Really so sad to hear this news. Obviously, as a fan I knew something was up with her for a while now. I am wishing her all the best and I hope she can heal from this. I am sure she is in good hands as she says herself she has great doctors etc. it is a good sign she is not actually cancelling the tours, just rescheduling. And we will all be there to support her if it so happens she can perform for us again. I am sorry for the pain , both physically and mentally she is and has been surely going through. Sending thoughts, prayers and love to our beloved Celine ❤️ 💕 Edited by takeachance

The way she looks up to her left when she says she hasn't been able to sing "in the way that she's used to" is kinda interesting / revealing body language ... says to me that this is *really bad* ... it's kind of a signal that what someone is saying is in some ways an understatement.

All day I have not been able to stop thinking about Celine. It almost feels unreal.

Can't imagine how she's been feeling all these months.

Davey, I had the same feelings this morning. I was worthless at work. I kept thinking of Céline and how she's been there with me for every good and bad moment of my life. Hell, I learned French because of her and opening those doors really changed my life.

Today has been such a weird day, a sad day, almost like dumbfounded day if that makes sense. I keep finding myself here on this forum just to check for updates even tho we know what we know and there won’t be anything else for a very long time if at all.

I’ve seen Celine perform live many times, the last time being for her courage tour here in the United States, I remember clearly stating on this forum how conflicted I was by even purchasing tickets for that show a couple years ago. I remember thinking “oh Celine is basically doing the same show as Vegas, do I want to pay this go again.” Well I went, still not knowing if it was worth it again…. It was a great show as usual when your their in person it doesn’t matter what she sings, she transports you with her one of lifetime talent. I’m so happy I went, I have videos and pictures on my phone… and as painful as it to say… without being negative but realistic, I had the opportunity to be at one of her last shows.

As corny as it is say, I think we all are blessed and lucky have been on this earth in the same era as CÈLINE DION.

It's like a clock has stopped ticking. For 20 years, Celine's career has been like this long calendar. There's always something to look forward to even if it's far away. Knowing that a new album, song, or performance is on the horizon. And I never realized how much meaning that gave my life until today.

This is a more articulate and objective interview with a neuroscientist from CBC news :

There are reasons to be optimistic and it really depend on how Céline responds to the treatments

I continue to turn things over in my head and as said somewhere here the one silver lining to take from all this is the awareness that Celine has brought and can continue to bring to SPS.

I've seen fans mention sending video messages to Celine but could we also do something like a gofundme to donate in dedication of Celine to a hospital/medical center for the purpose of SPS research or helping its patients?

Like, the Ice Bucket Challenge + the IACBTMN/Céline Dion Challenge?

So like everyone,

I am saddened by this. But I also thought back to some of her performances and noticed it right away and it started clicking for how long she had been dealing with this. And I would say it started was pretty obvious during the steve harvey new years eve show when she was suffering from back stiffness and back pain,

me too. The worst scenario may entail her on losing her voice. But honestly now, I don't really care. As long as she is safe and sound, she can be a host of her own talking show or something. The world hasn't seen much of her witty and hilarious side.

Sigh that really says it. My life has moved around this woman for a very long time. Every big thing revolved around her because it was inevitably a CD or concert motivated me to get over any hurdle, from my year end exams at 10, to my damn PhD 25 years later. Every little thing revolved around her, be it jazzing up a ride on the bus or underscoring a walk on a beautiful day. Every high point was celebrated with her… every low point soothed by her voice and nostalgia of the time spent with her.

It feels so dumb and almost selfish to take this so personally but for God’s sake, this woman really let us into her life and accordingly she’s become such a crucial part of mine. I feel for her the way I would for family or really close friend.

Yeah, she didn't look well at all. You can tell she's on a lot of medications 😕

Yes!! I totally understand where you're coming from! Sometimes I wonder if Céline actually realizes how much effect she has (had) on people's life. She's such a huge part of my life for 26 years now! And like you said all important moments are celebrated with her... I got married in August and we played Partout Je Te Vois and The Colour Of My Love during the ceremony and our first dance was on On S'Est Aimé À Cause. :wub2:

Same, I didn't thought it would make me feel like this.

But like others have said, she has been part of our lives for so long. Sometimes more present than the other, but there was always something to look forward to.

Lucky we can see and hear her soon in that movie. But most of all, I hope that she will find a way to live with this, and hopefully a long time without pain and all.

How about we set it to Courage? Flash each short video for about two beats each.. everyone holding up a sign with a few words of encouragement or something of the like.

I wonder if she feels some relief now by just letting the news out. That feels freeing just letting people know. She probably didn't want all the 'oh poor Celine' reactions. Y'all know what I'm trying to say?

Yes, I also think this is a burden off her shoulder. Keeping fans in the dark only added extra pressure. Now all of us are on the same page, so even spiritually we can focus on the same thing. Another good aspect of speaking out is the outpouring of love she received. I believe all of this contributes to a better emotional well-being, which is very important during this battle.
