Tal I love your design, it's beautiful... But I don't like Flash sites because they are not standards and need broadband connection. Most of the fans will be able to view the site but think about the handicapped people (visually or else) or people who doesn't own the high-tech connection or computer which will display the Flash! I think the Flash is a good tool but it has to be used moderately. The actual version of CelineDion.com is great, it uses Flash but not so much so that everybody can view it!

There are many suggestions here that we have already been working on ... some of your suggestions unfortunately cannot be made possible for various reasons. Regarding your question about why there was no fan news for a while and why the newsflashes were not appearing daily...we were experiencing problems with our server which did not allow automatic replications. We attempted manual replications, but even this was not working some days. It appears that everything is back up and running now...both fan news and newsflashes. Hi Celineonline.com! I would like to know if Celine is working on a new English album, and if and when the DVD is being released for A New Day. As someone mentioned earlier, I would really like a section on the site about upcoming projects and releases with release dates. I would also like a rumor control part where rumors will be confirmed or denied, so that rumors are not believed to be fact.

first of all thank you so much CELINE TEAM for listening to us, i visit the site at least evey other day and the thing i wanna say is that your site is great but every time i wanted to download a video from the multimedia section an error has occured so i dont know but i couldent get a whole video form the site till now, other thing is that every time i leave a message on site, although the messages are different i get a same reply !!!!! any way thanks again for givin us the chance to write to you. we are all abig family cos we all have the same feelin of celine. I think they should convince Celine to rerealease her old LPs to CD format.

The singles should be released worldwide too! Tous les secrets wasn't released in Holland and I believe in you neither... (Sony, please... )

 

I just love Céline!!! I like her site too, but perhaps it should be brighter coloured! The black doesn't really fit to the kind of person Céline is to me...

OK I've got a suggestion. It's more for A New Day than for celinedion.com but it's an idea non the less.

 

When I was at a basketball game last night I started thinking about all the people around us who were season ticket holders. Then I thought why can't Celine/A New Day have something similar??? Maybe AND can offer "season tickets". By season tickets I mean we are able to purchase, say...20 tickets of the same seat at one time for a discounted price and when we want to see the show we are guarenteed that seat.

 

For example: I want to buy a "season ticket" (20 individual tickets) for Orch 4 row AA seat 401. With the "season ticket" discount I pay $4,000.00 (that's $200.00 per ticket instead of the regular $225.00). When I decide I want to see the show I am required to give 6 weeks notice in order to get that seat but I AM guarenteed to get that seat, which means TicketMaster/the box office must wait until it is within 6 weeks of the show date to put the tickets up for sale to the general public.

 

500 of the 4000+ seats can be sold as "season ticket" seats, in various locations in the colosseum. And finally the "season tickets" can go on sale for the last year of the show with pre-sale priority going to TC members.

 

This would benifit AND because people would be pre-paying for 20 tickets and it would be up to the person to use those 20 tickets within that year. If the tickets are not used within the year then the purchaser is out and they will not be refunded.

 

 

I think that there are so many of us that have seen the show multiple times and several of us who see it multiple times in a single trip so it would be a benifit to us to be assured we will be able to see it and sit in the seat we want each time we are there.

 

It's just an idea..............

How about a back stage webcam!

 

George Lucas did it for the entire production (and post) of "Revenge of the Sith."

It would be soo cool to see live happenings behind the scenes. For those that can never make the show in Vegas, they would love it!

 

CelineDion.com needs a major overhaul.  You look at artists like Madonna, and their entire website changes everytime a new album comes out.  Its an investment of time and money, but I think with Celine in Vegas having less time to promote her projects, the website could be a really great promotion tool.  And at the moment I think it is definitely not being used to its full advantage.

 

I'm a web/graphic designer and I would LOVE to get my hands on this site and completely re-do it.  Here are some of the changes I would make:

 

1.  Site Navigation:  Currently Celine's site is split up into several different sub-webs.  Its unnecessarily complicated and confusing to the user.  If you want to see pictures of A New Day, you have to go into the A New Day sub web and into the gallery.  Then if you want to see regular Celine pictures you have to navigate out of there and into the gallery of the Celine sub-web.  I think its a little convoluted.  I would get rid of the entire idea of sub-webs with the exception of the Boutique which should a link on the main navigation of the site and open into a new window.

 

2.  Graphic Design:  Celine is a singer and whats great about that in terms of the web is that your site can be as slick, edgy, and cool as you want.  Design-wise there aren't the same restrictions you have like when you make a site for a bank.  That being said Celine's site is dull....it doesn't pop, or catch the eye, or make you want to explore.  And as part of Celine's management team you want a website that draws people in and makes them want to click around.  That promotes interest and interest promotes sales.  I think graphically, the site should reflect Celine's clean and elegant style, while still being technologically competative with other artists sites.

 

3.  Music:  There were two things that really suprised me about the site.  First was the lack of consideration of her early career.  Maybe it has something to do with Sony (or some legal issue), but how are all of her early albums, singles and videos completely ignored by her own official website?  The second thing that suprised me was the quality and length of her music videos.  They're tiny and only 30 second clips!  If I want to see a full Celine video, the first place I would guess to check is her official site.  Maybe its an issue of rights or ownership but I doubt it.  I would love to see all her music videos being Flash 8 encoded, full length, and at a higher resolution.  Also it would be nice to see all her French lyrics translated into English and vice versa.  I know its a big undertaking but this is the official site and it would be a lovely feature to offer fans.

 

These are just a few things I'd like to see changed.  There are still a million more in my head and I don't want to make this post any longer then it is.  And I'm not going to even get started on Team Celine....thats a whole other cow.

 

An artists' official website should be the ultimate source for information, pictures, multimedia, etc and in Celine's case its not.  Also, Celine is one of the top selling artists of all time and I don't think her site reflects that.

 

Like I said before...I'm a web/graphic designer and I actually started on a re-design of Celine's official site.  I'd like to emphasize that its not anywhere near being done.  There are only a few active links, there are definitely bugs, I need to create loading pages, and other things here and there.

Reading the discussion about Sony and the choice of the singles, I was thinking it could be a great thing if our friend at Celinedion.com opens a poll on the official website to let fan choose the single (after the first one, that should be chosen by Céline and Sony, indeed) next time Céline will release an album.
