for sure ....Celine is no longer fit in to the music industry nowadays,...Celine will still carry her tittle as "The Biggest Selling Female Artiste of All Time" but that is decades ago....obviously she cant compete with all these little Britney, Beyonce, Alicia, Leona Lewis, Christina and so on....people in today world dont call for true talent..they dont care how wide and big your vocal range..and how good the music you produced....the only thing that they care is the genre of music that produced by their idol, which is much more follow the trend rather than appreciate true music and talent. Celine is not losing in term of good music, magnificent performance..she is losing focus in the eyes of today teenager.....I am not being pessimistic, for today kids Celine Dion is just a big name perhaps not even recognize who is Celine and for them......Celine is not what they want in their life.....and worst...Celine is boring and outdated....a commercialize award presentation like AMA wont qualify at all to give a statement that Celine is no longer the true DIVA....who the hell care whether people focus is on Beyonce but not Celine performance....

 

IT IS PROVEN THAT HER TAKING CHANCES WORLD TOUR 2008 SELL VERY VERY WELL and it is a record 4 shows sold out in 35 mins.

 

As we knw..for sure she will performs Taking Chances and worst still we were to expect she is to lip-syne at AMA...but this doesnt mean she cant sings....she losing her charm in her performance....but as a fans we need to accept the fact that Celine is in control of her voice instead of letting her voice to control her. Therefore, what we get nowadays from Celine live performance even studio recording is lackin of power in her voice and also flexibility (Not that she cant sing anymore I M PRETTY SURE SHE STILL CAN SINGS LIKE back to 90s....it just she doesnt want to sing at all....she try as gentle as she can in very songs.....) Good sign or bad sign? heaven Knows

I don't care whether she can compete with BS or AK. Can Barbra out sell Beyonce? Does that mean Beyonce is superb than Streisand?

 

There're always many big names in this industry, say James Brown, Prince and Aretha Franklin, and "unfortunately", their records sell miserablely nowadays. But guess what, when people referring to these "best XXX in history" things, they are the ones on top of the charts. Celine delivers us an amazing album and that's all. You're enjoying her music, not the sales numbers...

i'll be the first to admit she could sell much more with a better first single and a diffrent record label YET saying that she is not a force in the industry anymore and that she doesn't have a place in the music industry nowdays is redicilous

 

she still sales more than most of the artists eventho she is almost 40 , she sells more than any other female artist her age even today ...as for alicia and other young acts - they'll never sell 200 million albums , they won't even sell 50 million

 

ofcorse it's a waste knowing how great this new album is , but we got used to it by now (remember an album called DELLES?!?)

Agree with you, Shaun She's been performing like a zombie in almost all the US shows with TC. SHe needs to show more of her 'thing' and she really really needs to wear something good like she did in the UK TV shows
