Nando Férri Posted December 26, 2006 at 12:21 AM Posted December 26, 2006 at 12:21 AM All I can say is that I love her "both" kind of albuns; the english ones and the french ones, and yes, they have very different concept but I would not say the english one has less quality. By the way, I like her "french" image but I just love her "english" one with all that DIVA thing. And I prefer her SINGING in english (not the kind of music, but the language) and I would NEVER known her french songs if she wasn't that famous in english... smw Posted December 26, 2006 at 12:51 AM Posted December 26, 2006 at 12:51 AM i think that celine is doing trash ever since she came back in 2002 , so? i know most of u dont agree with me but again it's a matter of taste so what's the point? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that her English material since her return has been a joke compared to her previous albums....but 1 fille & 4 types is a phenomenal album, and I hardly agree that it's "trash". Anyway, I CANNOT wait for the two NEW Celine albums. It's exciting to think of the millions of people who will be buying her albums next year who don't spend all of their days here talking about her--they simply like her music! Quote
Mozinha Posted December 26, 2006 at 02:06 AM Posted December 26, 2006 at 02:06 AM I am absolutely THRILLED!!! Really, this is great news. I have high expectations for this album and I know I won't be disappointed. I love the title and the whole concept and I'm so damn excited! And I'm also very excited because of the release date. It's going to happen in a very import moment of my life... very stressful but very important (the marks for my first experience as a teacher and sorting the school I'll be teaching next year- believe me, this is a HUGE deal for me) and I'll be needing a this a lot. nico robin Posted December 26, 2006 at 03:28 AM Posted December 26, 2006 at 03:28 AM Besides we have the possibility of having a French acoustic album. The one she's been talking about for quite some time now and since there IS a possibility it was all recorded for such an unplugged French album there would be absolutely NO need to record a song 5 or more times just to have the perfect sound. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oh an acoustic album!!that'd be great!! Celine recorded 7 songs in 2 days... unbelieveable good job, Celine <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All I can say is that I love her "both" kind of albuns; the english ones and the french ones, and yes, they have very different concept but I would not say the english one has less quality. Céline's Blues Posted December 26, 2006 at 11:33 AM Posted December 26, 2006 at 11:33 AM You have to consider that this is her first project of a French album since 5 years! By new project I mean a new concept - not just going into a studio and recording a couple sappy songs about generic love. Even if the newly written French songs were not that good (which I highly doubt) you will definitely feel the involvement of the 12 ladies in them. You will feel the quality. That is something unusual as far as her French CDs are concerned. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Moleque20 Posted December 26, 2006 at 06:34 PM Posted December 26, 2006 at 06:34 PM i didn't mean they haven't good sales..its just that the type of music is not radio friendly except a few tracks like je sais pas, zora sourit, tout l'or des hommeswhen in english albums 90% is radio friendly.Goldman's music even with english lyrics wouldn't appeal to an american audience (for example). Nah, i dont think so Alex! Those songs are perfect for radio. There are heart-breaking ballads and uptempo songs, just like the tracks in her english albums. i dont think that BYLM is more 'ballad' that TLBSEPT. They are 100% radio friendly. Off course it wouldnt fit to the american audience, coz it is not a r'n'b trash and it is in FRENCH. PQTME was hit in UK and if Sony decide to promote her in UK again with a french song, it would become a smash hit! Quote Les étoiles tombent une à une. Mes émois sont de saturne.

IL_DINO Posted December 26, 2006 at 07:41 PM Posted December 26, 2006 at 07:41 PM A FRENCH and an ENGLISH Album while the next year - after all the years of waiting! French or English - each album had its diamonds. "D'elles" is a great title, but the association creates expectations... By the way No 1: I do not understand the discussion about "Commercial" music. Every star like Celine makes music for selling. Her french albums are the most selling French albums ever. And some of you call that no-commercial music??? And her English Albums are not only commercial. Or do you really think ballads like "I surrender" are selling well? I think, the real commercial thing of these days and years is rap, hipp- and hoppsassa... With an innovation of a packing of drying fruits... Quote

I think, the real commercial thing of these days and years is rap, hipp- and hoppsassa... With an innovation of a packing of drying fruits...<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I don't get this thing about commercial either. I mean I do understand what it means, I just don't agree with the term. All artist make music to sell it, cause that's what they live from. Why call Britney commercial and not call Bob Dylan the same, he sells his music pretty well too. Of course, Britney's song are made to be easy to listen and undestand by everybody and to be very catchy. Anyway... some artists sell music even if it's not "commercial", but because it's actually good, like Celine, like .... I don't know...Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Whitney etc etc... I'm telling you, if Elvis would have appeared now, and not in the 50s when the term "commercial music" didn't exist, he'd more dissed by the media than Celine ever was, just because he'd be so popular. It's a known thing: once you've made it really big, the media turns against you. Unless you're someone like Madonna who is who is a media product....I think the term "product" suits Madonna better than anybody else in the music world, even Britney... No offense to any fans. So...that's my opinion on "commercial". Once you sell over 50 million albums they start calling you "commercial", even though in the begining, when they were just starting, everybody said "oh you're so good". Now is this envy or what? celinedionfan Posted December 26, 2006 at 08:46 PM Posted December 26, 2006 at 08:46 PM Let's hope that this album will do it as well as D'Eux did in France 11 years ago! France adores her and I'm sure they're gonna love her new work! As for Europe it would be very interesting if they would promote the album in UK because the songs would gain popularity through all Europe!! As for Greece I hope it will get No1, though I'm sure there will not be any radio hit!!Or else it will be very very difficult!! VinnyT. Posted December 27, 2006 at 11:57 PM Author Posted December 27, 2006 at 11:57 PM I don't think Sony BMG is interested in pumping the French album outside French-speaking areas. Céline's comeback for the rest of the World will happen with the English album which will come out only few months later. Sony BMG will focus on the English album for the non-French-speaking areas. I won't be surprised if the French album won't released at all (or maybe later) in the non-French-speaking areas.
