Seeing a lot of comments of different topics about how bad Team Céline is I thought of making one topic for you to gather everyone's thoughts

But I hope we can make this a very productive topic that Team Celine can actually utilize & see our productive suggestions.

 

We all know where we think things could’ve been dealt with differently but that’s not a useful conversation and will prevent them from taking us seriously.

 

There are many fans here with wonderful ideas. And many of these ideas are totally doable.

 

I might even suggest changing the topic name to something a bit less accusatory and make it more productive & positive.

 

Dwelling on what could’ve been done differently just doesn’t seem very fruitful vs suggesting ideas for Celine’s career / image / promo / projects from this point forward.

Perfect recent example why her team sucks:

FIY is celebrating its 25th anniversary, Phil Spector died and told his daughter to sell everything ASAP. Now this would be the perfect chance for Sony to buy these master tapes and put out a huge anniversary box of Celines most successful album with these unreleased songs, some demos, instrumentals ,a CD of the live concert and some DVDs with everything from that era. But all they do is remaster her old videoclips, which should be done anyway without a special occasion. This is just sad. Everyone interested in her career would buy such a release, especially now during covid when nothing is going on. Why is Sony so indifferent? I just don't get it

SONY is lazy and enjoy milking the same cash cow even tho, the milk has become Sour because of no creativity.

 

And team Celine is clueless.... almost anyone on this forum could probably do a better job.

1. Audit her YouTube videos. Fix the geoblocking that is incorrect. As it stands right now, there are still many videos illogically blocked in the United States.

 

2. Upload official audio and music videos of her entire early French work to YouTube.

 

3. Upload all official remixes to her streaming platforms.

 

4. Upload the official music videos for “Because You Loved Me,” “My Heart Will Go On, “Beauty And The Beast” and “Live (For The One I Love)” to her YouTube page.

 

5. Continue uploading the rest of her album tracks in official audio form to YouTube: “All The Way,” “The Reason,” “Je t’aime encore,” “Ain’t Gonna Look The Other Way,” “A New Day Has Come (Album Version)” and “The Power Of The Dream,” for example.

 

6. Upload rarer official audio to her page. Songs such as: “Love You Blind,” “Cry Just A Little,” “Listen To The Magic Man” and “Send Me A Lover,” for example.

 

7. Upload official rehearsal footage and cut songs from her tours and concerts. “Love Is All We Need” from “A New Day...” and “Can’t Fight The Feelin’” from the “Taking Chances World Tour” comes to mind.

 

8. Create “The Collector’s Series - Volume Two.”

 

9. Go through Celine’s entire catalogue, and ask her to write a short paragraph about her thoughts and memories regarding each song. These paragraphs would then be uploaded to her social media pages frequently.

 

10. Create merchandise with a more unique vibe. T-shirts and posters are fine for the casual fans, but there should be a few unique items for the hardcore fans, too.

Practical suggestions for the future go a long way, but also I am sure we all have ideas about the past that we wish we could go back and change.

I noticed one thing, Céline now only sings the songs from 90s, there are barely any song from 2000s or 2010s only I'm Alive(I am talking about the English repertoire)

I was hoping that she would sing Goodbye's the Saddest Word as a tribute to her mum, but instead she sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow which is basically not even her own song. I don't know if there was any connection of her mum with SOTR or Céline had a connection with it. But I think TC are gradually removing her own songs from the setlist.

And she lip-sync her own songs whereas she never(in my opinion, correct me if i am wrong) lip-sync the covers. And its time that she removes Your The Voice and Kiss from the picture and instead use other songs. Instead of Your The Voice she could use I drove all night. And instead of Kiss she could use FOMO. I know she cannot bring "non-famous" songs of her career to stage but she can sing all her most famous songs in stage...its not impossible. I mean, she has the same setlist of songs since 2017 all songs are practically the same, some like LCMM have gotten higher rank in setlist and some like Your The Voice is continuously here since 2018. Come on TC bring something new.

And then she says she is proud of Courage World Tour. I am too but, its the same what is to be proud of? Her Fashion?

Some of you blame her team for things that, honestly, it's Celine’s fault. I mean, stuff like "setlist" has to be Celine's decision. If it's not, more reason to blame her. At this point she should have control over her career. Every artist from her time have artistic freedom on the industry to do whatever they feel like it. A lot of artists that came after her already have control, some as recent as Taylor Swift.

From the way you guys talk, it looks like Celine it's just a puppet, being manipulate by her team and label, with no will at all.

 

I rather think Celine just like things the way they are and it's just kinda lazy to try something new, then to think she's just a product of marketing, with no artistic substance at all.

   Fix improperly titled Youtube videos on her official channel----yes some are literally with the incorrect songs, or there are typos/unnecessary language in the title.

   Actually respond to very popular Twitter/Instagram/Facebook posts by other celebrities or posts that go viral. Acknowledge the moments that you go viral. Celine had a moment posted with that fan singing her "I Surrender" in NYC and her reaction went viral and got like 20+ million views on the video alone, not to mention the likes of celebs like Ariana who posted it.

   Actually use the "live" feature on Instagram or Facebook to have Celine sing something and post it online. Or, go to a very safe, socially-distanced, everyone-tested location with just her band or just Scott and record some performances!

   Upload all of her official music videos to her channel. Ad upload clips of her live specials that they don't otherwise plan to release. Winter Garden, 1993 Tour Concert with ICHFIL, Live in Memphis, Au Coeur du Stade. Why don't we have any official tour videos from 1992-1993? Why isn't Sur Les Plaines on Youtube?

   Do album promo better. Go on ALL the big TV shows and late night shows. Go on newer media outlets and digital publications, do famous Youtube show promos like Elle Magazine Word Association or NPR Tiny Desk. LMBTL and Couage had very bad promo, even though LMBTL was complicated bc Rene was sick.

   Do big anniversary posts/promo better. We are still waiting with Falling Into You, but they could have uploaded Live a Memphis full or Celine could perform a live/unplugged version of some of the songs right now in 2021 and upload it.

   If you give us the behind-the-scenes of an album, let us actually hear the raw footage and recording process, rather than see the song dubbed over footage of Celine in the production side of the studio--want to hear her while she's at the actual recording equipment.

• Release a recent tour DVD as the #SayYes campaign is asking for.
  
• A Rarities album of unreleased material---possibly with Phil Spector songs.
  
• Do an unplugged concert, special, or CD/DVD.
  
• In her tour setlists, they could stop putting as many covers, stop lipping certain songs, and include rarer or less-performed songs fans want to hear.
  
• Embrace the Celinassance vibe more and keep it going.
  
• Give teasers of upcoming projects rather than keeping us in the dark.
  
• Fire the team who stops all this from happening.

I don't know if her team would ever try to resurrect the Courage album... since it made the headlines as the fasting dropping #1 Billboard album of all time. Unfortunately, any future articles written about the Courage album would probably include that information. And it's such a shame, because Team Celine could've prevented it from falling so drastically with just a bit more strategy / promo after its release. Celine getting sick was no excuse. Regardless, I'm still thrilled that she has another #1 under her belt!

 

But I still think it would be wonderful if -- when they relaunch the Courage tour -- they re-release the album with some bonus tracks.

The bonus edition of the album could include:

 

-Ashes

-Wicked Game (with Chris Isaak) -- this cover is absolutely fantastic and it should get WAY more attention than it has gotten so far

the problem was that they did everything backwards. She was promoting the album and the tour many months before the album was even released and there was huge anticipation. Then the album was released and she had 2 tv appearances in it’s release week, then the thanksgiving parade. And that was it. No wonder the album had such a short life. The promotion after it’s release was just ridiculous.
