I don't mind paying for TC at all, I'm also proud and happy to be part of it!

 

But there are also a few things that I don't like, esp. omparing to other fanclubs I know (official fanclubs of other stars, not Céline).

 

First thing is that we (at least me...) can't save those cute messages of Céline and other extras for private collection. I agree for not sharing them on other sites etc., but I would just love to have it in my private collection...

 

And the other thing:

I really regret we don't get any original autograph of Céline... it would be such a nice gesture if everry member would get an originally and personally for him dedicated photo...

 

You know, I have never seen Céline live and never met her in person... Even if she does a tour in Europe next year, I will possibly attend some concerts but I don't think I can met her anywhere to get an autographe... and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this...

 

It would be just so lovely if they could do at least this...

Anyone of you has contacts in TeamCéline?? How could we make this possible??

 

You know, many of us sent requests for an autograph to The Coloseum and only a few persons received an autograph... of course I can understand as they are suppose to get 1000 letters to Céline daily... but why can't they make it possible at least for TC members?...

Well the thing is that if everyone were to have a personally signed autograph it would be the same as her signing those 1000 that go to the Colosseum every day, right?

 

Celine is real busy, which we all know, and so are the people on her team. To keep track of which members have received an autograph and which members have not might be difficult. People renew their membership every year or so as well.

 

Then you have to keep in mind the whole idea of other non TeamCeline fans getting offensed about it.

 

One thing that I've noticed about Celine in meeting people and in general in her personality is that she is very much into EQUALITY. She doesn't like to treat anyone with a preference or with more attention than another and likes to make it known that everyone is equal. In fact, when I met her personally in December of 2004, she specifically said something about that. She wanted to make sure that we knew that evertone in that room was equal.

 

If she takes time with one fan in a room she tries to take time with all of them. If she cannot, a bodyguard generally has to step in to keep her on a time track or else, with her heart, she'd probably stay and sign 2000 autographs in a day just to make sure everyone felt equally special. When she walks into a room, she tries to put herself on your level... she tries not to be Celine Dion and to just be Celine for a few minutes and asks you not to cry "it's just me".

 

So I think there are a lot of logical reasons that autographs are hard to do.

 

If I put myself in a celebrity's shoes, autographs are always a way to make people feel special. It's a great way to say, when you're a celebrity "Hey, you know, I really appreciate what you're doing" or "Your letter really touched me" or "I feel you" or "I am with you". There's so much that you can say with an autograph and I think that maybe for someone of Celine's character and such, she wants an autograph to MEAN something to her as well as it does to a fan. I don't think Celine is the kind of person to want to get into "automatic" mode on autographs or else, sometimes, they end up losing their sentimental value. It's like with her singing. She never wants to see that singing robot. I can't imagine she'd want to have a visit from the signing one either. Haha.

buying her albums and attending her shows is not enough to call yourself a fan and get stuff (which imo the artist is OBLIGATED to OFFER) which don't cost anything to Celine , like a wallpaper or a 1min video per year or something, no you have to pay a membership lol. tbh i don't have a credit card and that's maybe why i haven't purchased a membeship (though i could ask my parents or a friend to do it for me) but i would still hate to pay for something like this. its absolutely ridiculous.

 

and that teamceline fans know the lyrics and sing along comment from Celine...

hilarious, as if the rest of the fans don't

 

if you ask ppl to pay you to say "hello" or give you an autograph or anything like that reminds me of the most ancient job in the world if you know what i mean...

it makes me sick

 

i thought her job is being a singer, that means she gets paid to sing...the rest is...

 

(and btw if someone wants to listen to her songs he can download them )

Gosh, you put a lot of heart into that! Well I agree. I thought it was $25? Anyway, it really isn't that much at all, and I love to get all those cute little extra vids and such. I like to be able to call myself a member. People should just stop moaning!

Well you know, after being there last weekend, I just was thinking about a lot of things, especially while sitting behind all of you in the red chairs of AA, BB and CC on our tour:

 

How much work it takes to coordinate just our small group of 40. How much it took to arrange that special surprise (which wasn't ALLLL my idea, by the way--a big contact or two at Feeling/CDA had hoped to be able to give a little something in appreciation of our dedication to being there for Celine--and really seem to have bent over backwards to make it possible). You know, it really does showcase how much you care and really brings up the level of appreciation when you're officially a part of the FANily of TeamCeline.

 

And then, you know, you see the reaction of the TeamCeline members (almost our entire group were members or were attending with a member) and you kind of realize how important just little things are. It makes a difference somehow, which I don't exactly understand, but it was something that you saw that night in the audience.

 

It's like Celine says. You know a difference because you see us singing, dancing, you know all the words to her songs.... and it brings a different energy to the show. It somehow just feels right!

 

 

It wasn't meant to be a rant, more just a general "I've been thinking about this" kind of a thing.

I love being part of TeamCeline...and it was even more special to meet about 40 others who were also TeamCeline memebers

 

and really...$25 is not too much to ask for a 1yr membership. And I think if you want 3 yrs it's like $50. Plus, you get discounts on your tickets and basically it pays off

 

...and then you can enter TeamCeline contests and actually have a chance for a free trip and tickets...and to meet Celine herself! Now tell me again...who wouldn't want to be part of TeamCeline?

Once again...I so agree!

 

If Celine just started signing autographs for every person that asks...tell me, how special is that? They will tell her..."Okay Celine, sign this one to :Alanna" As awesome as that would be to have a signature from Celine with my name on it...it wouldn't be too special...Celine would know nothing about me and all I would have is an autograph that Celine wouldn't remember signing because she also signed a million other names that day! Besides...I would be lucky if she would even write my name because that takes extra time...

 

So you see where I am getting at?

 

Wouldn't it be more special if you met Celine and got her autograph, that way it meant something?

 

I know many of you feel you will never ever meet her, because you live soooo far...but keep believing and one day you will! I have never met Celine, but I know one day eventually I will! And when I do...I'll probably pass out, but at least I will know the wait was worth it

I guess the main money you pay for TC membership goes not to Céline but mainly for paying the show tickets for the contest winners and especially the yearly contest winning package which can be really expansive, especially if the winner comes from outside the US.

 

Poor thing: I don't believe I wil ever win anything in TC as I'm a member for several years and haven't won anything so far...

And to be the member of the month you need to be admin of a big forum or website so you can gain people who vote for you. A simple fan has no chance to win MOTM...

 

As for the autographes, I thought about sending one dedicated photo in the "welcome kit" so not everytime you request it - just once.

You say, that Céline may wants her autographs to be special and got meaning... but you see, she is also telling us, TC members, that we are so special for her etc. - so it would be just the reason why she could give an autograph to each member.

 

I have no idea how many members are in TC but I'm sure there are not 1000 new members joining daily! So it is NOT the same as with the letters to the Colosseum...

 

And last but not least... if her autographs were so treasure things - why we can buy heaps of them on eBay???

 

The pprblem for me is only that I don't want to buy an autograph just somewhere from a third person... I would love to get it from my beloved singer personally / via mail - that's also way she cares. And singing a 5 or 6 photos per day for new TC members (if there are as many joining per day at all!) is not that big deal, even for such a busy person like Céline right?

 

And talking about being equal... well, I thought being a TC member can bring me a bit closer to Céline... you know, in other fanclubs when you write a letter to the idol, it will usually be delivered to him/her.

But when you write to Céline to The Colosseum, you not only don't get any autograph of just no reply but you may hope your letter has been seen by her... No - you send your letter to The Coloseum and you get an anwer from... Canada from the fanclub = from TC!...

 

OK, I will stop now 'cause maybe I'm just in a bad, pessimistic mood today...

 

Maybe just because since all these years (about 14 years right now) I've been dreaming of seeing Céline live and of meeting her, just for a few seconds.... but I know it will never ever come true as there are no much days left.... there are days when it makes me particularly sad.....

Celine never said that non-TeamCeline fans don't know the lyrics or sing along. What do you expect? Did you expect to hear Celine say on a "TeamCeline" video "Yes, and to all those non-TeamCeline members...thanks for your singing along and dancing...you bring a lot of energy to the show!"

 

BTW...TeamCeline is just a way to distinguish the audience. For the most part, if you are a Celine fan, dedicated..and blah blah blah, you're probably a TC member. Now I'm not saying that you're not a dedicated fan, because sure there are reasons why some of Celine's most loyal fans can't be part of TC even though they would like to with all their heart, but those fans are a small percentage (I'm sure )

 

And it's nice that there is TC because when you go see Celine in Vegas....most of the people are not really even fans...they just sit there and complain that they can't see the show with all those people standing up and dancing Those people who are dancing are primarily TC since we have reserved seats in Orch4...those are the fans Celine sees singing and dancing everyday...and she knows TC sits there...that's why in her video she refers to TC. How is she suppose to know if a non-TC member is singing and dancing?

 

But anyway...that's my opinion...no offense

i don't see any reason to distinguish the audience. if she sees someone in the audience being too excited then he's a BIG fan of hers.that's all!! it doesn't mean he's a teamceline mamber or that a teamceline member will definately dance.

i also don't see why some ppl feel "special" just because they pay

the discounts and better seats for the show are nice and logical reasons - rewards to get a membership (but since i wouldn't go to Las Vegas i don't have an economical interest to get one myself).Anyway she wants to keep her paying customers happy and its ok.but by "paying customers" she should keep in mind those who buy her cds too.now if you think that most of those who buy her cds -let's say 2 million ppl- are teamceline members then ok.but i don't think so

As far as I know, MOTM gets some goodies from the boutique or so. A package of marchandises, that's why sometimes I keep on getting posts from unknown people to vote for them...

This is rather annoying and I don't really feel like myself doing so... That's why I said you have a chance to become MOTM if you are a very known in Celinish-world and if you have a loooot of friends who are also TC members - otherwise I see no chance.

But personally I don't need to be MOTM never ever in my life if I can meet Céline instead for at least a few seconds....

 

You know, of course I would LOVE to get an autograph from her IN PERSON and get her know me (even if it were just a very few seconds....) instead of getting it mailed to me...

That's also the reason why I don't want to buy her autograph on eBay!... it doesn't have that meaning and worth to me either if I just win it in an eBay auction...

 

But... once again... meeting Céline is my biggest dream... but also the one which I can't realize, because I don't have any connections around Céline or anywhere in the showbusiness word...

I agree. I think it's amazing that Celine is able to do as much as she does with regards to meeting fans, autographs, etc. Obviously no celebrity can fulfill every fans

wish, but I think she does about as good as a job as someone can. It's amazing the amount of people she meets with and you can tell she genuinely loves it. Alot of celebrities hate dealing with fans although they seem to forget that the fans are what made them popular and a celebrity. I rememember reading about the actor Steve Martin and how he would hate being asked for autographs, so he started printing out business cards that he would give people instead of signing anything. I mean, that's sort of funny but can't you sign an autograph once in awhile!

1) Please, make it possible to meet Celine somehow!!.... I would so love to meet her but I can't afford to go to Las Vegas and just "looking for her" somewhere in Europe if she comes here for tour... it seems wired to me... I don't want to bother her in her privacy...

i do think most ppl agree with me when i say that u're asking VERY hard things from Celine.Not signing autographs and meeting each person who'd like to meet her doesn't mean she SINGS (cause that's her job) JUST for the money.

 

BUT i do think there shouldn't be this feeling (cause that's what i see from TC members and me who i am not and don't have access to TC videos) that you're PAYING for a video from celine.what's that? love selling?

 

and once we're in this appropriate thread (though i'm sure i could find more things to say) the site kinds sucks.black-red interface for CELINE DION site???whoever thought that must be a scorpio (star sign).it MUST be changed and the 1st screen has what 5 different subsites and links for english and french each?and a pop up window...how neat.1 single site where u change the language from english to french anytime with a little interface on a corner of the screen would be fine i think.oh and bring the classic Celine signature back.. the simple celinedion thingy and red-black interface may have been good for the "one heart" album but 4 years have passed since then, it should have changed long time ago,before miracle.i'm dry for now - hope someone will do something about it and thank you for reading.

Not true. I won FOM (December 2004). I was bored that month (very quiet at work) and just sent a message to anyone who was on-line asking them to vote for me. Sorry if I offended anybody, but I think TC hope that by getting us to communicate with each other in this way we might make new friends! IT DOESN'T WORK (or maybe it's just me ) I have a few TC friends, but they were friends before I asked for votes.

 

The "prize" for winning - 3 or 4 items which had ALL previously been sent out to TC members as gifts (does anyone else remember "the good old days" when they used to do this?). I would love to have received Celine's autograph in the prize. That alone would have made it worth winning, and she'd only have to sign 12 a year.

 

I'm one of those "idiots" who have bought signed items off eBay, and it makes me so mad that there are people out there who seem to be able to get an autograph at the drop of a hat, and all they want to do is make a profit out of the process.

 

I know, I know. If we all refused to buy such things there wouldn't be any profit to be made. My only excuse is I feel it's the only way I'll ever have something Celine has acutally handled (it's the closest I'll ever get, I'm sure).

 

I've also written to Celine in Las Vegas, but never had a reply - even from Canada!

And to be the member of the month you need to be admin of a big forum or website so you can gain people who vote for you. A simple fan has no chance to win MOTM...

Not true. I won FOM (December 2004). I was bored that month (very quiet at work) and just sent a message to anyone who was on-line asking them to vote for me. Sorry if I offended anybody, but I think TC hope that by getting us to communicate with each other in this way we might make new friends! IT DOESN'T WORK (or maybe it's just me ) I have a few TC friends, but they were friends before I asked for votes.

Yeah, that's probably what they're aiming at, but there really should be another way to get people to communicate on there. A lot of the time the messages I get on there can be a bit rude. I did vote for people like waaay back when I just became a member. And I like the idea of Fan of the month and all, but maybe there could be another way of choosing it? (And better prizes! )

I renewed my membership in 2005 and than I received like 2 postcard and one small bag (I don't know how to call it exactely, I use to put pencils and pens in it but it's not hard, it's from fabrics, black with white-red "www.celinedion.com" writing on it) and than i went a member again last year (I renewed my membership but AFTER the expire date of the old one) and I havrn't received anything... I felt quite sad... I would even appreciate a new membership card for free as I changed my name since I got my 1st card (I got married).

 

So as for gifts, it's really dissapointing...

 

Wow, I like the idea of an autograph for MOTM winner - that would be more worth it! But please, just change the way we can become MOTM!!

By sending gazzilions of messages to all the other members I will not make new friends - I think just in opposite: many people will feel offended and bothered and woudn't like to hear from me at all...

The one we can see on "The colour of my love" and other CDs, I just love

it and it makes the marchandise items much nicer!!!!

I just bought a shellcase for my glasses off Celine Eyes and there is this traditional signature on the outside and innerside and this item looks really neat and great!!!

I just really don't like the "One Heart"-design,,,, it has nothing special in it and it's not really "Celinish" to me....

Yeah unless you re-new your TC membership before it expires you do NOT receive a renewal gift. I find this quite ridiculous actually.

Hmm...?? I think it's just the opposite: if you want to receive a gift, you need to renew the membership before it expires!

The last time I was late with it and I renewed my membership in 2006 a few days after it has expired... and I haven't received any gift, even not a new membership card... that's quite sad...

Could you please release the "Unison" video on DVD?? I mean, the one which was released on the VHS??

 

I got this VHS but it's only NTSC and there were only one hard to find PAL version for US and no European release at all... what a pity!! :(

 

You have re-released "Live a Paris" on DVD, please, do the same with "Unison" and maybe also with "Live in Memphis" - these are great show and would be so fantastic to have them in great sound and picture quality on a DVD!!!

 

I LOVE "Unison" video and I badly want the DVD, maybe with some previously unreleased extras!!!!

But it's not about TC here, it's normal that they don't give you anything exclusive even if they should cuzz the song is out since almost a WEEK already!

It won't work. Cause according to some other topics about TC. There're many(more than enough for them to earn money) members feel TC is excellent, and have nothing to complain about it. And some even think only the title of "TeamCeline Member" itself worth more than $25/year. So I think we know why TC is like now. Cause they can get money from those fans anyway, so why they need to work harder or give more?
