I'm sorry but once again she gave Celine leftovers, I even don't go and listening to it again, only once.

It's a lovely song but it lacks the magical element that will make it rememberable for years to come.

Managed to get hold of a copy of 'Superwoman' in FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) which is much higher quality than compressed MP3 (the file size is

23.3MB vs 8.70MB) and the track sounds so much better

Sure, but I don't think you need Disney money to get a decent production. Apart from her singing style, her voice isn't very clear, and it sounds like it's muffled in a way. I'm sure with the right "settings" that could have been fixed with the equipment Diane has paid for.

The song itself is not that bad but I don’t like the way she sings it. Sometimes I wish she never heard of Sia so she would not try to imitate her singingstyle. Let Sia be Sia and Celine be the voice that is worldwide recognised as one of the greatest voices in the world. No need to sing like this Celine:(

Totally respect what youre saying Delphis but Celine herself said many times that René is the boss in the business and shes the boss in the house and thats how she likes it. Of course with René passing away she has no other option but to assume control of her career but its also healthy to have someone around to tell her what she needs to hear, not what she wants to hear. Does she have that now?

Completely understand what you are saying and I know she's said that in the past, but Rene's biography also mentioned he believed the manager should have control on all decisions. So sometimes I wonder what decisions she would have changed or what some she would have or have not recorded.

 

I also agree it would be nice to know who does give her direction as yes anyone in her position would need guidance and to hear no when it's needed.

What a shame 'coz I've just known the release. But to be fair, the song is kind of Unfinished-Song vibe where the vocal is tired and unprofessionally arranged. I still remember what DW talked about Celine recording Unfinished Song, like "I told her that's ok, but Celine wanted to to it again. What a woman of perfection!" DW in the 90s, superwoman! But DW now lacks that chemistry. Of course, I will put this song in the playlist, but just because that's Celine (like I did with Ten Days or Beautiful Boy), not because this is a stunning song!

I think her singing is much better on Unfinished Songs (I don’t like how they edited the final version that can be heard on LMBTL album) i prefer the movie version. Her voice there were well balanced to the instrumentals.

yeah, the YouTube version sounds very low quality. Probably they did that on purpose to make people buy the song in better quality

Just switch form Superwoman to e.g. Courage or any other song from courage and you will notice a huge difference in quality in terms of production and sound. It’s like Diane Warren produced that song herself on a Windows computer. Maybe she didn’t care to invest money into good production, since it was a rejected song from courage and she just included it on her album because it was Celine singing it.

I really love this song. It's like Refuse to Dance or Skies of LA - a little gem. Je ne sais quoi. I'm with you though, I wish they hadn't messed with that final note on the album version. (That's always triggering!) I prefer the full vocal track from the movie version, but if it were with the orchestral track from the album.

Speculation. In fact DW said she created these songs to fit together on a cohesive album, a la Calvin Harris or DJ Khalid.
