chemotherapy? I highly doubt Celine would consider such agressive treatment considering it might leads to rapid and complete alopecia that can be either prolonged or even permanent.

Yeah, I don't think she cares about her hair honestly. She usually wears her hair in the most low maintenance way possible, she's not like Mariah haha. Hair for her is a performance thing, she either styles it or wears a wig but either way it's not for her, it's for us.

Celine does not care much about her looks to begin with. She has chosen not to have any cosmetic surgery. All too often she walks publicly without any make-up on and her hair tied in an easy bun. Even at the end of the 'Imperfections' music video she is shown without make up on. Further to this, in interviews she has made jokes about her breasts, teeth and lips. Is the mortality from this treatment caused by infections / viruses attacks when the immune system is gone? Maybe ordinary people probably have to go back home where they are at constant risk of getting infected. If yes, I'd think Celine is at lower risk as she can definitely afford to stay in a protected hospital environment for as long as needed.

It's shocking to me how quickly Celine's health deteriorated. Probably the fact that covid trapped her at home led to sadness, depression, grief and stress taking over her.

I hope that at least Celine Dion will be able to record in the studio again and enjoy the well-deserved peace.

I agree. The emotional suffering and stress she has experienced following so many deaths should not be underestimated. The emotional well-being always impacts autoimmune diseases. I do hope that Celine is working with a therapist to ensure she has proper support to navigate through trauma. I really hope she understands that is OK to feel broken and vulnerable and that she does not have to come off as a Superwoman at all times, work hard, never rest, and try to please everyone. I think receiving this type of professional support and embracing her vulnerable side will do wonders for the physical aspects of her treatment.

I would assume it's a mixture of genetics and circumstance, but some form of autoimmune condition is relatively common. 1 in 15 people in the USA, according to a search I did.

 

As people said above, therapy is a very useful tool. I also really hope she is working with a good nutritionist. A lot can be achieved through a top-notch plant-based diet, esp. to help the immune system. Knowing Celine, she would leave no stone unturned...but the fan in me is just crossing my fingers and toes.

It's so weird looking back on this. It's like this Vegas residency never happened! I mean of course it didn't happen, because of COVID and Céline getting sick. But we never saw concepts for the stage, a rumoured setlist, merchandise.... we only had the announcement (video and photo) and a few interviews and it is basically erased from my memory of Céline during Covid times.

 

It's so freaking sad to think Céline was about to reclaim her stage 6 months after this interview... but here we are almost 2 years later, completely in the dark of what the future will hold. It's all so unfair.

SPS can be really lightning-fast. I found this lady on YouTube, very interesting to watch. She did a video about Celine btw, and by coincidence, her boyfriend name is Dion...

 

So for her, only one month after the first symptom, she already felt really bad and was basically disabled... one month...

 

She also had stem cells transplant or whatever that experimental treatment is called a year ago. While she's somewhat better, she's still on all those drugs (though with lower dosages), and it seems her movement is still limited.
