And Celine will not be in South Africa during the Grammys. The Grammy Awards are on February 10 and Celine doesn't start her tour until the 14.

 

And she will probably already be in South-Africa rehearsing or sight-seeing when the Grammy's take place :)

 

With only 4 days before the start, there's a VERY good chance she's already there prepping.

Grammy and Celine always means great live performance. So if she's nominated or not is just a minor detail. Just let her perform.

When was the last time she performed at AMA. Wasn't it TPOL in 1994?!

On the one hand, it's good that she'll be performing at the AMA. Sadly that show is not very widely watched unlike the Grammys. And Celine will not be in South Africa during the Grammys. The Grammy Awards are on February 10 and Celine doesn't start her tour until the 14. This is her comeback album and she ought to be at the Grammys, the most important night in the music world. And who knows: she's so powerful that she may be the first singer to perform at both event, especially if she's nominated.

If Celine is at the AMA, there is a good reason I think, and they know that she won't be able to perform at the Grammy. At this date she will probably already be in Africa, and it's very difficult to go to the grammy if you're not nominated or invited... But, Céline has a lot a chance to be invited for 2009.

 

Amoung all those live performances, I hope that she will sing at least one time That's just the woman in me. :wub:

Wrong! She can be nominated since the cut-off date is in late September 30. Her single was serviced to radio well before that date so that makes her eligible for single, song and performance of the year for the song Taking Chances. Her album will be eligible next year.

Matthias: she doesn't need to be there 4 days before. 1 or 2 days is plenty. Her show will be rehearsed well in advanced here in the USA before she begins her tour.

great news, the next two months are so action packed, and she'll be everywhere, its a great feeling, but shes gonna be soooo exhausted at the end of this promotinal tour, bless her...

It's not that taking chances is not a great song, but it's not with this kind of song that she will be nominated, so she won't.

It's not that taking chances is not a great song, but it's not with this kind of song that she will be nominated, so she won't.

So what you meant to say was :"I don't think she'll be nominated".. right?? :giggle:

BTW, does the forum have a calendar for Celine events coming up? you know like a nice agenda, that would be nice to have so we dont miss out on anything.

Don't underestimate this. This world tour is a BIG undertaking, plus remember that she will be there with her family. She wants to be able to rest properly and energise for the tour/first gigs and arriving 1-2 days BEFORE the very first gig is not the way to go. Plus a LOT of artist arrive much earlier for the start of the tour to prep it all.

 

Just like they did quite some days of prepping for the very first AND show....IN Vegas.

Because it's part of promoting her latest album. And if she gets nominated next year it'll be a bonus performance :giggle:

it's much more important to perform live as much as she can RIGHT now - people should know she has a new album out . until the grammy's telecast we don't know what would be the situation ...we do know that the cbs special will air around february probably which means great promotion later on too .

Wonderful news! :clapping: :clapping: Better for her to perform at the AMA because it will be great exposure for the album - which will be 5 days old when she performs there! It will be good for 2nd week sales as we know sales of major artists drop a lot on the second week following the release...

The AND show is different. It required rehearsing on that specific stage for technical reasons. A world tour is rehearsed weeks ahead of time before the very first show. The only rehearsal Celine will need to do there is a sound check.

I agree. But that has nothing do with the Grammys :giggle:

 

Her album needs CONTINUED promotion. It's not okay to do full promo for a couple of weeks around the release date. It has to be done for a few months supporting the fist couple of singles. That's why they'll show the CBS special in February. The album will be 3 months old and most likely out of the top 10. It will be very important for Celine to be at the Grammys whether she's nominated or not.
