chances and Alone, compared to her old hits, the performances were amateurish. I don't claim for more staged choreography on Taking Chances or for her to go air-traffic controlleuse on Alone, but those won't add to her reputation as a performer.

The song itself is so boring.

 

Vocally, Alone was stunning.

 

But you can't compare songs that she has sung more than a thousand times (it's like breathing for her now) with the ones she has never sung LIVE before. That's stupid.

Just watched TC- very good methinks. She seemed a little afraid when coming to the big notes but pulled the whole performance off v well. And she moved at least, which she didn't do in Alone.

tho I Drove All Night was really good. Being a fan of both versions (Céline's and Roy Orbison's) I know the song quite well

Yeah, actually Alone was better (except for the high note). But the whole show was amazing.
