Ok, so I've finally listened to the entire album, and I can say that I LOVE almost all of the songs... Unfortunately there are a few that still don't grow on me - surprisingly one of them is La Diva, even though Celine singing opera is simply majestic... I also don't like La lettre de George Sande, but, surprisingly, I love Berceuse.... even though I totally hated the idea of another baby song, this one is simply .... simply wonderful!:)

 FINALLY!!! I just finished listening to the whole album..........for the 5th time and keeps on going jejeje...and I have to say that I LOVE IT every single song blends perfectly with the next one....the arrangements, the voice, the lyrics, the concept....truly an amazing work

I can't get over A Cause, La Diva, Femme Comme Chacune ( it truly brings a smile to my face at the very moment it starts with "Retenir dans mes bras la nuit

Adelante et voluptueuse" ), and On s'est aimé a cause (gosh! what a good song!)

jajaja I have all kind of feelings going through my head...it's really an emotional roller coaster ...... :in_love:

I'm in cloud #9 here!!!!

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une - Fantastic from first listen, and still hasn’t gotten old. Her voice sounds incredible, and the beginning bit is different than we’re used to hearing in her songs; she sings with much conviction, and sounds forceful. I love how it builds up, then slows down a bit, then gets powerful again, and ends softly . I love it.

Immensité - Perfect pop song. The arrangement and instrumentation is fantastic throughout the entire song. First the guitars, then adding violins, then the piano kicks in. It has a great melody; she sings very straight to the point again, and I absolutely love her phrasing throughout the song. Of course no Celine song would be complete without at least a small powerful part, which is not left out. Another gorgeous song.

À cause - The beat is incredible, it’s very catchy. I can definitely see this played in a club. Her voice sounds incredible. Overall a great uptempo song, and not a bit cheesy or camp. My only critique of this song is that it doesn’t include a particular high note; I think that would have made it that much more incredible, but as is it’s still an amazing song; one of the better on the album.

Je cherche l'ombre - Of course the beginning piano is absolutely beautiful. I find the entire arrangement and vocal very haunting. The tin whistle (is that what it even is?) is a gorgeous addition, and the Irish influence is apparent. Her voice is very subdued save for a couple powerful lines which works very well for the song. She really sounds amazing and pure. Overall the song is incredible.

Le paradis - For some reason this song didn’t catch me immediately, but after a few listens it has an interesting melody. It’s definitely grown on me. Not quite what I’d expect from the title, but it’s a nice enough song. Nice vocals of course. One of the weaker tracks for me, but that doesn’t say much because it’s a great song.

La diva - As I’ve said, it’s the best song on the album for me. It’s one of the most “complete” songs she’s ever done, and it really sounds like she’s telling a story. The beginning opera sort of introduces the concept, and she sings the story with incredible power, and then softens up at the end and closes the entire experience while singing along to the music she’s been singing about. (that’s what I get out of it anyway) Her voice is absolutely jaw dropping, and the arrangement is perfect. I can’t express how amazing the ending is; her falsetto was perfect singing along with Maria Callas. It’s one of the most beautiful songs she’s ever done and probably ever will do. It’s amazing and brings chills to my spine.

Femme comme chacune - Another one that I had to hear a few times to really get a picture of it. The arrangement is very strange and unusual. It starts one way, then goes a different direction for the chorus, almost folky/country, then goes back to strange for another verse. I definitely like it after hearing it several times because it’s a bit different. I’m not sure I feel it’s a strong part of the overall album atmosphere, but it’s still a very nice song. Falsetto at the end is great!

Si j'étais quelqu'un - This is another switcheroo! It starts off being one way and then kicks into the chorus and then the guitars throw a surprise! She kicks the vocals into high gear as well, and “rocks” out a bit. I actually really like it! Took a few listens, but I definitely like it. Another departure from her usual song choice. I like that there a few surprise songs that we really haven’t heard before from her!

Je ne suis pas celle - Now this arrangement has a very mysterious and haunting sound to it! I loved it from the first listen, and the vocals are incredible. The emotion just pours out of her while singing it! I keep saying it, but her falsetto is seriously on point throughout the entire album. I couldn’t be more happy, because it was less than satisfactory on Miracle. Of course the powerful part at the end is always appreciated and expected. Great and interesting song!

Le temps qui compte - She sings this song with a very warm and soothing tone. I adore her voice when she sings lower. As everyone has mentioned this song is very reminiscent of Contre Nature, but more mature and interesting; also has a darker feeling with the electric guitars, which sounds really great. I like it a lot!

Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset - Quite honestly a major bore-fest, and the speaking intro will probably prevent me from listening to the song too often. I mean she sounds amazing speaking French, and the vocals are gorgeous but it’s not a very melodic song, and again the intro is just too long for me to wait around for the actual song. I would have preferred something else in it’s place, but she does sound very beautiful. I would have preferred this to be perhaps a bonus song or hidden track or something; I don’t like that it takes the place of an actual song. The very last notes she sings (oooh, oooh, ooooh) is worth listening to the entire song for because the way her voice breaks just a little bit is incredible because you can just feel the emotion she’s singing.

On s'est aimé à cause - God this song is unbelievable. The acoustic guitar at the beginning is really amazing, and the way her voice comes in and it’s just the two of them for a short time sound beautiful. Everything about this song is absolutely incredible. The arrangement is brilliant, and it’s some of the best vocals of her career I feel. I mean she really feels the song and you can very much hear it in her voice. It just brings out such a happy feeling in me when I listen to it. I can’t say enough good things about the way she interprets the lyrics, especially since they’re the same as another completely different arrangement. The two versions could not be more different, and they sound like completely different songs, which I absolutely applaud and adore because it could have been a disaster like Sorry for Love was. They really put a lot of thought and effort into making them both very different and unique. Second best song on the album, and again one of the best songs she’s done in her entire career.

Berceuse - This song could definitely be in cheeseville given the lyrics, but actually the vocal is amazing, and the very beginning notes are just unbelievable (is she saying Shh, Shhh)? I really can’t believe some of the notes that come out of her mouth are so amazing even when they aren’t actual words. I got worried reading people say she repeats herself like crazy, but she does it in a way that doesn’t sound repetitive. It’s a very beautiful song, and a fine way to close the album, although I would switch it around with the “letter” song.

Overall of course this album is without a doubt one of the finest moment of her career so far. The material is superb quality, and the vocals on the entire album are just astounding. We all had our doubts, but really this should put them to rest. I feel like she took her very precious time and put a lot of thought into each song, and really sung from her heart. Giving us the power notes we all love, but also giving us pure and raw emotional performances with an unbelievable vocal quality and tone. The concept was really brilliant and although I don’t understand, nor have even read the lyrical translations, they do not feel shallow to me, and I think they are definitely above average quality. I can’t even express how proud I am of this album, and of Celine and her entire team. It really is something to be extremely proud of, and everyone did a phenomenal job from the writers to the producers to the musical arrangements, and of course Celine for singing them with such emotion and heart. It just feels more special than her other ones. It’s a real class act, and I just adore it and it makes me love her even more than I did!

i have to say that it's now few days after and i wouldnt change most of the grades i gave HOWEVER there is one song that i'm starting to like more and more and i cant believe i'm saying it but the song is "Berceuse" :mdr:

yes it's the same old stuff about RC and MIRACLE and yada yada yada but again - the arragments , the music , the lyrics about her career and how she feels it hurts RC ...there is something about this song after all so....the grade i gave it was 6.5/10 and i'm very happy to change it to 7.5/10 :giggle:

the rest is the same for me which means this album is amazinggggggg - i know that some of u give 10/10 or 9/10 almost to each song...i never give such high grades unless it's really out of this world and 4 songs got 8-10/10 on my review which means that....r u ready?!? - for me it's her best french album ever

yes that's right guys - more than DEUX and more than SSD

À cause - Such a great uptempo song from Celine, how i wish disco will play this song...too bad this song lack of one high notes, instead of going higher and higher, Celine choose to go lower and lower......if she can hold that long higher and highest then this song is flawless. But still it is s a great song by Queen of My Heart-Celine Dion

Je cherche l'ombre - Love the piano intro and celine voice come in at the right time, while i still enjoying the piano and here come the irish instrumental..i find Tu Nages shadow in this song but this X1000 times better than tu Nages...

Le paradis - My Second Fav of this album, Listen carefully, this song similar to Le temps qui compte, both songs gave me the same feeling, once i listen, confirmed and certified these 2 are the best from this album. I love this kind of production and Celine sounded so good in this song.....

La diva - This could be the best song over Celine singing career, the intro of Maria Callas and the ending of our Soprano Celine completed the whole song. I don't know french so i've no idea what Celine singing but by interpreting from the melody with celine magical voice, i guess this song suppose to be release when Celine decided to go for forever break in her music career. As the whole song is like a short film....from soft beginning to ochestra and celine souring and then calm down then souring again.....it is like a summary of Celine singing long journey....and then the last part where celine singing in opera ....is like the final curtain fall after a stage performance. Just like Celine saying goodbye to all the beloved audience and fans that this is the end and thanks for all of us company and never give up on her thru out her singing career and the curtain fall and she will never come back again...this is a beautiful ending to her lifetime career.

Femme comme chacune - Wow....the intro is so "hunting" (In love with that)..Definitely love this song...this song remind me of Josh Groban "Weeping". This song is like never give you a break.....after the first chorus, i expect celine break and start of with same rythm but not, Celine even bring me another level higher and keep on showcasing her vocal capability...then come to the chorus....it is so fun and at if like i m riding roller coaster and was flying high up the sky....then keep up the beat and go on and on with the chorus and Celine sounded amazing in this song.....superb

Si j'étais quelqu'un - I think i need to listen to this song for several then only it will start to grow on me....dont get me wrong....i love this song but not as deep as how i love the rest.

Je ne suis pas celle - Another song that i find the shadow of Tu Nages...but this is nicer .....this song need time to grow on me.....But Celine voice is so good in this song.

Le temps qui compte - I guess this could be my 1st fav song of this album, really the 1st time i listen to it, i really think this is another Contre nature and just dont know....this song make me love it so much, the melody (simple but great) and Celine voice mix so well with this song......i like when come to chorus part.....just touch my heart so strong.....The power of CEline Dion..the more i listen ..the more i cant get enough of it.

Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset - Even the speech at the beginning very long, but i just adore Celine speaking french and this song is simple and nice.......

On s'est aimé à cause - Suddenly I find Abba shadow inside this song.....it is so Abba type of song....It sound a bit like The Winner Takes It All from Abba but a rather slow version ballad , Celine did a great job on this song...really feel the song deeply and it is completely different from the dance acause..the last notes was like wow....so perfect...love it this is my 3rd Fav from this album...it could soon be my number 1. fav. in this album...

Berceuse - Nice song to end the whole album......from the 1st track to the second last track....we have different genre of music from Celine, songs that are well-produced and lyrically beautiful, and finally come to last track...celine has never let the fans down...ended the album with such a clam and beautiful song.....close my eyes now and having a cup of coffee at hand and sitting relaxingly at the sofa......truly the best album from Celine

Overall this french album is definitely a masterpiece in her french career, someone might said it still cant top D'uex and no matter what and how, i completely in love with this album more than any of her previous french albums, not to say previous not good but if i were to choose one the best.....surely this one.......this album is just like a cup of water that quench our thirst in the sahara dessert.......and soon we will found a fountain (i am referring to english album, the release of AND DVD and World Tour...........) Listening carefully, i can feel the emaotions and effort that celine put into this album....cant wait to get the CD.........

Hi I just listened the whole album last night on msn... Today after 10 hours... In mind I keep thes melodies:

- On s'est aime a cause

- Immensite

- La diva

- A cause

- Si j'etais queq'un

- Femme Comme Chacun

- Je cherche l'ombre

- Les paradis

the rest I don´t rememember a thing even when a heard the at least 3 times each...

I agree , GREAT ALBUM, Best Celine Ever !!! Even when I love sop much her previous 2 studio releases in french...

I think Sony is trying to get things in the right way.... Or maybe Celine and René...

THANKS A LOT FOR THIS GIFT !!!

By the way, I purpose (like all of you said before) "A cause" to be 3rd single, they should include the slow version in the single and 2 or 3 other mixes... And releasing 2 different videos, one for each version (fast/slow)...

That would be # 1 for the rest of the year for sure ...!!!

I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thing

FEMME COMME CHACUN !!! WHAT A GREAT SONG

IT MAKES SO HAPPY THE RITHYM WHEN SHE SINGS ... :

"Savoir ou se couche le vent"

And later when the chorus in the background says:

"La nuit" ...

I have listened to this album like 15 times in less than 20 hours ... SO GOOD !!!

I am the only one? Sorry, but I cannot share your positive reviews.

Sure, some songs on the album are good, but that's not that good album I was waiting for.

I find her voice not very variable, the songs are not more than good pop songs, but I cannot find something new or innovative on these album. I miss something on this album. My prefered french album is still SISDA. This one? I am very sad to say that, but no, never in my lifetime I will understand this kind of album.

My prefered songs on thes album is "Je cherche l'ombre" or "lettre de..." and of course the first two ones on the album (good, not very good). On the other side I ask me how she can tape "A cause". The worst french song of her ever.

I will not diss "my" Celine, really never, and I hope for her, this album will be a big succses (and it's my taste that is bad, and not hers...).

Celine, now I am simply waiting for your next English album.

Yeah, buddy you are pretty much the lone ranger with that opinion. If this album doesn't do it for ya, I wouldn't hold hope for anything else hitting the spot! :) Sorry you weren't able to get into it more though, I know it's always a dissapointment when you wait so long for something and it's not what you hoped for.

Take your time friend... maybe you´´re gonna love it soon... Just let it grow inside of you... and hear La Diva meanwhile... There she speaks about what is not to satisfy people as an artist... (and is an awesome song!!!)

few days ago i declared that for me DELLES is celine's best french album ever . today i already think it's probably one of her best albums and i include the english ones as well . it's up there with FIY and LTAL . lyricaly - it's her best album ever probably :giggle:

there r only 2 songs that i skip each and every time - " Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset" , which for me is the most boring song she ever recorded probably LOL and "Femme Comme Chacune" which i think they could add to the very special edition of OH :ermm:

other than those 2 almost each song is a treasure and "Le Temps Qui Compte" is growing on me more and more now that i understand the meaning of it thanks to the translation :giggle: :in_love:

I see what you mean, but "Lettre de Georges Sand..." is perfect for the night, at the end of the evening. "Femme comme chacune" is not the best song but the lyrics are nice and it's good to have fresh songs for this summer. :thumbsup2:

I love "si j'etais quelq'un" ,I think it is the song of the album .A lot of high notes :D

"le temps qui compte" is Celine best untempo song

A cause II is the most climatic :)

I don't like la diva , I haven't even heard all song

My first impression is that it's a very strong album. I have to listen to all of the songs more carefully to form an opinion for each separately though.

I wish I'd understood the lyrics, will have check the translations.

I've been listening to the songs non stop the last few days, and I have to say the few songs that didn't jump out at me originally have jumped out and smacked me. I can't get enough of every single song on this album, it's an absolute masterpiece. Even La Lettre is incredible to me. Every single song is just fantastic.

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews about this album from fans. Although it's been quite a pain to get a hold of so maybe there are still ones who haven't even got it yet...

Anyway, I've upgraded On s'est aime a cause to the best song on the album.

"...comme adam et ève

de nos coeurs indulgents

The way she sings those words melts me everytime. I can't get over how gorgeous the song is. It's got to be in her best few ever french songs. I am so thankful she recorded this one. Her vocals and interpretation are absolutely to die for.
