I really hope that our Celine has the best 50-per-cent... First I hope and pray for her health and that the rest takes all the time she needed for even reborn. All other things can be over-passed when you think in your help.

Here's another informative article, quoting a neurologist from the Ottawa hospital that pioneered that stem cell transplant treatment (and the patient in question is also quoted). Since then, they say these treatments have had a 50-50 success rate.

50% isn’t bad odds for something with such little research and funds. I have faith in Celine she’s always beaten the odds in her life! I hope her spotlight continues to bring breakthroughs for this terrible illness.

My thoughts still drift to Celine each day. I was reading that 80% of autoimmune disease sufferers in the USA females (afab), and that they may be determined by genetics, but anyone can have one.

 

I sincerely hope that, in addition to her other treatments, Celine is working with a plant-based nutritionist to find the healthiest, low inflammation diet. Too few doctors know about the research or advocate to their patients on that side of things. I believe Toni Braxton has gone plant-based and it has helped her lupus. There's a good amount of research showing it can help a great deal.

I agree with you that Celine should work with a plant based nutritionist to find the best diet for her so she can live a happy life.

There must be so many projects she planned that she now can’t participate in.

 

I can’t quite tell whether the sadness in her messages last week is due to frustration and her feeling guilty about cancelling/ postponing and disappointing people again, or whether it’s fear about what she’s imagining in her future and sadness about future projects she won’t be able to realize. The Québécois journalists I’ve heard interviewed, who spent time with her and know her well, think it’s the latter, that they’ve never seen her this scared. I so hope she’s managing to stay positive and not spiraling into depression. Hope all the love she’s received since last week is helping.

I am so confused right now.

 

Céline is part of my life for almost 30 years ( almost my whole life) and I can't wrap my mind around it, because even when she was off , she was not : there was always something about Céline.

 

But now...is that it?

 

It might come across as selfish but of course, I'm sad for her , she is young but she seems so sad and isolated and sick.

 

It's like everything will fade away somehow.

 

Like some said, I've been having a hard time listening to her lately knowing that it might be over.

 

( I know it's dramatic and in some way, the last 2 years were a training).

I find her music more soothing than ever. It’s like a calming affect. A lot of the songs also feel like they have a new meaning.

I think she purposely stayed busy to not cope with her grief, when covid forced her to slow down… I think it gave her time to process things and that’s not always good for everybody in every situation. I would imagine that the covid pause made her feel lonely, like most us did… on top of being all that time without staying busy for the first time in life without Rene, without her mom.

I’m of the mindset of think positive. She has surprised us so many times and I don’t think this situation will be any different. It may be hard but she is Celine Dion. I’m not in denial of the situation at all, but she has the best people and from reading and seeing videos on other cases, there is hope… there really is.

Hello everyone,

 

I haven't been able to post here since I heard the news. I was at the gym when I watched the video on her IG and I bursted into tears right there... However I didn't realize how much it has affected me.

 

I've been watching videos of her this afternoon, experiencing her in a new way... I've especially whatched her interactions with fans: Je t'aime encore (2016), the encores of her 2017 tour (Love of my Life and PQTME), Immortality in Vegas... Seeing her surronded by her fans, how much energy she takes from them and give them back... And then I watched the video of last week, and how much she feels when she says she cannot wait to be with us again... Heartbreaking.

 

I love her, I'll always do. If that's it, that's it. I'll still be here, supporting here. If she comes back... We'll go whetever it's needed.

 

At the same time, it's great to see all of you here. She's the reason we have been connected so I thank you for all the times we've shared here. There will be more to come. I'm absolutely convinced she'll be back.

We won't ever know the true trigger(s). She did look very happy in nature in Montreal, quite rested too. That said, the pandemic was tough on many, and also there is the "her grief manifested itself" theory. She might have been stressing about certain things. But let's not forget that this usually starts showing up in ages 40s or 50s. So it could simply be that this was the time the biological clock had set, so to speak.

It's probably because she had to slow down that they could really diagnose it.. imagine every time before when it happened, it would be attributed to stress, or recovery from yesterday's show, or exhaustion from flights, or a million other things she has going on.. but realizing it was still happening during the rest time probably helped her and the team to discover there was an underlying problem.

That's not uncommon, many people get sick when they start holidays. When you are busy and stressed you keep going, maybe the adrenaline or something, it's when you are relaxed that you might show bigger symptoms. And I don't really think SPS is really related to stress anyway, it must be more some kind of genetic illness. Just speculating, but listening to the doctor from the video I am a bit more hopeful now.
