It's expensive for sure, but for one-of-a-kind recordings from Celine the price totally makes sense to me. There are hundreds of baseball cards on eBay that make the price of that recording look like allowance money.

I believe it was for promotion only and it was only a small video not a real music video. It was filmed when IYA was filmed and used for a TV promo for TAST album in late 1998.

Yes maybe it was only a promo video, but it could also be a real video ( they said he filmed 5 music videos for Celine (including IYA, TATST).

Lamont dozier is a Rock and roll hall of fame singer songwriter. Please look at his bio after reading this auction information. I will be listing other items from his collection in the coming days, including Gold records and instruments as well. This auction is for two Original Master and Slave tape recordings of unreleased Celine Dion songs, from Lamont Dozier. Perfect for any collector, and no one else has them, they are one of a kind, there is no recording date on them, but other tapes that were in the same box were recorded in 1997, so I am guessing these are from that time frame as well. The auction ended. I wonder if anyone got to buy these tapes.

 

I am never sure how selling such master tapes from unreleased songs can be legal. I mean, there were certainly contracts written as to who has the rights for the music and the vocals. Or maybe these contracts are only written and valid when they decide to officially release a song? It appears to be that way, because otherwise random people would not just sell unreleased tapes, right? Maybe Sony only has the rights to songs that are official releases, and not rejects, or maybe these rights vanquish after 20 years if not released.
