Ooh yes!

 

If all the TC uptempo songs had better arrangements, this show would have been on fire the whole time.

But unfortunately with SOL, FA it just lacked a backing track with a great arrangement.

 

But the show, the dancers, videos, remix for IA. LOVED IT.

 

It wasn't an official remix am I right? Would loved if they used the Metro Club Mix for TTWII someday

That’s one of the performances that I would erase from her career if I could! Unfortunately, a lot of people remember it and it’s often referenced. It gives ammunition to the people who don’t want to give Celine the credibility she deserves.

The arrangements were bad. TC could have had much more energy and be arranged with a better guitar sound, they could make it sound really rock. Kind of like what Lady Gaga did with Shallow during the Grammy performance.

 

Celine could be much more creative with her arrangements in general and switch them up more often, so the songs would get new life in each new show. I think she should me more edgy and move away from that orchestral sound that she has kept since the 2011 Vegas show.

 

Agreed. I have never liked any of Mego’s arrangements of Celine’s uptempo songs. They’re completely watered down and VERY piano driven, because he had his ego to soothe and felt he needed to stand out. I would love to hear what Scott came up with for the new Vegas show, as they were no longer going to have the full orchestra and it was supposed to be full band. The TC songs on the tour needed more personality. SOL should have been a total mood, like the album version.

Just checked and it seems the runtime on PBS is 1 hour and 25 minutes. The DVD clocks in at 1 hours and 42 minutes. So, what got cut?

As Danystar just mentioned, most of the song was live but not the full thing. Besides the first concert in South Africa, she did sing the song live during promotional TV appearances in the US in late 2007.

Celine’s live performances of Taking Chances never did it for me.

 

Although, the album holds a special place for me. It feels nostalgic.

 

All of Celine’s albums are in different eras of my life. I’m sure we all feel this way.

 

I wish I could be planning a trip to Vegas to see her. Such a strange feeling.

Yeah, the whole song is live with the exception of the final chorus which contains the high note :
