“And BTW, if you guys want to caught midia attention to this, you'll better put something of Celine on the top of ITunes. It will get a lot media and prove to Sony there's more than a couple fans behind this. All others fanbases did that way and worked.”

Mariah Fans did this. They are so good at this.. that’s why AIFCIY became famous again and look now every year it became the most played christmas song every christmas

The "obstacles" always exist. Why do you think nothing of this was never released? If if was profitable and they have the money to do so, why not do it? Do you think Sony likes to lose money? Please.

Celine didn't have enough budget to drop a decent video during Courage era, but suddenly they have money for produce and release an old show on physical DVD that, BTW, according to NBC, as drop 86% in sales in the last 13 years, with perfect sound, extras, documentaries and all the stuff you guys are asking for?

Be humble. Ask for a simple thing, like the concert on youtube. Fans of other singers did and they got what they asked for, because was simple.

And BTW, if you guys want to caught midia attention to this, you'll better put something of Celine on the top of ITunes. It will get a lot media and prove to Sony there's more than a couple fans behind this. All others fanbases did that way and worked.

that really is ridiculous. We're talking about Celine Dion here, a global super star with a legend status that made them millions of dollars. This discussion really is pointless...

I agree with ryba.

Plus, like I said in the first post of the thread, those who don't want to participate, please just ignore the topic. Arguing about if this project makes sense or not won't lead us anywhere and we just want to give it a try.

I LOVE the concept, but it seems a bit crowded to my eyes... maybe if we consolidate all the Vegas years? So maybe saying “Vegas 2011-2019” would get the point across that we’d like to see all of it. Someone mentioned asking for a box set, which would be a pipe dream -but at this point, we have nothing to lose.

Others have mentioned that would should iterate that we don’t mind digital/streaming release as an option, and we don’t mind a “patchwork” compilation of performances (I don’t know the exact terminology).

I do love the idea of this banner though, because it allows other people to be involved outside this forum. Question is: how do we count the votes (or is this merely a tactic to get people tweeting/retweeting?)

We need big influencers who are celine fans onboard in different countries like Perez etc tweeting or RT this the fans don’t have a big enough force on social media a few journalists too who are celine fans, Montreal paper, the showbiz guy in Vegas, Celine’s PR people in different countries who will like and RT this... I know two in London and one in Ireland who would support this. Edited by Shamrock_1982

I got to say that seeing all of that thouch my heart, you rock guys!

Where there is motiviation and true love - everything is possible.

"Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City Hall

Needed where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

I also think we need this all finalised soon as we can jump on this when the shows get postponed/cancelled when she’s being talked about which may then help us that bit more with this possibly. Edited by Shamrock_1982

Last year there was some kind of open letter to Celine about the Courage tour. Lack of new songs etc.

Just contact all the fansites on Instagram and explain the whole situation and tell them what the plan is.

Pick a date for release. And after that email the team etc.

Agreed! Love this idea and love the banner, Shaun! Although, have to agree it's a little "busy". Maybe a different background/solid color would help? I think it's beautiful and I love the background, but I get worried that people will get overwhelmed looking at it and then not move forward with the action piece. We need to make sure it's streamlined so people take action!

In thinking about how shared graphics appear on various social media platforms it also might be better to go with a square graphic rather than rectangular too. What if you moved the options to have 3 on top and 3 on the bottom to try and even it out?

Just throwing out ideas. Appreciate the work everyone is doing on this... I'm late to the game but happy to help any way I can!

Yeah, that's not true. Jonas Brothers have a deal with Amazon Prime for two documentaries, one was released in 2019 before they drop the new album (when they were at #1 Billboard with Sucker, btw), the other one it's the continuation, and follow them from the exact same point the first one end. The thing is, for contractual reasons, they couldn't talk about a future release of a tour film while still on tour.

If you think you can edit a whole film in a week, specially in a pandemic, it just shows how little you understand this.

So then you're telling me they essentially lied to their fans after the release? What is the point in lying after the release? Especially if by then the contract is up. The original press release because I looked at it said nothing about a 2 program deal. When Amazon released the second show they called it a surprise drop. It was only at that time they called it a continuation but to my knowledge I don't think they knew it would be or I don't think they knew they would be releasing it when they did. The article even says and the boys echoed this to make up for the halted residency the group released the film "Happiness Continues" Beyonce's management actually announced her 3 show deal with Netflix so I don't get why they would need to keep such a thing hidden. For example yes Queen had discussed doing something for years and they did do a test run on youtube to see if it would gain attention but they had never made a thing final till the last minute.

I don't know if anyone remembers but in the summer I tried to start up a petition for these dvds I tried to contact fansites but got no reply if all of us pitch in and msg these fansites one of them has to listen.

Has another artist ever released a concert that was several years old? (Apart from the artist dying and then their team releases it.)

I would find it strange if Madonna released a concert from 2003, for instance.

I understand releasing something that was filmed within the last year or two - but not something that’s many years old. Unless it’s marketed as some sort of special release.

It could be done, it would just have to be marketed the right way. Like a gift to the fans.

I’m curious what other artists have done this recently? (Released an entire concert from many years ago).

The Vegas shows would still make sense if she did like a mixed set. A compilation of performances from all the years so 2011-2019.The Vegas show ended in June 2019 so it's been a year. Footage exists we know that.

JLO did take 3-4 years to release her Dance Again World Tour on HBO then to DVD. Hilary Duff released her final tour from 2007 onto Itunes in 2010

Oh yes!! Diana Ross her iconic Central Park show in 1983 got finally released on DVD in 2012!!!

The show was aired worldwide on Showtime network, but yeah in 1983.

That makes sense -- because Diana's Central Park show was a big deal, and I imagine there was a lot of demand for it.

Tried to simplify the previous design. I think we really need to narrow down options before trying to get backing on social media though. If we can get so many people behind and campaigning for just one of the shows then it may be more successful?

Based on votes alone, it would be beneficial to only concentrate on the 2016 and 2017 tours. Nothing else is coming anywhere close to them in the polling numbers.

I think us hardcore fans want the 2016 / 2017 tours for the great setlists.

But I think the release of the Hyde Park London show would gain a lot more interest from casual fans / the general public and be a tad less random.

Unless you add up all the votes for alllll the Vegas shows ... I still don’t think it would hurt to have it included, but it would be best to choose just ONE image to represent the entire second residency. That would give us 3 images (even tho the Vegas image would say 2011-2019) which is cleaner looking and easier on the eye/brain.

At this point I agree. I think we should just lump it this way Option 1 2016/2017 shows(let them decide) 2011-2019 2nd residency(let them decide) or Hyde Park. It's simpler doesn't bombard them and gets the message across. I don't see a point in telling them which show got the most. We ourselves have a general idea but I still firmly believe she should give them different options because if we just go with one show they can think of a million ways to turn us down whereas with 3 shows it's harder

Yeah I agree with this!

And if we include Vegas I would say just include the year's 2011 - 2015.

That were the most special ones with the best setlists and beautiful visuals.

There really is no need for Vegas 2018/2019. That's really just a greatest hits s*** show with lame visuals, and a small orchestra.

We had Tokyo for that, and even that one isn't a feast for the eyes.

I have a feeling Sony will chose that for a release and than we still have nothing.

We better let them know we want something special.

That's the whole problem with that show and setlist. It isn't exciting.

Now this looked fun and exciting :

But I guess Tokyo is what you get when not professionally filmed and edited into a flashing concert.

There's a Zoom meeting scheduled for tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, 24 January, 2:00 PM ET) to discuss our plan. We have to keep it organized and brief - because we'll only have 40 minutes. If you want a link, DM me here or on Instagram (@jmpl_aaren).

We need to arrive at an agreement on:

1) hashtag

2) banner/poster

3) launch date

We need to:

• Compile a list of any close contacts with Céline's team, Sony reps in various countries, and social media influencers/groups/clubs, etc.

• Delegate who is going to contact those individuals.

• Draft a polite written message that can be emailed along with the flyer.

If you have any such information or want to help otherwise, please let me know! Thanks!
