We don't need to mention them specifically. I was thinking the social media aspect more so because if it can gain any sort of attention from the press it will help us. I learned this from both Spice Girls fans and MJ fans with their campaigns.

How about starting that on social media and let them know via e-mail once we have a big number of fans involved? I truly think we should use our only direct way to communicate with her team, which is Feeling Production's e-mail address (as far as I know).

Yes to this picture!!

It shows exactly what we want

If you don't mind @Celine Fan 77 I made a poster myself jumping off from what you made. I used most of the text format you came up with but I tried to steer away from any wording that sounds like we're telling them what to do. I've also added the hashtag I think we should use (it can be changed if we come up with something else).

I was thinking we can also make a smaller banner to use on twitter and instagram.

Lastly, I think we should start thinking of dates for when to officially start the campaign and send the emails/tweets/instagram & facebook post (I was thinking here we could make one post w/ our poster and ask members there to simply reply with the hashtag).

My suggestion: use every official email address that you can, as Shamlock suggests. That’s definitely more effective than just writing to Feeling, because it also raises Sonys peoples awareness who have no idea what fans want. If you just write to Feeling, the email might get ignored as they all probably are out in the woods hugging trees, dressing up and taking pictures... Edited by ryba

But you’d think that a million dollars making machine like celine would have people lurking in her forums to fund suggestions on how to better milk it.

That's exactly the problem. Due to total lack of communication between the team and the fans, we have absolutely no clue of how they work and of how they do certain things...

A poll with 82 votes in a forum that has thousands of members actually shows very very little demand. No one is going to take this seriously.

That's the problem. Without getting at least tens of thousands of fans to sign on to this...it has no chance of going anywhere. But it sounds as if the organizers recognize that and simply want to do what they can so they can feel they gave it their all. I say, more power to 'em! We're still in the middle of a pandemic. What else do they have to do?!

Just saying... If we're asking for a concert to be released, then there needs to be evidence of a demand that is large enough to bring them profit. 82 people is not enough to demonstrate that. Some people here seem to think it's as simple as Celine wanting to be nice to her fans. This is an actual business we're talking about.

More like this forum has lost a lot of its member activity.

This campaign isn't going to be contained only on this forum, the idea is to invite and involve all Celine fans and fansites once it's well planned.

If it doesn't work then that's that, but at least we tried something.

:sofunny: I don't think they recognize that. Considering they mention the polling in the posters, and forget to mention any of the actual stats and numbers. I mean come on.. this is silly.

The OP asked politely

"Please, if you don't want to participate on the initiative simply ignore this topic."

Instead of resorting to making fun of fans just exit the topic.

Then we should start asking for big fan pages on instagram/facebook/twitter/etc. to start posting polls as well, so that this idea does reach more people. Saying "we polled people" is vague and reveals nothing; they won't just take your word for it. There needs to be real stats that clearly demonstrate a demand.

And I don't think using a hypothetical to justify a demand is a very good idea, such as assuming that more people will eventually join in. It may be likely, but this requires them to take a risk, which team Celine has shown to not be very good at.

It might be a good idea to amass participant numbers but unless we actually link the polls to TC then how can they be sure it isn't a made up number? Opening a petition for fans to sign on a site like https://www.ipetitions.com/ would be better than posting polls on different places. The options for concerts isn't the most important aspect of this campaign, it's getting them to release any of them. Once we reach a certain number of signatures then we can move ahead to the portion where we send Celine/TC/Sony messages through email and social media.

The poster is literally a draft, not the final so it can all be changed before we begin the campaign.

Why do you want to include a number? Come on. Let’s just write and send it and simultaneously start a huge retweeting and reposting campaign on all possible platforms and accounts linked to Sony, Celine, all her fanclubs, journalists that like Celine, and let’s also encourage other fanclubs to write requests and participate

Yeah without high profile people on social media and a few entertainment press people helping to put this out there, realistically nothing will happen. We need proper exposure which gives them pressure and a need to reply.

We could email or tag ET and ETCanada, Access Hollywood. What other entertainment outlets talk a lot about her?

There's many different factors that come into play here, it's not just about what the fans want. They've already considered releasing the concerts and determined that it's better not to. That's why they haven't already done it. Just asking them will not change their mind. There needs to be a convincing argument as to why it's a good idea to release one of these concerts and why it will benefit them and Celine. Not just that the fans want it. Getting attention on different media outlets is one thing, but this plan mostly consists of spamming them with emails and letters and whatnot, which will piss them off more than anything.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out where this campaign has weaknesses, but to anyone who is here only criticize without offering a solution : you are not being helpful.

If we come up with the right graphic, and set the launch date for the campaign/hashtag/social media barrage, then I think a lot more than 80 people will get onboard. :)

So far no one has mentioned a different date other than Feb. 14th for Valentine's Day. The only other "special" day I can think of is her birthday in March... Whatever the date, we need to work quickly and we need to get external support from other Céline groups ASAP.

General consensus is that we would like to see concerts from 2011-2018. I don't think we need too much more polling when it's safe to assume the majority of fans would prefer a something more recent than some rare, low-res footage from her early days (not saying we don't want that, but let's be realistic). Rather than discuss this topic too much further, we need to discuss HOW we're goign to get this campaign off the ground.

Some people have mentioned the loss of active membership to this forum, and possibly even a feud amongst current/former members... I don't know anything about this era of the forum between 2007-2019, but really if that's the case then we should absolutely avoid association with this forum if we want this to be successful. I think it's safe to say there are way better contacts outside our current active membership too. So how do we organize and unite all of these separate fan groups before the launch date and the execute the plan to include close contacts to Céline's team? We can't all just go bombarding Pepe's Instagram inbox without there being negative consequences to our effort. I think figuring out all of this will be the crucial next step... so any constructive ideas are welcome

How about creating a social media account for the campaign. One on every platform, instagram/twitter/facebook.

And yeah, let's not get bogged down on reasons why this may not work. We don't know, even if we don't get a full release maybe they'll at least end up uploading official videos of those tours on her yt channel to appease fans.

Actually this makes sense we should create for example an instagram account, twitter account and facebook account just for the campaign and spread the word that way. Get those of us from in here to start RTing, reposting etc from those accounts and I'm sure more fans will start to join. I don't know if there's a feud here. When we tried this earlier in the year I was unable to get in contact with others fansites so we need someone who actually knows the owners of those fan sites and believe me there's plenty of people on here who do. Maybe don't mention directly where it is coming from. I previously suggested just saying something like "Celine fans from around the world have come together and we need your help. We want Celine to release a new dvd from blah blah blah" You get the gist of it. Something simple. Having correspondence with media will be key but idk how we do that. The only way I can see that happening is if someone like Les Red Heads get involved.

****edit and Maki please know this isn't direct at you this is just in general****

And as I said before this thread began. If you are going to come in here and be a debbie downer then I ask you politely please spare us and just leave

You should just give up. You are talking to people who thinks team Celine has all this material ready in a file somewhere, already edit, produced and licensed, including documentaries and extras, and all they have to do it's put out there for sale, with no costs at all. Sony it's probably on board with it but if it's not, WTH, who needs Sony, anyway? TC can just drop everything they want, to hell with rights, just because 100 fans ask them to. Because, you know, that's how business work.😂

Do people seriously think it's THAT hard to put together a dvd. Lemme tell you something because my cousin worked with Live Nation(she doesn't anymore sadly) so she found out some info. The Jonas Brothers filmed their tour. Had NO plans to release it so they didn't edit it. I think initially they did but they got the Vegas residency so they shelved it. She was there the night they filmed the show. SO the pandemic hits and fans begin to complain what do they do and lemme be clear this is from THERE OWN MOUTHS. They told their management who arranged a deal with Amazon Prime and in one week they edited the show which they filmed in different locations so really it's not THAT hard so kindly to those who feel we are wasting our time please exit the thread and spare us. Thank you Edited by Kristinaz

well, some years ago, it was very possible and it was reality, and now all of sudden there are all these obstactles? Please stop.

Yeah, that's not true. Jonas Brothers have a deal with Amazon Prime for two documentaries, one was released in 2019 before they drop the new album (when they were at #1 Billboard with Sucker, btw), the other one it's the continuation, and follow them from the exact same point the first one end. The thing is, for contractual reasons, they couldn't talk about a future release of a tour film while still on tour.

If you think you can edit a whole film in a week, specially in a pandemic, it just shows how little you understand this.

Posted (edited)

If they will edit the whole film in a week.... oh of course the sound quality will be bad because it was rushed. For sure we will have the same sound quality they did in Japan show 2018. Rough, dry, mono. No thanks!

i really wish Céline will hire a manger to take care of these things

well, some years ago, it was very possible and it was reality, and now all of sudden there are all these obstactles? Please stop.

The "obstacles" always exist. Why do you think nothing of this was never released? If if was profitable and they have the money to do so, why not do it? Do you think Sony likes to lose money? Please.

Celine didn't have enough budget to drop a decent video during Courage era, but suddenly they have money for produce and release an old show on physical DVD that, BTW, according to NBC, as drop 86% in sales in the last 13 years, with perfect sound, extras, documentaries and all the stuff you guys are asking for?

Be humble. Ask for a simple thing, like the concert on youtube. Fans of other singers did and they got what they asked for, because was simple.

And BTW, if you guys want to caught midia attention to this, you'll better put something of Celine on the top of ITunes. It will get a lot media and prove to Sony there's more than a couple fans behind this. All others fanbases did that way and worked.
