There's a Zoom meeting scheduled for tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, 24 January, 2:00 PM ET) to discuss our plan. We have to keep it organized and brief - because we'll only have 40 minutes. If you want a link, DM me here or on Instagram (@jmpl_aaren).

We need to arrive at an agreement on:

1) hashtag

2) banner/poster

3) launch date

We need to:

• Compile a list of any close contacts with Céline's team, Sony reps in various countries, and social media influencers/groups/clubs, etc.

• Delegate who is going to contact those individuals.

• Draft a polite written message that can be emailed along with the flyer.

If you have any such information or want to help otherwise, please let me know! Thanks!

I'm now following you on IG

First of all, if there is any show that could be omitted it is the Hyde Park because it's basically almost a Courage rehearsal setlist, it's not that interesting visually etc... BUT because of the audience, the atmosphere and its exposure, it would be nice to have it (especially that we know a dvd already exists).

On the other hand, Las Vegas residency CANNOT be omitted because it's been very important and LONG period in Celine's career.

If I could add to your discussion and how to present it, I agree the poster itself could include fewer options. So Shaun, according to my idea, there would be 5 posters out of 7 from your design. And 5 is Celine's number so we could use it somehow too... For example, "Celine" 2011-2019 as one, no Courage Tour at all as it is too earl to say it will not continue...

BUT as I had said before it is essential to include a very detailed description of all these possible releases. There we could mention that for "Celine" we would expect two dvds with the first cover version and the revamped 2015 version - they are totally different and important in their own way. The third installment is not needed because they copied and pasted the Asian tour, so no need to mention this.

For Tour 2017, we could also specify that both French and English setlist would interest us.

Live 2018 should be there, it's easy to release (if they take Tokyo), it's a relatively new setlist and would certainly interest Asia/Australia areas

And as I mentioned before not only should we say how we envision these releases (how many discs, which setlists - the songs should all be specified to show the differences) but also justify them with giving real reasons (as many as possible for each release)

example:

"Celine"

  • second residency (with record-breaking 1000th show etc.)
  • Number of shows, of spectators
  • outline how "A New Day" DVD was record-breaking DVD release and this could only follow into its footstep
  • classy orchestral idea
  • enlist songs that are nowhere to be found on any releases Bond medley, Jackson medley, acoustic medley, etc.
  • great moments (1000th show), hard moments (first show after Rene's death)
  • longevity and Las Vegas heritage
  • ...

Live 2016

  • emotional, most creative, most daring tour ever
  • no costume change
  • enlist rare songs (for example in the release part full setlist and here in justification part full reason Ne bouge pas - never performed live, acoustic medley version)
  • sold-out shows
  • tribute to Rene
  • fans support
  • ....

Live 2017

  • first English Tour since TC, first French tour in cities other than Paris
  • it would interest not only one country as it took place in various places
  • particular rarely performed songs (TCOML, Zora Sourit, etc.)
  • Celine's comeback to the stadiums
  • creative Le Ballet dance
  • PQTME acoustic with whole stadiums singing
  • concerts recorded in Paris and in London for sure
  • ...

And so on... It's a really fast written and maybe not well put but just to give you an idea. A poster is not enough and saying that we want this or that is not entirely polite and best way to do this. We should be more professional than they are and outline the significance of each release so that they could see their potential and decide. When they see only "demands" it will end up with nothing. For some of you it might sound too long but only giving all the details could change anything.

It's a shame that you haven't said anything earlier about the meeting because I have access to ZOOM with no limitations (neither of participants nor time). So let me know if for future meeting(s) you would like to have a longer meeting. I think we shouldn't be rushing through this either. We have to present it as a very serious action.

Tried to simplify the previous design. I think we really need to narrow down options before trying to get backing on social media though. If we can get so many people behind and campaigning for just one of the shows then it may be more successful?

Sorry but the visuals and the crowd reaction on Hyde Park needs to be immortalized on DVD also.

IMO the Hyde Park show it's a must have!

Celine Live in Las Vegas (all the best);

Celine Dion Live in Europe 2016-2017;

Celine Dion Live at the Hyde Park.

This must be on DVD. Absolutely beautiful! This concert was a pleasant surprise for me. I remember thinking about going to London to see Celine. I decided not to go because I thought it would be a copy of the Vegas show. When I saw the videos, her voice, the wardrobe and the public's reaction, I immediately regretted not going to see it live. Flawless!!!

Why does the first and second refrain in FOMO (basically all the lipped parts in the song) sound like she was talking on the phone? It's very striking that these parts are from a backing track

I think we shouldn't include options that are already been made available. We all have seen the Tokyo show and know where to find it if needed again.

Yes the general audience doesn't know about it, but this time it's about us. The fans that spend the most, and actually care for a new 'dvd'

We already have to stick with the same old songs in the setlist just because of the general audience.

So give us something truly special.

You nailed a lot of key points in your post. While we are trying to roll this out ASAP, I think most of us realize it's a "long haul" kind of situation. Kristinaz pointed out a few great examples of other fanbase campaigns successfully lobbying to the artist's management, and even if we get 'No' once, twice, three times, there is still a chance if we are persistent. (Maybe we should push 5 times, for Céline's lucky number :sofunny:)

The poster will not be enough. An email will not be enough. No one thing will be enough... but if we use several approaches over the long-term we will get some traction.

We do need to have a more detailed (but not overbearing) outline for them to follow, because we know if we say "release ANYTHING" we will get garbage. Here's a great video made by MJ fans -- which, if we made something similar, we could say specifically Vegas 2011/2015/2017/2019, Montreal 2016, Paris 2017, London 2017, etc. See, there are many ways we can be creative and get our message out there, BUT we have to be on the same page and not take 'No' for an answer. KEYWORD: persistence!

Hyde Park would be the perfect release for the masses.

The other shows would be great for us hardcore fans.

Oeh yes

We all hope that maybe 1 day they will release this or that. But looking at the fanmade request for the Michael Jackson tour I'm afraid that even Celine's shows will never see the light of day.

Michael has bigger impact worldwide, and even his estate is lacking releases etc.

It's now or never with Céline and her team.

As an MJ fan I can tell you the estate has heard us but at the moment they are tied up with lawsuits and cannot release anything due to it I don't know the full details as to why but this is what they have said. They had planned on doing an official release of the History Tour but that was derailed last year. Unfortunately with estates it's not as easy to get things released. I know Prince's estate is also having issues getting releases. Another reason I don't see a point in her keeping these for later on IMO just based off my own experience.

Mirage this is not directed at you just so you know but this is a general statement:

I am having a bit of a rough day so I may seem a bit angrier then normal but I am not angry I am just a bit frustrated because literally the lot of us have tried for a few years now to get more fans on board and each time you guys come back with pure negativity I don't think I have come across another fan base that is so damn negative.

I have said it multiple times but I will say it again what do we have to lose if we just try? If we don't IMO I will always ask myself what if. So that's my two cents. And at this rate I think it's best to allow them the option of choosing which they want because if we are too specific they may come back to us with excuses as to why they cannot release that specific one. IMO if we give them multiple options they should be able to release atleast one.

As for the Tokyo show I have said this multiple times but I will repeat myself outside of this forum most fans I have talked to have never seen the Tokyo show and sorry to say I know plenty of people who would be more then willing to buy the 2019 Vegas show regardless of the Vegas show and with that one atleast we know for a fact it was professionally recorded hence why we have left it in there as an option.

I hate to sound cruel but I am kind of tired of people being like "well I don't want it if it's this show or that show" like honestly if you don't like it tough but there are plenty of us who are desperate for something new. I am sick and tired of the same re-releases from 20 years ago when I have more then enough proof that they have tons of footage from the past 4-5 years to give us something new even if it's just a documentary. We are essentially allowing them to believe there is no interest because nobody here is pushing back.

I think you guys should do it if you feel you really have to do. It just seems as if there are maybe 20 people interested in fighting for this. I hope on the Zoom call, you’re able to create a plan to reach out to other Celine fan communities. I think the red heads would be the biggest one you’d need to get on board.

I get it,but the Tokyo show isn't 'getting something new'

It's out there and if people want to see it, they can.

Vegas 2011-2015

Live 2016

Hyde Park

Are bigger phenomenal moments in her career, than the final show of Vegas that doesn't even showcase what her Vegas shows were meant to be in the beginning.

And about that negativity, yes there have been ideas in the past to gather fans for this or that. And in the end it never worked out, or there were not many fans responding. So I get it that some think 'here we go again'

Though this time it looks more professional and serious so we have to go through with it.

But the plan needs to be good and solid will it work.

Unfortunately the celine fanbase isn't that active and big on socials and Twitter.

There is a huge difference like fans of Mariah, Ariana, Gaga, Taylor etc.

Her team is also to blame for that, there is huge gap connection wise between the fans and her team.

I agree her team is to blame because I think we could have been much tighter and waay more active on social media had they themselves given us more to work with. I see people like Ariana and Mariah and Taylor who actually talk to their fans like their posts etc I don't see Celine doing that at all. Brian May and Roger Taylor(and even Adam) from Queen now we're talking about a band that is old school and legends you'd think well they don't need to interact with fans they have millions but nope during lockdown everyday they would interact with us. Everyday they would post snippets of them jamming even through zoom it kept us connected. Celine and I do love this woman with all I have has been giving us pictures of her and trees long term that won't keep your fan base engaged.

I can tell you having just been given the low down on the zoom chat (wasn't there due to scheduling conflicts) that this time this campaign is larger and will be broken down by phases and will be much more well organized. Chantemoi will be posting a longer outline shortly.

As for Tokyo... I hated Tokyo was pissed the final shows would be like the Tokyo show but I wanted to see the final shows. Initially when I learned they would be filming I went to the Colosseum and decided to chat up some fans while waiting to get in. They were excited that the show was being filmed I asked them did you see the Tokyo show? They said the what? I said the mini tour it's available online and it aired on Japanese tv and they told me no but we would have watched it if we knew where to find it. So really I do believe people who are not on this board would most likely not know about it. Atleast the ones who are not die hard fans like us. Anyways I watched the show and I actually liked the filming and the angles and everything even the vocals way better then on the Tokyo filming. I'll put it this way MJ recorded 4-5 shows from the same tour and you'd think well why release them this isn't new it's the same show essentially why would fans want the same show 4 times over? But actually as a long time fan I find even with the same setlist some shows are better then others. Better sound mix better angles better energy and all that combined is what makes a huge difference. Seen the same with Queen and their Magic Tour in 86. But of course this is my opinion and as I said we know they recorded the 2019 shows for 4 nights straight so atleast that is one show they cannot come back to us and say "well we can't release it as we didn't record it professionally"

Most of the times those are the kind of fans who think she still sings everything live.

Who tell you at the end of the show they didn't knew she sang in French. :sofunny:

Or they complain that she talked in French.

It's those fans that the setlist is based on.

Now it's time for the gems in her career for the ones who actually give a s***. :)

I went to the Colosseum and decided to chat up some fans while waiting to get in. They were excited that the show was being filmed I asked them did you see the Tokyo show? They said the what? I said the mini tour it's available online and it aired on Japanese tv and they told me no but we would have watched it if we knew where to find it.

Yes, we have to be versatile when it comes to promoting and approaching people.

As for the content, this is my better and more detailed take on Live 2016 which could be further developed and serve as a pattern for other shows.

This tour marks the most difficult part in Celine’s career : first tour without her husband and manager Rene Angelil. It was the most challenging and demanding tour for Celine and yet the most personal, creative, profound, touching and meaningful. It included various rarely or never performed songs. Both the big hits and more rare songs have obtained a deeper meaning: all of them were sung to, for and with Rene. Fans from all over the world came to support Celine at every moment cheering her and singing along her giving their best. It was a commercial and personal success that deserves to be remembered and cherished by fans around the globe.

Exceptional work! This is a great template that we can use for a variety of purposes. The YouTube channel we're creating will be one of our primary tools for sharing some of these ideas. We'll make videos that contain clips of these songs and the text can convey their significance in Céline's career/artistic canon, as well as their significance to the fans.

If you don't mind, I would love to see what you came up with for all the versions of Vegas residence, the 2017 Tour, and Hyde Park, too!

Before I forget: I have to credit Kristinaz for doing some really intensive research about the pro footage exists, and examples of the screen footage from the shows too. All of this will be vital as we put this project together, so thank you!

Done

You should edit your intsa post and add #sayyesceline

Or start fresh with a new first post from today not from dec 2019 (delete) and not confuse the campaign with courage world tour video/pics (which has nothing to do with the dvds we want)

imo

I think the first official post on each account should be an introduction. Explaining the goal and intentions.

Also, if you can edit the name on twitter to read "sayyes Celine campaign" so that right off the bat fans know what that account is about. I think that would be a good idea.

Thanks, that was just a placeholder until I got ahold of the proper image. I will delete my CWT video.

Not necessarily I do know some Celine fans who know alot about her and know when she sings live and when she doesn't but aren't the most tech savvy. And plus I hate to say this and not saying it cannot happen but targeting hardcore fans usually won't work. Sony will never budge if we are just targeting hard core fans they will be more interested to target the general public because it will produce more sales(if we are going with a physical release) and the general public(atleast in US and Canada which she will def want to target for) really doesn't know about the mini tours not saying we can't get them of course we can and we will try but it will be harder. I would advise fans over here to try not to group all fans who don't know the ins and outs or hasn't seen this show or that show as general fans. Some just don't have the means to access these things. If I had never found this board nor would I have known. And I went to Vegas 4/5 times just to see the show and I am in no way a fan that is dumb or not hard core but sometimes it does happen.

Aw thank you for the shoutout I'm working as we speak to get as much detail and put as much evidence together as I can so we can make this a great project which I hope and pray will succeed. It will not happen right away but I think if we all put our heads together we can def do it!

I hope this gets some big attention! :)

Can you delete the comments / block the person who commented those negative things about Sony?

That's not going to help the mission. People who comment things like that are just shooting us in the foot.

Let's be hopeful & focused!

Me? I didn't say anything negative about Sony I just pointed out that labels do generally release footage that will appeal to the general public not just die hards but of course I know there is a huge chance we may get lucky and get the mini tours and I would love that and be the first to get it if we are lucky. I wasn't being negative. I'm one of the people who thought of the campaign so I'm the last person to be negative lol
