Koolan Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:26 PM Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:26 PM (edited) OMFG...a fan who attended the taping told me Celine sung Taking Chances, Alone, A New Day Has Come, Because You Loved Me, I Drove All Night, and My Heart Will Go On!! The older songs are probably in a medley. She talked about RC, what it's like to leave Vegas, and her dad. That's all the scoop I have for now. -------------------- Review added on November 24, 2007 Sorry it took me... well, a month, better late than never, right? Enjoy! Taking a ChanceThe Oprah Winfrey ShowOctober 24, 2007 How did I get tickets to the Oprah Winfrey show when Céline Dion was her guest? Let’s just say I know somebody who knows somebody, and that somebody is pretty incredible! I found out two weeks ahead of time that my best friend Ashlee and I would be attending, although I didn’t believe it until we were actually there and Céline came walking onstage! I told Ashlee that she would finally see Céline again with me, not having seen her since 2004 in Las Vegas. It had been too long since we’d seen her together, and we could not have been more excited! In fact when I told Ashlee she would be seeing Céline Dion on the Oprah show, I didn’t think she would survive! No really, she nearly stopped breathing on me! To further confirm that it was meant to be, I got a phone call two days prior from the Oprah Winfrey show, telling me they would love to include me in their audience. Because I had written to them about how much I loved Céline, “in fact several times” over the years. I had to explain I already had reservations! I guess I was meant to be there! When I found out that I was going to see Céline on Oprah I had a certain idea as to how it would go… it was nothing like that at all! It’s not that my expectations weren’t met, or were exceeded - it was just nothing like I expected. First of all, Ashlee and I got there two hours early, even though as it turns out I was on the VIP reservations list, I’m assuming because of the person who got our tickets. That was cool to hear my name called specifically! But we arrived first, talked to this guy about which door to stand at, and while we were talking to him, my dad opened another door, and out popped this girl who worked there. It turns out she was the girl who called me on the phone a couple days ago offering me tickets… again! She remembered me! After checking our IDs, she gave us these little blue pieces of paper we had to fill out with a number on it, which was ultimately our ticket in. This way, thanks to her, we didn’t have to wait in line the whole time. So we went and ate breakfast, although we couldn’t eat! We met two ladies at the table beside us who were also going to the show, and knew it was Céline. They freaked out when I told them I’d seen her ten times in Vegas! They were also teachers, and had been to the My Favorite Things show when Oprah had an audience full of teachers. Afterwards we took our picture in front of the Harpo sign! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b143/ashleylovesceline/Oprah1.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b143/ashleylovesceline/Oprah2-1.jpg About a half hour before the doors opened, we went to stand in line. People were coming out from the morning show, and complaining that we got Celine, they got “Gay Around the World” and said it was way too serious. It was funny how everyone becomes friends with everyone during the whole entry process. Soon after, a guy with a camera came out, along with a couple of staff members. They announced to those who didn’t already know, that Céline was the guest. They wanted us to cheer, chant Céline, chant Oprah, etc. They taped us a lot! A couple of fans offered to sing, one girl sang “Because You Loved Me”, then a group from Quebec sang, “Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore”. Then a staff member noticed our shirts, with Céline across the front and said, “Come here, we have GOT to get them on camera!” So they had us cheer and blow kisses, I’m sure we looked ridiculous! Then we had to sign a special waiver so they could use us on air. The guy with the camera also filmed our feet as we were in line, I thought that was weird. But I was wearing cute shoes, however painful, so I didn’t question it! Then we went in, we were able to skip the blue paper part, and go right in to the security part. Our shirts were admired the whole way in and everyone wanted to know how we knew Céline was the guest. We said, “We know someone who knows someone,“ after about the fifth time I said loudly so everyone could hear, “I’m obsessed with Céline Dion!“ They took your coat, and gave you a number to pick it up after. They checked every corner of your purse, and took out whatever wasn’t allowed. They took my cell phone, and again gave me a number to pick it up afterwards. Then we were herded up the stairs into a room with chairs and TV screens playing clips from the show. There we had to wait for two hours! There were bathrooms downstairs, two women’s and one men’s. They gave us a blue paper to fill out to ask Céline a question. Mine was, “When will you record the songs you’ve written?” But no one’s question ended up being used. Finally someone came over the intercom, had us scream and shout to prove we were excited to be here for Céline! She told us no food was allowed in the studio, you’re not allowed to chew gum, to take our time down the stairs it wasn’t a race, and that she had some names to call first and then would begin calling numbers. Ashlee and I were excited because we had numbers 3 and 4! But when they called the VIP names, I was one of them! She apologized in advance if she pronounced anyone’s name wrong because she was horrible at names. She said my name wrong, but it was me! So we went back down the stairs, had to hand our blue papers over, and walk through a door. It was really dark except for a glowing Oprah sign. I realized later that it’s the same way Oprah enters, we were just coming from the opposite side. We walked in, and were sat immediately… in the fourth row, I was on the aisle. Everything was black and red, with spotlights everywhere. Then TV screens that said, “Oprah & Céline”. The stage was so small, and the studio was even smaller, I couldn’t believe this was the same thing I see on TV! I started not so quietly freaking out in my seat, saying out loud, “Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m at freakin’ Oprah!“ They soon started quietly playing Céline songs, like “I Drove All Night” and “River Deep, Mountain High” which I chair danced to, and the crew laughed at me! There were several crew members still setting up, fixing the lights, and hanging the sheer white curtain that fell over the stage. Then when everyone was seated, which took a while considering we were the first ones seated, the girl who I spoke to on the phone got up and spoke. She told us the rules again - to make sure to stand up if asked to speak during the show - and how the audience was filled with Céline’s biggest fans, they searched far and wide to have an audience full of her fans. Then another girl got up and said, “Ok, now we have some prizes to give away for Céline trivia!” I raised my hand before she asked the question! The question was, “What is Céline’s manager’s name?” She called on me, I said in a “duh” tone, “René Angélil.” She said, “Who is also her…” I said, “Husband.” She said, “Good job!” And threw me an Oprah hat. I was like, are they serious - that was my question? Then I thought, maybe they’re just warming up. Wrong. The next questions were: where was she born, how many brothers and sisters did she have, how many Grammys has she won (which they had the wrong answer to), and what was René-Charles’s birthday. No one knew René-Charles’ birthday except me at first, and I was laughed at being the only one with my hand raised! A guy on the opposite side finally answered, but didn’t seem too sure about his answer - he was correct though! My favorite was, what song did she win her first Grammy for. Someone said, “My Heart Will Go On”, the next person said, “Titanic”, the next person said, “Because You Loved Me”, and finally a guy got it right saying, “Beauty and the Beast”. Biggest fans? I don’t think so. Then another staff member got up to speak, she told us how she was a big Céline fan, and she especially loved her job today because she was able to see Céline rehearse. Then she spoke about how when word got out that Céline was a guest, their e-mail was overflowing with responses, because so many people love her. She told us that reactions were good, and we were encouraged to “Ohhh!“ and “Ahh!“ when necessary. She asked if anyone had any questions. Someone asked how many songs Céline would sing, she didn’t know for sure. Then the lady started asking the audience if anyone had seen her show in Vegas, she was right in front of me almost the whole time. I said, “Ten times!“ Her eyes got big and she went, “Did you say five times?“ I said, “No, ten times!“ The audience went, “Ooooh!“ She said, “Ok, stand up, somebody get these girls a mic!“ I said, “Oh, God.“ But Ashlee and I stood up, shaking and she said, “You guys are a little obsessed, huh?” I was like, “Just a little bit!” She had us show off our shirts, and we ended up giving everyone an education on going to Vegas to see the show! She wanted to know the best part, Ashlee said, “Céline!“ She asked me and I said, “Everything! You have to see it more than once because there is so much going on at once!“ She asked me about the choreography, I said that the dancers were so amazingly talented, and wonderful people as well. She asked me what hotel I would recommend, I said the Flamingo because you get a great view of Caesars and the Colosseum! The girl about my age behind me (who’d never seen Céline before and was freaking out) asked if someone could tell the camera people, if she were to pass out if they would be kind enough to get her good side! Then Ashlee said, “Do you have an EMT on stand-by?” She said, “No, but if you need one it’ll be here in seconds!” Haha. Then René walked in, right by me! I freaked out and everyone applauded him. I had never seen him in person before, it was surreal! He waved briefly then took his seat only three rows ahead of me. The lady asked René how his golf game was, he said it was so-so! Then she asked the girl behind me what her favorite song was she said, “Dance With My Father.” The lady whispered, “I thought Luther did that.” I whispered back to her, “She re-did it.” She laughed and said, “Oh! I knew I should have asked you!” Then I gave her a full history on the song, when Céline did it, etc. Ashlee told her that although Luther’s version is amazing, Céline’s rocks! She replied that she could barely make it through the Luther version, she couldn’t imagine what Céline’s would do to her! A girl in a wheelchair in the back asked if Céline was here with anybody else today. She responded, “René, her husband! You must have missed his entrance a little while ago!“ René turned around a waved at her, her mouth dropped open and she gasped! It was cute. Then the lady asked the staff if Oprah was walking yet, or if we had time for another song. They said, “When Oprah walks, the show begins - and it goes fast!“ There was time, so they started playing “The Power of Love”, and she told us all to sway and sing along. She said, “Doesn’t it give you chills?” Haha. I was singing along with everyone else, and she was right in front of me, she asked, “Who here can sing?” Ashlee yelled and pointed, “She can sing, she can sing!” I screamed, “No!” Then the lady put the mic down towards me, and I kept singing, although quieter. She said, “Hey, you can sing!” I said, “Not like her I can’t!” Everyone laughed. She pulled me up out of my seat, Ashlee pushing me from behind. She held the mic up to me and told me to keep going. I sang while laughing and said, “Oh my God.” All I could do was stare at the back of René’s head! She put her arm around me and said, “Aww, she’s shaking! Come on, it’s ok, I know you got more than that!” I said with hand gestures, “BUT RENÉ IS RIGHT THERE!” Everyone laughed and I could see his shoulders going up and down and his hand cover his mouth laughing at me too! This lady was holding me upright, and I now had my arm around her to stop my legs from giving out! I started singing, “Even though there may be times…“ while attempting to stop my entire body from shaking! Ashlee grabbed my hand, encouraged me, and told me to look at her and no one else. The chorus kicked in, so I went for it. I never sing in front of anyone… I am strictly a shower singer, but when will I be at Oprah again, and I’ve already gone this far! Something came over me, and although still shaking a lot, I belted the end with hand motions and everything! “The feeling that I can’t go on, is light years aaaaaaaway, ‘cause I’m your laaaadddyyy!“ Then I fell back into my seat, when I noticed I was getting a standing ovation! So crazy! They were filming me according to Ashlee, but I really hope that never sees the light of day! Ashlee later told me that Céline was already on stage when I was singing… because there was a sheer white curtain over the stage and you could see her silhouette! I will disregard that until I have comprehended that I sang in front of René! I still don’t believe I did that. Everyone around me said I had an amazing voice and that was so incredible. I asked them all, “Are you a fan?” One said she’d seen the show in Vegas five times, and loved her. I said, “And you thought I was good?” She said she thought I was really good! The girl sitting in front of me (who was later serenaded by Céline) said, “You have an amazing voice, that was so amazing!” Ashlee also told me I was incredible, and the fact that I was shaking gave me extra vibrato. She said later when I wouldn‘t believe her, “I’m your best friend, I would tell you if you sucked!” I could barely hear myself while I was singing, so I guess I’ll have to take her word for it. Finally it was announced that Oprah was on her way, so we were told to scream and applaud. She never came. So we waited and everyone was like, “Just jokin’!” At this point they had made us scream and yell so many times my throat was beginning to hurt, which is part of the reason why I found it hard to believe I was that good when I sang! The girl behind me was freaking out, having never seen Céline before, so Ashlee handed her some of our tissues, I asked her if she was ok. She made a noise and said, “Oh my God.“ I said, “Ok, I have some advice for you, when she comes out, she is real. It’ll take you a minute to comprehend that she’s real. But she is real!“ She laughed through her tears. Then we were told again that Oprah was walking, and then she came walking out... Oprah did not look like Oprah… she seemed very tired. But she came out, and walked behind our section, we were told to keep looking forward towards the stage. Then Oprah said, “Céline is heeerrreee!” Then the white curtain dramatically fell down and there was Céline, she sang a condensed version of “A New Day Has Come” just like the beginning of A New Day… For a minute there I thought I was back in Vegas! She looked beautiful in a black tulle dress, with leather leggings, of course extreme heels, and her hair was down and curly. She got a standing ovation after her first song, at some point Oprah had walked past me to get up front to sit next to René, because she walked up on stage to hug Céline, and say, “We’ll be right back.” Céline smiled at everyone and waved. She blew a big kiss to René - adorable. She seemed a bit nervous at first. Then the crew gave them their chairs, and they sat down on the right side of the stage, which was the side I was on, I had a really incredible view! I blew a kiss at Céline and her eyes sparkled at me, I think she spotted our shirts. While they were putting the mic on Céline and setting up, Céline noticed Oprah’s earrings and made not so subtle comments to René that she reeeallly loved them! Even breaking into song at one point, “…and Céline likes Oprah’s earrings!“ It was adorable! Then she told Oprah that her show was the only show where René was allowed to sit in the audience, he’s always backstage. She said it was wonderful to be able to sing her songs to him, because she’s always thinking of him, and now he’s right there so she can sing to him. Cue audience: “Awwwwww.” Céline then told Oprah that even though she is so much in love with René, she still finds him intimidating at times. The next segment was about the show in Vegas coming to an end, and about René-Charles. Oprah talked about Céline being in O Magazine, talking about how maturity comes with age, and how wonderful that is. They played a video montage of Céline talking about Vegas, how it almost didn’t happen. She talked about the crowds, and how amazing it has been for people to come see her. Céline said it’s going to be very hard, because it’s been such stability for her. She said, not only the home life, but also the show is so well planned out that she knew exactly what would happen, and when she would be able to go home to her son. She then said she doesn’t count how long she’s been doing A New Day… by years, but by the birthdays of her son. She spoke about how her son doesn’t like to go out, because he’s smart enough to know if they do go out as a family, there will have to be security, etc. And there is a very good chance his mom will be approached. Céline impersonated those fans saying they come up to her and go, “Oh my God… it’s Céeeeline Dion!” She wasn’t being disrespectful to her fans or anything by that, just trying to describe her son’s point of view. Oprah commented on his hair, Céline said he has hair because René doesn’t have any! Then they took a break. I noticed that the audio in the studio, aside from Céline singing was hard to hear. Oprah asked if René-Charles was here, Céline said he was still asleep at the hotel when she left. They were leaving for London at 2am. Then she joked like leaving for London was an everyday occurrence, “Just leaving for London!” Then Oprah said that the audience was filled with Céline’s biggest fans, and that there was a special surprise in store for one in particular. Then a video played of this girl, in college, who started a campaign for people to write in to Oprah to help her meet Céline, and they surprised her with a video message of Céline telling her she was coming to the Oprah show! The girl showed of her shrine, and she did mention she was going to get a tattoo of Céline! Céline’s face was priceless when that was said! The girl also talked about how when she had to give a speech of some sort, she forgot her dialogue, so she started saying the lyrics to “My Heart Will Go On”. She went up on stage and hugged Céline. Then Céline let her take her seat, and Oprah fixed her hair, and when the girl turned her head, she screamed as if she’d forgotten Oprah was on the other side of her! It was funny! Céline took her hand and held it, when Oprah asked her if she could believe she’d met Céline, she said, “I’m holding her hand!“ Céline then started dancing and singing The Beatles, “I wanna hold your haaand, I’m holding your hand!“ Then Oprah said Céline was taking requests, and she could ask her to sing whatever she wanted. She chose “I Drove All Night”, so Céline sang a small portion of that! We all did the hand motions with her! I started clapping instinctively just like at A New Day…, and started the audience clapping along! They went to break, and the girl got a picture really quick with Oprah and Céline and then had to take her seat again. When they came back, Oprah introduced another fan (who was sitting right in front of me!) and she told me later that it was her husband’s friend’s wife who wrote it for her. She had just seen Céline in Vegas over the summer, and when she began to cry during “Because You Loved Me”, her friend had asked why. It was because it was the song her and her father danced to, and he had recently died of cancer. Everyone in the row in front of us was crying and we ended up throwing them more of our tissues! Céline ran down to the girl in front of me, kneeled down and nearly in tears told her that she had lost her dad too, she knows that pain, and it will get better with time. Céline hugged her so tightly. Then the girl pointed out her mom down the row, and Céline said it would get better and blew her a kiss. I checked on Ashlee briefly to make sure she was still upright, being Céline was within arms reach, and she was - to my shock and disbelief, completely composed. Then Céline said she would love to dedicate “Because You Loved Me” to her and her dad. Céline sang so beautifully a good portion of the song, her feet were at my feet! Literally inches away. I’ve been that close before, but never been that close during a performance! Ashlee and I both later agreed that we could smell her perfume, which was of course her own, Notes! The girl got up to give her mom a hug who was in tears, so Céline turned, stood up, and ended up singing to me, and I back to her for a moment, then she sang to the audience, then back down at me. I remember she sang, “…shining your love into my heart…“ down at me, while putting her hand over her heart. I winked at Céline, still singing along, trying to help her not to cry. I could see Oprah singing in the background too, arms in the air! When the song ended she gave the girl a big hug again, then made her way back onstage. The girl behind me made this noise like she hadn’t taken a breath the whole time Céline was in front of us! I reached back and said, “Are you ok?” She was shaking and went, “Oh my God!” I said, “It’s ok!” She was so cute. Before Céline went back onstage, she turned to René, wiped a tear from his cheek and kissed it. So precious. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b143/ashleylovesceline/Oprah3-1.jpg << I'm in the black shirt. The next segment, Oprah played a clip of Céline singing “What A Wonderful World” the night she found out her father had passed away. Céline didn’t know René had given it to Oprah, later saying to him, “I‘ll talk to you after da show!” Céline could barley watch it, and was fighting the tears. Her initial reaction when she realized what this was footage from, was a combination of shock and slight anger at first. I wanted to charge the stage and hug Céline - it was almost unbearable to watch her watch it - let alone see it at all. It was really hard to watch Céline, unable to sing, crying hysterically, and on her knees incapable of standing. At the end she said “I love you, Papa.“ in French. It was so heartbreaking. After the clip had been shown, Céline was still struggling not to cry, revealing that she had never seen it before. She then spoke about her dad, and how she felt she needed to perform that night, for him. She said how she had collapsed afterwards. Oprah asked her what the best advice her father ever gave to her was. She talked about how when she succeeded, he felt that the whole family succeeded, and how he loved his family so much. Then they took another break, came back and Oprah then played the video of Gayle singing “Because You Loved Me” tone-deaf during their road trip! Céline’s face was hysterical!! Then they surprised another fan, there was a video of a wife who said her husband was a closet Céline fan, and he loved “My Heart Will Go On”, so Céline sang a portion of it for him. Making jokes before saying, “That sounds familiar!” Then after saying, “You know when I’m asked to sing that song, I can’t believe I’ve sang it millions and millions of times, but after I sing it and they applaud, I remember why I love it so much.” Then they were ready for Céline to perform her new song. René would help Oprah down the steps to her seat every single time, such a gentleman! Céline was staring off into space, fixing her hair, checking her in ears, etc. Then a crew member asked Oprah if she was ready, and she said, “Whenever Céline is ready.” Céline’s eyes got big and she goes, “Oh! I’m sorry! I was just checking myself out, like I’m in front of the mirror taking my time!” Then she started fluffing her hair out and picking up her dress. Oprah commented on her dress, asking if the leggings came with it. Céline said, “No. The dress is classic Céline…” then picking up her dress nearly all the way up showing off her leather leggings, “…and this is rocker Céline!” I went, “Woooohooo! Ou! Ou!” Then she started shaking her dress back and forth playing it up! She performed, “Taking Chances” and it was incredible to see her sing this live! Once again, I started clapping along, and many audience members soon followed. She noticed the fans who already knew the words, which consisted mostly of Ashlee and I! She sang, “So talk to me, talk to me like lovers do…“ to René! She pointed and smiled at the girl who won the biggest fan contest! When the music stops in the middle of the song, and she throws her arm up in the air -- for some reason I did the same thing! I threw my fist in the air, just like she did, exactly when she did. She saw me do it, and she glanced over at me stopping herself from laughing! She got so into it with the air guitar she popped a couple of hooks on her dress, so while they were waiting on Céline’s wardrobe and hair stylists, Oprah tried to fix it. Oprah joked it probably took somebody hours to put those hooks in, and the dress probably costs more than a car! Céline said, “This is definitely not a singing dress, all I did was breathe!“ Then she exclaimed, “Maybe I shouldn’t breathe then!“ as she puffed her cheeks out and held her breath! Then she started laughing hysterically as Oprah tried to fix it, and then started singing, “Your every woman, it’s all in you! Anything you want done baby, you’ll do it naturally!” Haha. Finally they put Céline back together again! Céline always so polite, said thank you to her wardrobe people more times than I could count! It took quite a while for them to set up, and Oprah had complaints about the lighting. René came up onstage to talk to Céline for a moment. Then Céline began prancing across the stage, entertaining herself, behind Oprah and a couple of her crew members, drinking her water. Playing with her straw, and at one point I think she nearly spit water on Oprah because she was laughing so hard while making jokes at all of us! Every time Oprah would glance over at Céline to see what we were laughing at, she would act like nothing was happening. By about the third time, Oprah caught on! It was taking a really long time, so Céline went down and sat next to René in Oprah’s seat saying, “I’ll keep it warm for you!“ Then she starting singing “What do you say to taking chances?!“ and flirting with René, speaking French to him - so sweet! The group from Quebec called out to her, she turned her head and waved. Then, being I was only a couple yards behind her, I said (without yelling), “I love yooooou!“ She turned her head over her shoulder around towards me immediately and said with a big smile, “I looooove you tooooo!“ I blew her a kiss and she winked! Then people next to me said, “We’ll see you in December!“ Céline said, “December? Alright! I’ll be there too! You‘re comin‘ to see me right?“ Then finally they had everything set up, and Céline made her way back onstage. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b143/ashleylovesceline/Oprah4.jpg << Céline laughing at me! Oprah announced that one lucky audience member would win tickets to the final A New Day… show. I nearly fell out of my seat, and Céline’s eyes got big, leaned forward, and gasped! They taped Céline in the studio earlier and had her choose a seat at random, and whoever ended up sitting in that seat during the show, won tickets, all expenses paid. It ended up being someone the row behind us, about five seats in! Fifth row, fifth seat in, I find it hard to believe that was a coincidence! Then they went to break again. Céline asked Oprah if she wanted to go to the last show. Oprah asked if there were still tickets available. Céline sang, “Whatch you want, baby I got it!” Then I went, “Oh!” Then Céline said, “Whatch you need, you know I got it!” Then Ashlee and I went, “Oh!” Then she sang, “All I’m asking!” Then we sang with her, “is for a little respect, just a little bit!” Then she pointed and said, “Yeah, baby!” Too funny! Everyone laughed. You could see René just hanging his head, like --- “Céline you’re here to promote your NEW album!” Haha. Oprah said she had something scheduled for December 15th, but couldn’t remember what it was. I wanted to yell, “Did I just hear you turn down Céline tickets for the last show?!” But I restrained myself. Then Céline went to sing her final song, and it was “Alone”. When Oprah said she would sing “Alone”, I threw my arms up and went, “Yes!” So did Ashlee. I didn’t mean to react out loud, but I was so excited to hear her perform this song! Céline laughed! Before she began to sing, she did some vocal warm-ups, René & Oprah both asked if she was ok, she said she was. She only sang a little part of it, but it was still incredible to hear her sing that song! Then Oprah came up on stage and said, “Goodbye everybody!” Then took Céline around the audience, instead of through it, which I thought was weird. Then she took her in the back a few rows behind us, Céline scooted into the crowd, saying “Excuse me!“, “Thank you!“ She had to say something that was on the teleprompter. Beforehand she talked to the group of people from Quebec in French, then spotted an adorable little girl seated right behind Ashlee and went, “Hi bébé!“ The little girl’s mouth dropped open, it was priceless. She then began to tape her promo message. The first time it was, “I’m here at the Oprah Winfrey Show with 300 of my new friends! The wait is over for my new albummablahah….” Then she sarcastically commented on how professional she was, and turned around to us going, “Blalahahahaha!” while making faces! Oprah said, “Wait, don’t have her say that second part.“ Oprah put her hand over her forehead like a damsel in distress saying it sounded like, “Ohhh, the wait is oooover!“ Then Céline started talking in this “old lady” voice, “Oh, the waaaaaiit is overrrrr! Tale as old as time, true as it can be, beauty and the beast!” It was hysterical, I was nearly in tears laughing so hard!!! Then Céline tried again once they’d taken that part out. She said, “I’m here at the Oprah Winfrey Show with 300 of my new friends!” We were cued to cheer and scream! Then she messed up when trying to say that she was surprising some of her biggest fans with their favorite songs and giving a sneak peek of her new album. She turned around again going, “Blalalalahahhhhha!” at us! Oprah was right behind me, and she was joking that when Céline said she was here on Oprah she wanted to jump up behind her with her hands in the air! Oprah nearly fell into my lap when she did this, even having to grasp herself on my chair, it was funny! Then Céline said it a third time, this time getting it right. But at the end of her speech she had to say that her album is in stores ‘tomorrow‘. Then she kept reading the teleprompter when it listed stores it was available in, “At Borders… at Target…at Wal-Mart…” Then Céline turned around to us laughing, throwing her arms in the air, saying, “You can get it anywhere!!” She was hysterical! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b143/ashleylovesceline/Oprah5-2.jpg << I'm over Céline's shoulder, on the left. Céline turned around to walk back into the studio. Obviously wanting to say goodbye to her fans, and go get René. But Oprah pulled her by the hand to lead her out of the studio. Céline took her hand back and stopped at the entrance, waving all directions really briefly - obviously wishing she could have at least thanked everyone for coming - knowing the audience was filled with fans of hers. She looked at the fans who she could tell were the big fans, including the group from Quebec. Céline looked at Ashlee and I with a sad face, waving at us as well. We waved back and blew kisses. René came walking past me, his back was to me. Ashlee pointed him out to me. I tapped him on the shoulder, at first I didn’t think he was going to turn around. But he did! I stepped forwards, extended my hand, and said, “Hi, René!” He’s very handsome, and pictures don’t do him justice, he has such velvety eyes. He smiled, tightly shook my hand, winked, graciously bowed his head, and said, “Hello!!” So polite. Then walked to Céline who was being drug out of the studio! She took his arm and put it around her as they walked out. Then the show was over. It went really, really fast! Faster then you ever thought it could be! But it was an unforgettable and amazing experience. Entirely worth it just to see Céline off camera, joking around, sitting next to René flirting with him, and being able to say I attended an Oprah Winfrey show. I can also say that I not only met René, but sang in front of him (and apparently Céline as well)- although I haven’t yet decided how I feel about the whole singing part! Shaun Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:28 PM Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:28 PM Amazing news, thanks Vic! Probable confirmation of Alone being the 2nd single then? Nice also to hear about Celine singing some of her "new" old songs in A New Day Has Come and I Drove All Night. tativale Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:34 PM Posted October 24, 2007 at 09:34 PM OMFG...a fan who attended the taping told me Celine sung Taking Chances, Alone, A New Day Has Come, Because You Loved Me, I Drove All Night, and My Heart Will Go On!! The older songs are probably in a medley. She talked about RC, what it's like to leave Vegas, and her dad. That's all the scoop I have for now. Thanks for the info Vic!!!! I cannot wait to watch the show!!! hehe Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/tativale/lildoll.gif"Sometimes we talk with our eyes and it says more than 10,000 words" moiIt's always possible to change! winforlife Posted October 24, 2007 at 10:09 PM Posted October 24, 2007 at 10:09 PM (edited) Looking forward to hearing Céline sing on Oprah If she is only singing TC and Alone, it seems as though Alone will be the next single. I love the song, but Eyes On Me would have been a better choice. Hopefully a third single will be released.
